Not a Sony fanboy at all although I do openly admit to having a gripe with microsoft due to the fact that as a consumer that doesn't have access to Internet outside of my cell phone with which I can't tether to update they don't consider me a consumer worth reaching out to. I quite literally cannot use an xbox one at my house thanks to their being no disk with which to do the mandatory day one update.
Sony or my opinion of them has nothing to do with that. So plea...
It will be a bunch of PR speak about how xbox one is doing well but will do better as more exclusives release on the console.
I'm not expecting any major reveals like a price drop or a kinect less sku but who knows.
You would think that from a marketing standpoint you would think that if you are going to harp about a technology that will define your system that you would make sure the capabilities are both shown and made clear from near release.
Now the perception is that the xbox one is not as capable a machine as was hoped and that stigma may stick now that we are 3 months in with nothing cloud based to show even if they prove themselves further down the line.
Titanfall I'm sure will sell a bunch, what microsoft want is for it to move xbox ones and I'm not sure it will.
The 360 is a lot cheaper and people mostly already have them... what's two weeks to wait for a game with this much hype or promise?
Then they will find something else to cling on to I'm sure. Remember before the xbox launch around e3 time last year when microsoft hung onto ryse like it was the lifeblood of the console?
I'm not knocking titanfall by any means it has garnered plenty of praise but it seems xbox feels like the need to have a trophy wife in the form of a blockbuster game to validate themselves.
They need to watch field of dreams lol. Build it and they will come... The ...
Xbox 360 has an install base of 80 million. I could see it selling even higher than your predicting.
The sales numbers will be inflated because of all the copies microsoft are giving away with new console sales. It will be hard to really know whether xbox will push titanfall sales or titanfall will push xbox sales
Xbox 360 is getting mostly the same games... I seriously don't see how a $500 price tag can justify ryse and forza... As I said most of the other "exclusives" are on xbox 360.

I agree this is really scary stuff. I know some people will say our phones and laptops do the same thing as is which frankly is eerie enough but the kinect having a while view of the living room and family interactions just adds a while new dimension of creepy.
I'm not sure if this is new news or old news. The date on it is recent but it describes xbox ones kinect as "always on" which hasn't been the case for a while. So it could go either way judging from that article alone.
I know they say you can just unplug kinect but still.... pretty creepy.
I thought ms said they were putting a stop to this? Can't trust anyone these days.
Mos at xbox one games are available on xbox 360.
Outside of kinect their is no other reason to buy an xbox one outside of better graphics.
Anyone arguing about resolution or graphics not being important need to stay away from xbox one since xbox 360 is cheaper, Has bigger library and plays the same games.
Except of course for the few true xbox one exclusives but are ryse and forza really worth paying over $500 to play?
Unles...
@mcstorm
The point of the article is whether the xbox one is worth it right now.
Most xbox one games are also being released on xbox 360.
The 360 has a lower graphics fidelity than xbox one.
Gameplay is important to you not graphics.
So what's the point in buying xbox one? You can play the same games one xbox 360...
Seeing my point yet?
There is no reason to buy an xbox o...
During this console war I have heard a lot about how resolutions and graphics don't matter and that gameplay is king in the fight between ps4 and xbox one in resolutiongate.
My point is that since fans of the xbox brand have made it so clear that graphics don't matter then the choice is simple for them: get titanfall on xbox 360 and save 500 bucks.
Seriously the xbox 360 has like an 80 million+ user base, people looking at titanfall likely already ha...
I think Joe was trying to say that the underpowered xbox one isn't worth the 399 quid investmemt.
Since you don't care about game resolutions perhaps you agree with joe? Since the games looking a little less appealing on xbox 360 play similarly and it's all about the gameplay right? Outside of kinect there is very little reason to upgrade since a hefty number of xbox one games play on xbox 360.
I agree with you.
The video is also 100% true with the xbox ones future line up moetly being available on other systems (360,pc, ps4 and 4) there is very little reason to own an xbox one unless your excited for kinect sports heroes and kinect stuff.
so it's more expensive and it's software is available to other formats... There is going to need to be some drastic changes to inspire a sense of worth equal to $500.
People will be hopeful for a price drop in other regions (US) and may hold off buying an xbox one for titanfall until a drop happens.
So no now isn't the time to buy one. If people do wait for a price drop then sales will remain poor enough to force microsoft to make a US price drop.
If I were waiting to buy an xbox one I wouldn't do it when I can sense the possibility of a state side price drop in the air in thr next few months, titanfall would wait ...
Well some "insiders" said the game would run 720p then another "insider" said 1080p after optimization and re spawn refused to comment. So now it's confirmed no 1080p even though it was pretty clear from the start that it wouldn't be....
This is sad news. I really hope that the trolls are respectful enough not to try and make this a flame war/console war topic.
@bx81
6 months I would have agreed with you about technology not waiting. I know that both new consoles are heavily invested in the Internet and being connected but net neutrality had been lifted and in the next few years Internet use through gaming and streaming media is likely going to get much more expensive.
Sure the technology is their for all of this connectivity but the consumer base may change back to shying away from the internet for its needs... If ...
