@princejb134 I suspect that I am old enough to tuck you in. Facts and common sense are just that. If you don't like them so be it.

A few points here.

1. This the guy from Nokia drove that company into the toilet on purpose so that MS could pick it up so who in their right mind would want him for CEO.

2. MS is making money off of the Xbox Brand and have been for years now. They need another two years of sales maximum at the current rate and they will be net positive for the Xbox brand.

3. Bill Gates is still the Chairman of MS which means that he is the ultimate boss and he als...

Here is a description from one of the developers with Respawn explaining why they chose Xbox One and not PS4 for Titan Fall.

Quote by Jon Shiring an engineer with Respawn: "I personally talked to both Microsoft and Sony and explained that we need to find a way to have potentially hundreds-of-thousands of dedicated servers at a price point that you can’t get right now. Microsoft realized that player-hosted servers are actually holding back online gaming and that this is so...

Number one Xbox has been in the black for years. Yes, if you count from the beginning of the Xbox brand with the total money lost versus total money earned then they are still in the Red by about 2.5 Billion but the brand is making money now and has been for years. You do not terminate a division that you spent billions on to make profitable just to get rid of it once it makes money.

I agree with others feelings that they should have left the Xbox Division separate as oppos...

A good article. Although upscaling is far more complex than made out in the article. There are some very complex algorithms used to determine the added pixels not a simple stretching as implied. Thus you do get a really close to fully rendered image.

That being said the Xbone has a really complex SOC that will definitely take time for the developers to come to terms with. You will end up seeing lots of native 1080p coming down the pipe.

I don't see anything that is wrong with this guys statements. They all fall directly inline with MS plans for unifying the different media streams (i.e. gaming, television, and I don't just mean controlling the TV but integrating video media like the Ryse episodes that are coming out with the games, communications like Skype, and the internet). The are also bringing more and more of their entertainment under the xbox umbrella by using things like integration with smart glass. On to...

All people have to do is read the update to the article. This is typical FUD from NeoGaf. I am not sure why anyone uses that site to acquire information about the Xbox One.

If you want real information about the Xbone go to a technical site like Beyond 3D where the users actually know what they are talking about.

If you want to play with grade schoolers arguing about which J.I. Joe figure is better go to NeoGaf.

Both comments about the original Kinect's problems are correct. There were technical problems as the technology was not as mature. There also were not any apps or games out there that were block busters that would sell this technology to the whole market.

The reason for that is simple and also has two reasons:

1. The original Kinect did not have the fidelity or reliability to be used in the biggest selling games like COD, BF, etc. It simply would not...

Just another example of how this society is becoming a bunch of pansies. BooHoo, crunch time is terrible. There is a reason only a few people become truly successful and that is that they are willing to work for it. The rest just moan and complain and join the rest of the herd complaining about how unfair life is.

Good lord you would think that they had these people locked in a dungeon somewhere being flogged to increase output.

At my work we have somethin...

This guy is CEO of Activision and he thinks this? What do they use there for forecasting techniques, a voodoo witch doctor and entrails.

That statement flies in the face of basic economics. Sure production costs will start to drop but one would assume that MS and Sony have signed contracts with the companies producing these machines that are longer than a few months so they will have to pay what the contracts state. Even if they do have the option to get the consoles fro...

Very interesting. I was not really that sure about getting this game but my interest has been piqued.

I will definitely be watching for the next episode.

If MS can link their first party games to other media formats like this and then entwine them with the game play via DLC they may very well have a winner.

If they can get non gamers interested in a series like this they may be able to draw more people into getting a console so that they c...

Both look great but fine detail on the PS4 seems smudged or blurry. Definitely more crisp on the Xbone. I think the lighting is definitely better on the PS4.

All I can say is you have to really hate a company if you need to write an article that has 50,000 words bashing them over their ad campaign. This guy needs to get a life.

@Regorl You are wrong. You are assigned to a regional server facility reducing latency not increasing it. In addition every Azure server facility has their own dedicated bandwidth that cannot be throttled or capped.

If you have an issue with throttling or being capped that it due to your ISP contract and will affect you regardless of whether you are using the Cloud or on a PS4. If that is the case then you need to switch your ISP.

I have two choices in ...

@Neo Tribe You do not seem to understand that the compute that is being done on the cloud is not latency sensitive. By performing non latency sensitive compute like A.I. and physics calculations on the Azure servers you don't have to perform those same calculations on the console. This means more graphics rendering can be done on the console.

No one has claimed that the are doing the graphics calculations on the cloud.

People don't seem to understand that the Azure servers are not just P2P servers, they also provide compute services. For those that seem to think that because some people have slower connections than other that the dedicated servers won't help you are wrong.

First off when you go online to play on Xbox Live and the game is using Microsoft's Cloud these servers will connect you to a MS local server farm in you region decreasing connection issues, secondly it wil...
