You make a good point. Although, I can't see how MS could get up on stage with a Wii Motion knockoff and MS Sports and with a straight face announce how revolutionary it is. But heck, they did it with their Mii knockoffs last year so who knows.
Red Alert 3 was due out in Oct 2008, but in July EA announced the PS3 version would be delayed (due to technical reasons). No new date was announced (It came out in March). I don't recall any writers going ape nuts over this and defending the poor preorder consumers or crying for the retailers or lamenting that EA is giving 128,932,877 gamers the middle finger. How is this scenario any different? 360 will get Ghostbusters, just at a later date.
Why are timed exclusives such a bad thing for the system that gets it last? Maybe it is the gotta have it now attitude of gamers, but I'd much rather wait and get the better version 6 months later when they fix alot of problems and add additional content not found on the original. I don't know if this will happen with Ghostbuster in particular and actually I would think since Sony is publishing it probably won't, but tons of games wind up better if you just wait patiently a little longer.
Not a huge sports game fan, but I'm looking forward to this one.
I don't think he would be touting game announcements at the Dallas Regional Chamber, so this most likely is some type of motion controller and as mentioned in the article might be video camera activated. If it was a simple Wii motion ripoff with a Wii Sports clone, MS wouldn't be so gung ho to say it was big news.
My best guess is something along the lines mentioned in the article. MS will probably do a Minority Report style demonstration where they are moving NXE dashboard it...
It started out believable until the whole chair thing kicked in, then it sounded like a bad script for a TV action pilot.
I'm rather indifferent to them. If they provided some in-game bonus that might be different, but just to see a number increase has little value to me.
I believe it would be Treyarch on that one since they do all the odd numbered COD's even though they stopped numbering them after 4.
This would kill gaming journalism and gaming message boards as we know it. What would they write in articles and argue about on the boards?
This just in: At the MS/Sony company picnic today Aaron Greenburg wiped a little dab of mustard from Kaz Hirai's mouth.
Tune in next week when the Sony and MS fanboys discuss todays weather patterns.
It's got to be Fallout:New Vegas. Jeff's just playing with the word Megaton. He even put Megaton in quotes.
I'm less a fan of the cat screech scare then a truly psychological fear. Scary movies and games anymore resort to the former, which isn't really a scare as much as a bodily reaction: Fight or flight. Movies (like Session 9) and games that really drag you into the story and give you a feeling of dread without resorting to cheap scare tactics are more my speed. Bioshock to an extent was able to pull that off with atmosphere. Remember that scene early while walking in the water when you coul...
Where has Darksiders gone off to? That had alot of press back in '08 and disappeared. I hope that isn't a bad sign.
Maybe E3 is a 2nd coming out.
Well, I contributed to those sales. The big price drop at Gamestop was too hard to pass up. I'm sure the sales nationwide are a big reason for this upsurge. Have yet to get to it though.
Looks stunning. Imagine playing Elder Scrolls 5 walking around in an environment like that?
Was that a burp at the end? He could have burped the alphabet.
Why does the chart show preorder intent sometimes 2 to 3 times higher than purchase intent? Are people not following through on a preorder?
"Now Sony just needs to ship a magnifying glass and a pair of tweezers with the new system, so we're not squinting around on the ground if we drop one changing our data out."
He makes light of the size, but I'll be darned if my kids don't lose those postage stamp sized games for their DS. No matter how often I tell them to put them up.
GameCock was publishing before they were absorbed by SouthPeak. Every thing they touch turns into a pile of stinking poo: Hail to the Chimp, Legendary are stellar examples.
What is the point of MS having a certification process if they can't go back and ask the dev to make changes to pass certification?
True. That's why E3 can be so unpredictable. You never know who shows up with the goods.
Have a bubble for an intelligent conversation :)
