Microsoft's ID@Xbox program is a completely separate department from the 3rd party and 1st party game development teams. What they do does not affect what those other teams are doing.
Sounds like a driver or codec issue to me. It will probably be fixed soon. I really don't care as I stream all my movies from my HTPC. Who actually buys Blu-rays anyway? Just kidding I know some people still do.

If you want an actual guide as to how the Xbox One SoC actually works I would suggest reading the Digital Foundry article as it clearly debunks this guys article and shows his complete lack of technical knowledge. If you want to analyze microelectronics at least have the engineering knowledge required to talk about it.

This really comes done to return on investment. The situation for MS and Sony are very different when it comes to Japan.
Japan is very culturally entrenched. Sony is basically considered a national hero to the Japanese therefore it is very easy for them in that market. On the other hand MS would have to spend a much larger amount of money for a very small return on that investment. Even if MS came out with the best games that the Japanese culture wanted they would be bias...

I have an Xbox One but am waiting for my kids to open it on Christmas (10 more days:) before I get to play it so I am depending on the internet to get my Xbox One jollies right now. That is a rating given to the FCC so that it can pass certification that it will not interfere with radio frequencies that are used for communication. First off the Xbox One CPU (not GPU) runs at 1.75Ghz while the PS4 runs at 1.6Ghz. Both are using the same Jaguar 8 core CPU but the Xbox One is overclocked while the PS4 is not.

Yeah, I have a WiiU and the best game so far has been Lego City Undercover, it is a great game but there are no other really great titles that are original right now. Had to flip back to my 360 shortly after getting the WiiU. Just waiting for my kids to open up the Xbox One under the tree in 11 days so that I can join the next gen Xbox Club. PS4 will not be getting a purchase from me until next Xmas at the earliest. Simply not enough compelling games in 2014. Hopefully we will see an ups...

Infamous is a great game but it will not sell like the above 3 games that I just mentioned.

Does he actually know what % means? So they are selling 3.4 times more consoles than they were at Christmas. I would hope so to be honest. The PS4 will do great as evidenced but they need more than a bunch of indie games to keep people interested. They don't have any firm dates for AAA exclusives that can compete with TitanFall, Halo 5, or Quantum Break. They need to get more than just Uncharted 4 or they could quickly lose some people who are starving for AAA titles.

I don't see that happening this cycle but maybe next. The main reason is 4K televisions. This is the first gen that is truly HD and it is coinciding with the fact that HD TV's have just become inexpensive enough for almost everyone to have.

Your not old I remember it too. BC directly on the consoles can only be done by emulation as the architecture is different. Emulation requires a huge amount of processing power and memory. You could have a PS4 or Xbox One perform emulation if you were willing to pay a lot more for each console so that they had the extra power to do the emulation.
