Quote: "November NPD Group figures released today revealed 909,132 Xbox One units were sold in the U.S. in the console’s first nine days, making it the fastest selling console on the market in the U.S."
How is this confusing for people? It says it directly here from NPD - "Making it the fastest selling console on the Market in the U.S." Can people not read?
No where does it say that PS4 did not sell a million in the first 24hrs in NA is...
Not really. To have enough hardware power to employ BC through emulation would have driven the cost of the console even higher, probably $600 or more.
The did not want to have that high of a price.
I think that what we are seeing here is that MS has really tuned their supply chain. I spoke to a manager at the Future Shop (something like Best Buy but in Canada) and he told me that they were sold out but get deliveries each day (overall stock not just Xbox Ones). The best thing he said was to check in everyday to see if any came in with that delivery. If they get some that day then come in right away. That is why people are seeing them on shelves. The store goes out of stock, gets an...
Sounds great then. Glad they are going to listen to their customers. I still have 13 days until my kids open their Xbox One (I am putting my name on it from Santa too). GTA V is keeping me entertained for now but I can't wait.
That is because they had a second launch dummy.
Xbox One sold 400,000 units in their second week in the same in the same countries where as the PS4 launched in another 30 countries.
In its second week PS4 sold just under 100,000 units. In its third week which is what this report is talking about it launched in another 30 countries. It would be pretty bad if it did not sell more consoles during its launch.
I said this was going to happen when n4g first posted Major Nelson's notice that there was an update coming and that your Xbox would be turned off if it was in standby mode.
The reason you cannot say, "Xbox On." to start your console is because in order to apply this update it has to do a complete shutdown from sleep mode. This is due to the fact that it is a firmware update that requires a full power down. Due to this the Kinect cannot hear you.

Good to see the communication before hand, especially letting people know that their console will be completely powered down and requires you push the button to start it.
I am sure that there still will people who do not here about this though and end up thinking their console is broken.
Believe what ever makes you feel good about your choice in you console. I have seen it used and it works. Your loss not mine.
Because this is a Fan Boy article?
It certainly would. That is why this scares me. I bought the Doom 3 and was thoroughly disappointed.
Here is a quote from Wiki on Doom 4 that scares me about it:
"In April 2013, Kotaku published an article describing Doom 4 as trapped in "development hell". Citing connections to id, the article claims that Doom 4 has suffered under mismanagement, and that development was completely restarted in 2011. Inside sources described the pre-2011 ve...
Because no one has developed one specifically for the Kinect 2.0 yet. They have already demoed the Kinects ability to track full body movement. Check the link and watch the demo video. Below the video is a list of the specs comparing the difference between the original Kinect and Kinect 2.0 that you get with the Xbox One.
They are apples and oranges. Kinect 2.0 can capture at 30fps in 1080p in any light conditions now and the latency is down to 20ms compared to the 102m...
Please not another Doom game. I have good memories of my early adulthood tied up in Doom on the old 486 PCs and you keep ruining it by bringing out Doom shovel ware now. Please stop.
What exactly is the issue here? I agree that it sucks if the put the price up $5 but this is just more hate MS crap.
If Walmart starts charging $5 more for a game I go to another store. That is how the free market works. If you want lower prices then either don't buy it until the price drops or buy it somewhere else that has a better price.
Believe me once a retailer sees their sales drop for a product they will lower the price. It is simple economi...
Unfortunately it does not seem that it is possible. Ah well we can always dream.
Exactly what I have been trying to say using up two of my bubbles in the process and getting disagrees in the process.
I happen to like all of the consoles. I have a WiiU now and once my kids open the Xbox One at Christmas we will have it too. I will get the PS4 next year once they get some first party stuff I want coming out.
Nintendo needs to develop new and relevant IP and get their online stuff going. Good lord MS has had Xbox Live available for over...
The Division and Witcher 3 look great. Tales from the Boarderlands is not really my cup of tea but I may be convinced otherwise once more detail is provided. Game of Thrones does not interest me at all as I am not into that TV series. No Man's Sky really seems like a larger universe but less developed Destiny to me so no real hype there for me either. Broken Age looks like the younger crowd could really get into it. I personally lived as a young adult through the text tree games on P...
An all around good article showing realistic impression of the system.
Regard less of how you feel about my comments Nintendo has a perception problem and they need to fix it.
They used to sell consoles based on the fact that they had games that were in demand and everyone had to play them. That is not the case anymore.
They moved on to selling unique hardware (i.e. the Wii). Their hardware is not unique anymore.
Their only option is new IP and if you thought I meant crappy IP you aren't using your b...
I am still amazed that people find this shocking. Governments have been spying on people forever. It is just a whole lot easier with the internet.
Personally I am more worried about douche bags stealing my ID and corporate giants like Google tracking my every step on the internet so they can target frigging ads at me. I do have google ads turned off but they can still pretty much follow my every step and sell that information to anyone that will pay.
I g...
I am rather surprised that you can spell rocket science seeing how you cannot read. PS4 sold 1 million consoles in NA not U.S. NA happens to include Canada while U.S. includes only U.S. The report is talking about US only. I spun nothing, I put direct quotes in from the above article. If you have a problem with spin take it up with NPD and Dual Shockers and all the other sites carrying this news.
