Excellent sales on the part of MS and Sony. MS did better than I expected for a console that cost a $100 more. That is really good for a launch.

@ Phoenix76: What 180? It has been clearly stated that for people with a disk drive problem that use the Advance Exchange system they will get a free game.

While I feel for the guy as he had one of the few bad consoles he got it replaced right away at the place he purchased it at.

The reason they are giving away a free game is to make up for the couple of days they have to wait for their replacement to arrive. He did not have to wait, he got a replacement c...

Yeah, can EA and DICE possibly get anymore egg on their face. If they don't get this fixed soon they will end up having to give out something else for free.

LOL. You have point.

To bad we don't get Spike in HD here. It really sucks in standard definition. It's pretty much pointless to watch the Video Game Awards in standard definition.

I made no excuse for EA or Dice. I said that I would prefer to wait for a game to be finished properly than to get it early with its bug fest.

The only thing that I did was give a likely explanation for why the game was launched the way it was, i.e. the accounting types made the decision based on a purely financial reason. Most programmers would prefer not to send out a game unfinished.

Perhaps you and the other 8 people who disagreed could put your brains t...

So Sony being the vendor is ultimately responsible for the prices on PSN. Was there some gouging going on here?

You would think that with DRM being much easier for a digital download that they would be cutting the prices so that more people would adopt them thus decreasing used game sales and piracy. Strange.

I agree with every comment here. There is zero excuse for rushing this. Sure they may have lost a few sales on the front end due to some people buying COD to get there fix but they would have made it up on the back end once COD started to get stale. Even then the initial impact would have been small.

No, this is simply what you get when you get an accountant determining launch dates so that he/she can have a pretty chart for the quarterly investors report. I have worked w...

LOL. You are in Quebec. The one province that does the polar opposite of every other province in Canada. Need I say any more.

None here in New Brunswick. The guys I work with at our divisions in Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Alberta can't lay their hands on one either.

Glad to hear the fixes are starting to clear things up for the PS4 players. It only makes sense that they would be dealt with first as the console launched first.

As far as the servers go this is what happens when a game company tries to be in the server business. EA focus on games, MS has lots of servers for you to rent.

To be fair to EA though I think that these consoles were both rushed to market so that they could be sold over the holiday season and tha...

You can't get a single Xbox One or PS4 in my city right now. Both have been sold out since launch day.

@Sci0n Go pick up the boxes in that pyramid of yours and you will find they are empty boxes for display only. They have them all over my city too. At GameStop, Target, Walmart, Future Shop, Best Buy, etc. All with lots of empty boxes for display sitting in the isles.

Not much to say on that one other than it completely confirms my theory that there are really many useless humans on this planet.

Either grow up or crawl back up into your mommy's uterus so that the rest of us don't have to put up with your useless self importance.

Yeah, a lot of people have really missed what is actually going on here. I happen to have consoles from all three companies and like them all for their first party stuff and unique advantages but this generation people seem to have missed out on what was happening.

I have been saying it all along that the Xbox One is going to be bigger than people think. They just can't get beyond the idea that you can have a great game console and still have so much more. It is change...

I think that you will see new consoles in about 5 years.

With MS moving towards the total integration of all its products providing a complete ecosystem it will become imperative for them to keep up with its competitors in the long term and I am not primarily talking about Sony. I am talking about Apple and Google.

MS seems to have surprisingly caught Apple and Google with their proverbial pants down right now with this cross platform ecosystem they are deve...

I have never stated that it was ever goodwill. If you read any of my posts you will see that I don't promote fanboy behavior like some people do with the statement that _______ (insert console of choice) did it for the gamers. As I have always said any decision made by MS or Sony is a decision based on what is going to earn them the most money.

That is what people don't seem to get. MS laying out a billion to fix up the mess that was launching the 360 knowing they ...

"Sarcastic Gamers forums"? No shit I would never have guessed.

"I am pleased that I have, in a very small way, some sort of voice in the gaming community. It isn’t often that I use that voice for a call to arms, but I like the thought of having it waiting in the wings, ready to leap into action should it be called upon to stand up for the little voiceless consumer that I found myself to be when left holding yet another 360-shaped paperweight."

The potential of the Xbox One for MS is absolutely astounding. The dream that Bill Gates and the Board of Directors has for finally taking all of MS' platforms and making them work together is almost at hand.

If you think the changes you saw from the launch Xbox 360 to todays 360 was something just wait until they get this shit rolling. It is difficult to even contemplate how revolutionizing this could be.

This has the potential to become the perfect se...

This is truly a pointless children's argument. Both consoles are going to be fairly close in the near term with Sony having the edge in the first 6 to 12 months. After that it is going to come down to which vision sells more consoles. Sony is betting on the gamer market only which will always equate to an early lead as the hardcore are the early adopters. MS on the other hand is betting on the larger market of casual gamers and couch potatoes who love "all" types of entertai...

@Death I agree. I had to have several 360's replaced and did not pay for a single one. The first one crapped out after 14 months I believe. I was pretty pissed because I did not think I had warrantee but when I called MS they told me that due to the fact that there were so many failures they were extending the warrantee to 3 years for the RROD.

On top of that they gave me three months free XBL Gold to make up for the time I would not be able to play online.

It made more sense to bring out Halo 4 on the 360 for several reasons:

1. It was a well known IP and was used to keep the Xbox fan base happy prior to launching the Xbox One.

2. It was not Bungie developing Halo 4. It made more sense to have a potential f@!k up on the 360 than on the launch of the Xbox One. It would be far easier to redeem the Halo Brand alone than to try to redeem the Halo and Xbox One. It takes a long time to recover from a really bad co...
