Cool! Wolverine was a fun game and now Batman looks to be a winner, what is this world coming to? If Ultimate Alliance 2 does well, I may have to rethink my superheroes.
I was in Best Buy last night and the PS3 section was picked clean of games and not a console for sale in site. It looked like a post xmas sale.

This year alone they made Wanted, Bionic Commando, Bionic Commando Rearmed and Terminator Salvation. Seems they were so busy they probably spread themselves too thin, but then again with 4 games in the pipeline, you would think they would have enough sources of income to keep going.
Couldn't have said it better myself. It just reeks of a money grab to me. Why buy it in 5 pieces when I can get it in one?
It will be interesting to see how this trends. The iPhone has the throw everything at the wall and see what sticks technique whereas the PSP will be more stringent on what is allowed as a mini game. If devs can't get noticed on the iPhone, they might choose to move to the PSP Go. The only downside is the risk that the PSP Go needs to first amass a substantial user base.
There's plenty of news if you can weed out the noise. It's a great site that saves alot of time jumping around the internet. Yes, there is a more vocal Sony crowd than any other console, but the news is generally well balanced between consoles (though PC gamers get little love).
I hope this game isn't 3 mediocre campaigns instead of focusing on one and getting it right. I can just see the reviews if that happens: The Predator campaign was nice, but I have to take off points for the lackluster marine campaign and the hard to control alien campaign.
Molyneux has the history and portfolio to garner attention for his projects, however his honesty and openness with the press tends to backfire on him. As with any game designer, I'm sure there is exuberance and excitement when working on a new project, but Molyneux's biggest fault is letting that spill over into the media to raise hopes and generate false expectations. I thought Ninja Theory had switched to making movies? They had alot of talent and experience in CGI and motion capture and it definitely showed in the cinematics of HS. Maybe they went down that road and it wasn't working out.
The 200,000 per month won't apply until 2010. Sept will be high due to the new price then Oct-Dec is the holiday buying season so numbers go way up as we near xmas.
I think Pachter made a good point about new sales coming from last gen buyers who were only going for a PS3 and waiting on the price drop or buyers choosing a PS3 over a 360 and the 360 sales dropping.
Unfortunately, these type of comments always get taken out of context so down the road when Rein is quoted as saying SC is bigger than Gears time and again that is what tends to stick when it was really a spur of the moment response to the length testers take to get through a game that encourages exploration. I also heard Donald Mustard (or is it Col Mustard?) say you can get through the game in 2 hours if you really wanted to push it.
I stopped gaming just last Thursday. My controller ran out of juice and the backup controller was dead too. I just rocked in the corner while I waited for it to charge up again.
It depends who you ask. BC is important to me because I took last generation off and have played tons of games on my 80GB PS3 from the PS2 genre:

They can toss in whatever incentives they want to get you to buy new. How is this greedy or underhanded? This is just simple business 101. They want you to buy it new, so they give you an incentive to buy it new. They want you to preorder to lock you into a new sale, so they give you a preorder incentive. They want you to buy the collector's edition by selling you over priced bonuses, so they create a boxed set. How is this any different?
I don't go to the ticket counter at a movie and pay $5.00 more because the producer thinks their movie is better. Even if the movie had an extremely high budget. The key is a better movie should have better sales. At $60.00/game the publisher is getting a profit on every unit sold. If the publisher can sell 10 million copies, they will get a bigger profit than the game that sold 100,000 copies. Likewise tickets sales to the movies, number of books an author can sell all mean more profit....
It's easy to pick YOUR best game ever, whatever game you enjoyed the most. As long as you have one that has risen to the top, otherwise you have multiple favorites. It's impossible to pick THE best game ever. It is like asking what is the best color ever. All you can get is a majority of opinion.
I don't fault MS or Sony for getting on the bandwagon here. Nintendo obviously took the gaming world by storm and no one saw them coming. As much as Sony and MS don't want to admit it, they are competing with Nintendo and E3 just proved that. They couldn't copy Nintendo and needed to come up with the next generation in motion controls. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
Maybe 2 different artists worked on each one and didn't compare notes?
