"David Jaffe put his huge walrus balls on the line"
I thought his pants looked a little filled. I figured he was always sitting on one of those bounce and play balls. Little did I know.
It's all a matter of semantics. Core, hardcore, diehards whatever you want to call them the people that live and breathe gaming particularly folks like us on this site that follow gaming news and know about releases months and years in advance.
jmare is right, you will sell probably just as many games to 1 hardcore gamer as you would to 3 or 4 casuals and not just during the holidays.
Nintendo has been doing well with the casuals because the Wii is officially in fad...
Why would this game be fully ported to English including voice over and text if there was no intent to bring it to English speaking nations? The cost has already been incurred to do the port, so it seems like a no brainer at this point. I'll wait for it to come stateside and hopefully they will have added some extras by then.
Reggie is the consummate executive. If his lips are moving he must be full of it, but then again what executive isn't?
Frankly, I don't think Nintendo cares at this point. They may say they are providing for the hardcore like last year when they said Animal Crossing and GTA on DS should be more than enough (I think I spit milk through my nose when they said that), but they are winning the console battle through soccer moms and friends & family so who needs the hardcore?
I think a Gears 3 announcement is way too early and reeks a bit of desperation. How many times can you milk Gears and Halo every year? Plus, it is kind of nice when Cliffy B isn't in every headline.
What is Bethesda doing next?
Team Ico needs to finally make some noise
I'm a fan of Ubisoft developed games. You may find faults with some of them, but you can't deny the don't push the envelope. Assassins Creed 2 should be a a good one.

The problem is there is no clear definition of art to 2 different people. Even if you take the dictionary definition, art still isn't tangible to people. Some people feel real art invokes a behavioral response, while others just see the output of a skilled artisan as all that is necessary.
If you create a sculpture of a creature many would claim that is art, but yet if you scan that creature into a 2D environment and animate him, then it is no longer art? I guess to some they ...
I just want to know what is up with that picture of Pete H.? Looks like he is standing in a wind tunnel.
In about 20 years you will see some books out from retired MS insiders talking about how they got away with the RROD scandal.
I always thought demos did more harm than good unless you have a very good demo that can sway someone on the fence. If this is a previous build and not indicative of the final game I would say it is better to not release a demo. Of course they want to pump up sales of the DVD then they might be risking FFXIII sales for short term sales of the DVD.
I think he mean to say Konami
I gotta think it's due to Prototype coming out right around the corner.
or maybe Infamous is just a prototype.
Ok, I admit it was just as bad :(
Need to check the URL. Is this Blogs 4 Gamers? Seems like anyone with a 2nd grade grasp on the American language can create news these days as long as it sensational.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this thread has gotten a little off topic.
The problem with saying games reflect your personality is giving games alot more credit for morality than they deserve. You choose to be evil because of some personal character flaw or whatever is totally a bunch of baloney. Gamers make gaming decisions because they want to see how the game changes or rewards them with that decision. You push over the bus full of kids because you are playing the baddie and want to increase whatever bad meter you have or you just want to see the game blow t...
"The key to causing a hardware sales surge is to release must-have exclusive software; that's a fact we've learned many times over in the past."
I don't know if that is necessarily the case. You can say yes, around release date you get a bump in sales, but a title here or there doesn't seem to sustain any console in this generation.
That was as clear as mud.
Read Jaffe's comments on one of the links in that article. Very well thought out response by him.
Bold move, hope it pays off. I wonder though why the change? Was there something they didn't like with the direction it was going? I'm currently playing PoP and that has benefited well from the handdrawn look.
"The demo will hit PSN and of course XBL days from now, or at the very most 2 weeks from now I am told. Confirmation will follow soon, but you can rest assured the demo will be out in less than 3 weeks from this current date."
Is this multiple choice?
