The people that have already put in an excess of 500 hours of game time in less than 3 months boggles the mind. that would require 6 hours of gameplay every day of the week since launch, and that is assuming they are at the 500 mark. The graph said 500+ hours.
Does this guy review a game chapter by chapter?
"I don't know, but when I opened the case, the plastic tab caught just a little and I nicked my finger. I'm giving the box opening a 7/10 because I felt that the plastic wrap was very well done, but the plastic tab drops it a few points"
"Disc insertion was a solid 10. No double push was necessary and it went in smooth and straight"
yeah, that's true. It's hard to remove yourself from a game when you aren't the intended audience and put yourself in the shoes of those that are. If I played this solo it would have been a complete waste of time, but with my son it was right up his alley.
I rented and played this game with my 7 year old son and we had a blast playing it coop. I wouldn't play it on my own, but with him it was alot of fun. I found the flying sections the most fun actually. It was a little hard for him on those parts, but he could just aim the gun while I flew around so it wasn't too bad.
SRPG on a handheld is my favorite. I like the strategy involved with a Disgae style of game over just a plain old turn based where you hit attack or magic over and over. On a console, I like the semi real time. Mass Effect did a good job of this where everything is real time, but you can pause by bringing up your biotic or equipment menu to give yourself a little time to think. The problem with a real time is if the enemies all rush you and give you little time to react. Most real time g...
Reminds me of that hilarious "I'm Fat" Weird Al video from the 80's.
I hear ya. I'm in the same boat. Started Oblivion about 2 months back and put it on hold to play some newer games. I feel kind of guilty jumping into Fallout 3 before getting through Oblivion. The game is just soooo long, but entertaining none the less.
Sony isn't responsible for what other devs put into their game. They can request co-op until they are blue in the face and unless they are the publisher or want to toss money to the developer to add it, tough luck.
The title should read why doesn't Sony push devs to add co-op to the game that I'm interested in.
I play on screen co-op with my kids on alot of games (and had a great time on all these titles):
Monster Madness

Nobody thought Raiden doing cartwheels in the nude was just a tad bit uncomfortable?
Which kids? My kids like Lego games but have no interest in Blink 152 or even know who the Police are. Rock Band on its own can attract the target audience older than 10. If you want kids under 10, then these songs don't really appeal to them. If you want teens and maybe preteens, how is Lego going to attract them? It might even turn them off.
I still don't know who this game is going to appeal to. TT is doing another Lego Indiana Jones which to me was the least appealing of the bunch. LOTR, James Bond or maybe Harry Potter might be a good direction for TT to legoize, but Rock Band makes no sense and another Indie seems strange too.
I haven't seen much advertising for it here in the states.
Strangely enough the Gears 2 final fight was mentioned as one of the best boss battles in an article last week. I guess it depends on your point of view. The Brumack fight was extremely easy as you really weren't in any danger, but it was alot of fun to ride around and just rip things to shreds. I didn't think Raam was that easy of a battle. Daedalus was just a weird battle. I didn't know what to do for the first 5 minutes and if he wanted to kill me it should have been a piece of cake. ...
Funny list!

Why do so many enemy camps keep barrels of an unknown, yet inflammable substance near where they plan on defending?
Where does Solid Snake keep that oil drum when he isn't using it? Heck, his pants where skin tight, it wasn't in there.
Why has the simple switch become such a defacto standard to the operation of every major control in an enemy base?
You have 150 enemies I have to trek through to reach that...
Heck, put it right on the box. Earn easy achievements, impress your friends, boost your gamerscore.
a bit of a stretch. Why buy a month exclusivity? You buy a year or something. Plus, Sony rarely does this anyway. MS is the one handing out briefcases of money.
I don't mind the tutorial beginnings to much if it is done well. If it is the stop and give me text instructions, that is more glaring then if an AI partner runs beside me and says toss a grenade at them. The latter is much more interactive. Don't beat me to death with it either. Once or twice, I got it down.
BL will be $29.99 by January. Get it then.
Try being married for 12 years. My wife is happy to get me out of her hair :)
Heck, I would probably get it again on the PS3. One of my favorite games this gen warts and all. Bioware knows how to make the core game feel good even if you have to endure endless elevator rides and retreaded environments :)
