If it is Colossus and the Hendersons, it is doomed. Even if that is the working title.
I can just picture Chevy Chase driving his station wagon to Wally World and bumping into a 10 story Bigfoot that he must scale all the while spouting, "This is Crazy, this is crazy, this is crazy"
Why would I pay $100 a month for a gaming device?
He gets a virus and doesn't get virus protection but buys a new Mac instead? I guess the recession hasn't hit his neck of the woods.
Say what you will about Nintendo but they have 31 titles on that list of 50 and they were the first party developers for all but 2 of them. That's amazing. Sure there are alot of common games like a bunch of Pokemon, but Nintendo knows how to generate interest in games they make and to appeal to a large user base.
I own all 3 consoles and the Wii is easily in last place behind the 360 and PS3. I can name 15-20 PS360 titles to every 1 Wii title that interest me. If Nintendo and Reggie really feel they have the enthusiasts interests in mind, then they are out of touch. I think in their closed boardrooms they may say different and they really don't care as they have done well with the casual market.
Now my kids play the Wii quite a bit because the PS360 is a little more complicated for the...
Just out of curiosity, how does an unreleased movie get out to the public before it hits theaters? Isn't there only a handful of people that have access to it or is this when it gets released to theaters before the movie screens and is now in the hands of a much larger population?
Actually, LIVE makes more sense to me than the other 2. I'm just more used to the 360/PS3 button layout, but what the symbols are there for has no bearing.
I was hoping QTE's were on the downfall not on the rise. Does pressing a random button during a cut scene all of a sudden make it more engaging? An engaging cut scene is one that is blended with the gameplay. And why are devs now so concerned with non interactive cut scenes? I don't mind a little exposition and mini movie after completing some gameplay. Why do I need to sit there and press 'O' at the right time to enjoy it?
"Hopefully as the generation progresses they start to listen to the consumer, and stop sticking to their business plan."
I would hope a well respected world class corporation like Sony would stick to a business plan and not take business advice from 15 year olds on the internet... or worse: HHG authors.
Looks like buy 2 get 1 free, not buy 1 get 1 free.
I got the wife an iPhone for xmas and she is on that thing 24/7; email, texting, facebook and she even plays games on it (never touches her DS). Our neighbor was generous enough to give us some tickets to the Magic-Cavs game last Friday in some great seats and she spent most of the game fiddling with the iPhone (sigh).
Irony comes to mind since all the games he mentioned coming out to the PSP this year have an equivalent already on the DS: Assassin's Creed, Guitar Hero, plenty of FF titles, Hanna Montana, GTA. The DS has a good # of titles for the mature gamer.
First, they need a motion controller and a killer game like Wii Sports to advertise it, then they need to drop the price. Those are the 2 biggest things they could do, but doing that would mean they are just mimicking what the Wii did and 2nd time around doesn't necessarily mean success. The Wii hit the "fad" button which is something no marketing or sales person can create no matter how much money you throw at it. The Rubix Cube, pet rocks, Sea Monkeys all benefited because the ...
It takes me months after the holiday glut of games to even catch up, so I'm usually busy with that until spring time. Still have Gears 2 and Resistance 2 sitting on the shelf to play.
The PS3 will most likely get a cut either around E3 or closer to the holiday season. I think Sony is holding out for a bit and by then the manuf. cost will have decreased further, plus with alot of big games hitting they could have a successful last half of the calendar year.
What 3rd parties are abandoning the PS3? If anything, the last few months have seen gains in PS3 development. Some surprise ports like Tales of Vesperia and NG Sigma 2 show the support for the PS3. The ...
Unfortunately, games aren't at a point where moral decisions are made based on your own feelings. They are based on what you think the game wants you to choose. As I play games like Fable and Bioshock and the decision comes up, I don't think what would I do in the real world, I'm thinking what does the game want me to do so that I'm not punished for my decisions. In the case of some of these games, they want you to play to the extreme of either side. Infamous only unlocks certain skills w...
Either go big or go home on April Fools Day.
We got a new puppy last week and my wife convinced my kids today she had to return him. She had them in tears before she let them off the hook. She's a son of b*tch.
Speak for yourself. My vagina is constantly sliding down into my sock. Once I saw that ad, I immediately went in for a little repair work and now it is firmly bolted in place. You can imagine the embarrassment I suffered when I took off my shoes.
The problem was the teaser was supposed to introduce MW2 as an upcoming game, but in the internet age everyone already knew it was coming, so the next step was to show gameplay. The teaser didn't do that, it just showed what we already knew and had zero useful graphics to boot. The teaser was a few weeks too late, so they probably should have scrapped it and shown some gameplay footage. If the devs weren't clued into this then they need to get online more often.
You make good points and it's hard to go back to past history to guesstimate because consoles haven't really penetrated the casual market like the Wii is doing. It could be an oversaturation problem, it could be the Wii is losing its fad status or it could just be a blip on the radar. Only time will tell.
