Thanks man. I play all of the consoles but have to admit that Xbox is my preferred console. Though I generally try to avoid ripping someone on their console choice I will if they are being a real ass. More often though I just like to sprinkle a bit of common sense into the mix. As you can see by my bubble level common sense doesn't usually go over too well. LOL.
I am an Xbox fan boy and I would just like to say, "Well said." You bring the gas and I'll bring the matches. Bubble up to you.
While I agree whole heartedly with your statement as I research the sh!t out of anything I buy you and I and many of the tech savvy people on here are really part of a tiny minority. It may not seem so when you are part of a online tech community but it is true regardless.
I don't know if you work with computers or electronics at all but I do and it always astounds me at how little people know about them. Something that would be logical and obvious to you or me is tota...
Anyone who thinks that a corporation pumps billions of dollars into a technology, gets it working, and then sells its units at the highest rate they ever had then turns around dumps the technology is living in a dream world.
The Xbox One with Kinect is exactly what MS is looking for. It is selling and it is being adopted by developers. This coupled with the whole concept of integrating the Xbox One with all other windows platforms (tablet, phone, PC, etc.) and becoming a ...
I agree completely. I am looking forward to Dying Light, Watch Dogs, Quantum Break, and Halo 5 also. Hopefully Halo 5 online is improved over Halo 4 though.
I assume you would prefer to receive a product that is never improved once received.
The majority of people including you have zero concept of the fact that when something is designed by an engineer it can only meet the specifications given to the engineer.
In a perfect world you would know every possible use and potential failure mode. Thus you would design the perfect product.
In the real world an engineer has to balance functionality wi...
I love playing all the consoles (Xbox is my preferred console though) but wouldn't a Billion dollars be better spent as a write down so the could sell the console at a lower price? I mean they could sell 10 million consoles on par with the PS4. That may be enough to get them to the point where the manufacturing costs drop enough to break even after that.
Pachter: "I don't think you're ever going to see 500 million consoles out there," Pachter said. For lifetime sales, Pachter expects the Wii U will ultimately sell 30 million "or fewer" units, the PS4 will sell 100 to 120 million units, and the Xbox One will sell 90 to 110 million units.
Apparently he has not heard of China. It may not be open to consoles like the rest of the world is yet but they will open the flood gates some time this generation...
Most of the suggestions we knew were coming at a later date anyway.
I think that this site is great though and it is even better that MS has taken the time to use it as a guide for updates.
As an engineer I always try to consult the users of anything that I design but ultimately have to make what I think is best. The real key is to go back after your customers have your product and have used it for a while and pick their brains for potential improvements...
LOL. Voice commands on the Xbox One are starting to show up in a lot of videos working great.
This is more or less what I expected as it will take time for people to adjust to the nuances of using voice commands. Eventually you will see a more intuitive voice interface than what is currently being used.
The price disparity between countries is absolutely ridiculous. We have similar issues in Canada and we are next door to the US.
Games usually run 20% less just across the border.
Hell, we even manufacture cars by Toyota, GM, Ford, etc. here in Canada then ship and sell them between 20% and 40% cheaper in the US than we can buy them here living right next door to the factory.
There is some pretty predatory and discriminatory pricing going on...
I really don't see Apple or Google making a real play at the console market. MS and Sony are dominant now and that will be true for this generation. Hopefully Nintendo pulls it's ass out of the gutter and starts offering some new IP. If they aren't then they need to pack it in on the hardware side and start developing for Xbox and Sony so we can still play their games.
I personally don't want too many manufacturers in the mix as it just splits up the develo...
Slam dunk for the Kinect. That is a really cool simple application for it. Looking forward to more unexpected little things like this.
Truly hilarious.
Kind of like the pot calling the kettle black there. Perhaps you missed out on all the promises for the PS3 at launch that never happened. I was there for it as I bought one.
I totally agree that there is spin going on but I am not naïve enough to believe that Sony happens to be the benevolent Console God standing on high gifting the masses of fan boys with greatness just because. They spin the shit just as much as MS.
Both companies want your money p...
Not really. I have an Xbox One but it is a Christmas present for my kids so I don't get to use it until they open it.
So currently I am stuck with my WiiU, PS3, and Xbox 360. I will be getting a PS4 at Easter for my kids and will be playing it then.
So no it does not bounce right back.
I just find it kind of funny that people who have "the best console" really have the free time to troll about Xbox numbers. It is pretty child...
Both consoles use custom architecture. The Xbox One even more than the PS4. What Acesonal does not seem to understand is that this custom architecture coupled with OS' that are specifically designed to run only games the consoles do not need the absolute brute force and consequentially expensive hardware for a top end gaming PC. I know as I have built many. With a PC you are stuck with this route because the OS is designed primarily to run non gaming software and hardware.

Is the PS4 that bad that people would rather rant on about a console that they don't like or want?
Just curious.
Please tell wake me up when the uber geeks who have no clue what they are talking about stop creating ridiculous articles like this.
There were a lot of fan boys here apparently from the disagrees. The biggest system seller this year will be TitanFall.
Infamous was good and will sell systems but is not a "System Seller". Like I said it will sell a few consoles but not "System Seller" console sales on the level of Halo or God of War.
Destiny looks like it could be a "System Seller" for two reasons:
1. It is Bungie and they are still riding ...
Although my preferred console is the Xbox I play all the consoles each generation. I have a WiiU and it is quite fun but it is a pretty barren console right now for games. Lego City Undercover has to be my favorite so far, it is a great game.
The problem is that they got fooled with their sales of the Wii. I have that console too and although it was fun the novelty wore off really quickly. The technology for full motion gaming was what sold that console and its let down...
