If they had gone with cd with the n64 Sony would never have split with them and made the playstation at all. It could very well have still been a world with Sega and Nintendo battering each other in console wars.

If that were the case and Microsoft wanted to ensure the best possible experiences with their games don't you think they would prefer games developers to push back their deadlines to guarantee 1080p/60fps?

How come ps4 isn't hurt by these deadline restrictions?

Articles like this one are a good thing. Flame wars aside it's important for Consumers to know what value they are getting for their investment. You should buy whatever product holds more value to you.

If you like the idea of the all in one entertainment device approach then buy into that but if your focus is games and them looking as good as possible then your choice is becoming more and more obvious.

Speaking to the Xbox ones rumored software update to ...

Probably the xbox one update that will increase the power of the console to above that of the ps4 that mrxmedia keeps waffling on about.

He shouldn't hold his breath.

Getting the fan base riled up and excited drives sales. The console wars help companies make early sales to their most core consumers. After that word of mouth moves consoles.

I thought story wise cinder was dead... not that it means anything in a fighting game lol

If most of the staff that made rareware fantastic back in the day were still their I would agree with that comment.

I imagine a lot of indies want to stay independent of a publisher though. Publishers can hinder just as easily as they can help.

I'm surprised, it looks like gameplay is very split. Stay indoors where the titans can't get at you much at all until your titan is ready and then when it is fight other titans outside...

It would look more fun if it were more mixed but then again I've only watched one video, other levels could be more mixed/chaotic.

I didn't feel obligated to bring up every company that see hurt by the loss of net neutrality in a conversation solely about microsoft staff

Well microsoft wanted a huge online aspect to their services with heavy reliance on the cloud which is data heavy.

This whole thing with net neutrality hits and now people are leaving microsoft because of a change in direction.

Is this a knee jerk reaction from Microsoft because of net neutrality and they are shuffling around priorities? Or just a really big coincidence?

This is going to be really bad for gaming's "all digital' future and since this gen is hardly profiting off hardware sales alone (They make their money off online services) the industry as a whole.

Cloud services for both Sony and Microsoft are going to be hindered by this... imagine if microsoft had not done their policy changes with xbox, just wow. Talk about the consumer saving a device lol.

4455d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

He cites the companies new direction as his reason for leaving.

Does he mean microsoft as a whole and what those changes will or already do mean for the Xbox brand or just changes to the Xbox brand?

Maybe this has more to do with whoever microsoft are looking to pick as their new CEO.

My thinking on the matter has nothing to do with politics.

Cell phone providers were given stricter control over their Internet service than regular ISP's were by the FCC and that turned into tiered Internet plans with various GB plans and choke points if you use so much data on "unlimited" Plans. If you have an unlimited 4G plan and use 50 gigs of data in a month you watch it quickly become a 1g or 2g speed Internet connection.

we have already ...

I am surprised the court overturning net neutrality laws hasn't bolstered game stops stock a little. Surely when the internet slips to a more expensive model for those who use digital downloads physical sales game sales will rise.

Then again their is that point someone made about amazon keeping nee games priced cheaper than gamestop wish to resell them so you may as well buy new.

Of gamestop go under the sales are gonna be frantic and awesome.

I know that I have been saying for months that this is the reason all digital wasn't the future of gaming or streaming media... no one I talked to in all that time cared and just thought me a silly person.

This is a massive issue and I agree it should be the hottest topic on n4g and the net right now.

You say that like ISP's in other countries won't use this as a president and move to make the same changes in their homeland.

I gather the argument here is that it's an outrage for playstation now not to have classic games that were/are sold on the ps store in its library?

I think it's gonna be like netflix where they have an extensive library that rotates in and out over a particular time frame. I don't think they are going to go out of their way to pick and choose what titles show up on the service to maximize their profits in digital sales.

You also have to consider l...

Did you really say people who play Japanese games are a minority? Maybe in America but we are on a worldwide stage here and that's exactly my point.

The potential chinese (now that the cultural bans have been lifted) and Japanese markets are also big, people in countries outside of good Internet infrastructure are also pretty numerous.

Games are called mainstream because they are popular in the countries where they make the most money. Call of duty may be...
