I had Gold last year, but don't play much online so didn't rebuy it this year. I can stream Netflix over TiVo and really not finding much in the way of streamable movies the family likes to watch anyway. Having had it first hand and also the PSN, not finding Gold membership worth the price for my interests.
I like the change, makes the game stand out from the crowd more. PoP took on a risky graphics look and that is what made the game memorable. To each their own.
What if an unknown tester of the game had the views of Card and he got some kind of bonus based on the sales of the game, would you still buy the game? With hundreds of people working on games these days, chances are every game you buy will benefit someone with radical views that clash with yours. Card just happens to be famous so his views are more well known. If the unknown tester wrote a blog about his views and you read it, would you not buy the game?
Ah, adding Linux support in the first place was probably a bad idea if for no other reason then it becomes a sticking point when they remove it. If someone was really serious about Linux support, they would go out of their way to get a model that supports it. I imagine the people that want it are techies anyway that know which model to hunt down. Your average gamer won't care. It's just fodder know for Sony haters to say how bad it is to not have it, when they couldn't spell Linux in the ...
My mother wants a Wii. My mother is 63 and I don't even know if she has heard of the 360 or the PS3. But she has heard you can pretend bowl and everyone else has one that don't usually play games. She would play it once and say she has it for when the grandkids visit while it collects dust. There are millions out there like my mom which is why the Wii is doing so well. Word of mouth, pop fad, whatever, the Wii has an extra advantage over the PS3 and 360 because of it. There is nothing S...
Oh no, do we have another sensationalist site like HHG trying to nab hits? How are sequels of previous games on the system going to get new sales? It's not like every Halo fan has been holding out on a 360 until Reach is released. 360's shining moment was '07 when Halo 3 came out, that was when sales were big.
Is there really such a record?
Are all the review scores in at this stage? What if a few more pop in and it drops below the 2nd best? What was the previous winner anyway?
Gotta go with Twisted Metal.
Seems to fit the bill:
Sony has tied the devs hands from squealing
Jaffe is a talkative guy, seems he would be talking to websites. I wouldn't expect Kojima to have regular email exchanges with blog sites.
Big game from last gen.
Jaffe's game would be due in about a year.
Big upgrade is possible
Only catch is the uncertainty about multiplat considering I would expect TM to definitely be exclusive. Maybe there is ...
Do people really wait that long to get a system? I can see if the game came out at the start of this gen, but 4 to 5 years later and then get a system? Unless you buy a system to play one game and in that case that is a mighty expensive game.
Layton for sure.
If you have a DS, give Henry Hatsworth and the Puzzling Adventure a try. It's a great platformer mixed with a puzzler. Kept me glued to the screen for a very long time and gets very hard for you old schoolers.
I have to say though, as a player being able to put myself entirely into the characters shoes and feeling uncomfortable during the strip scene, I don't see that happening. I'm sure I'll be looking for skin like the rest.
I've got a PS3, PSP, Wii and DS all with built in WiFi. The entire DS can be had for nearly the price of the 360 Wifi add on.
Why drop the price when it is the #1 seller every month? Until there is a drastic change in sales, Nintendo has no reason to drop the price.
Interesting comment about a Pokemon MMORPG. Wonder why that hasn't come to fruition? That would be huge.
More power to him.
Is the subscription still intact or am I stuck with Maxim?
and thanks EGM for getting me in trouble with my wife... not only that but she had a bunch of friends over when the first issue of Maxim arrived. It wasn't until the 2nd issue that the sticker proclaiming the magazine switch was pasted to the cover.
I don't know if this is epic or not, but in Uncharted when you discover that German submarine, the vistas, lighting, graphics as you look out over the water and scenery was jaw dropping.
The fact the boy's horse is named Yorda and the princess he rescues name is Agro is also completely random and not influenced in any way by Ico/SotC
I got the impression the author of the article was stating that about a new game not Kojima. Although it's hard to tell the way he mixed in his words with the text of the article.
Nobody is complaining about rentals? One copy that is sent out to 10 (probably more) people? Rentals have much more of an impact than used games as most used games have 2 or 3 owners tops.
If everyone is so concerned their favorite devs are going out of business, get out your checkbook and send them $100.00. I don't feel guilty for buying a plane ticket at a reduced price knowing airlines are struggling. If I buy a used car, I don't sit up at night wondering if Ford will stil...
