What about if you can actually play it more than 50% of the time?
At this point I would've taken Far Cry 4 for WiiU instead of Watch Dogs, provided it actually released on time. Namely because Watch Dogs isn't as good as I hoped it would be, and it will probably still be $60
I forgot this game exists for the WiiU. I tried it at PAX but there was input delay which ruined the experience
If you enjoyed past Nintendo consoles the WiiU is an easy choice. I grew up with Nintendo but waited till the MK8 bundle, I'm glad I made the jump.
Once you play with the gamepad you will wish every console had a second screen option. It has plenty of past titles to hold you over until late '14, 2015. And it's hard to leave Mario Kart for more than a few days at a time
Not that big a deal. Old Mario games were take-a-turn multiplayer.
I'm sure when the game is released people will clamor for more content like skins and items. Nintendo always likes to evolve games as they move through development, I don't see them standing by this too stubbornly. This game went from a Dev tool to a full fledged video game, so anything is possible
I can tell this game will be split between people who want a high scoring game versus people who want a cool experience they can say was worth $60 to them. My concern is if they can make the dual Gears/Dead Space gameplay fresh and fun enough.
I also know that Heavy Rain got good reviews when I didn't think the gameplay was that impressive. The Order looks cool (I thought the E3 conference video was pretty sick), would need to play it.
Nintendo likes to focus on group engagement, games and features a lot of people can gather around and grasp. This is supported by the ease of use with Wiimotes on Wii, asymmetrical gameplay involving gamepad, 4 wiimotes, and a TV on WiiU, and local multipayer present in a lot of their games.
With VR you're putting on a somewhat bulky piece of headgear with possible issues of disorientation (with current dev kits at least. You close yourself off, making it a solo experienc...
Good to see MK8 is the best selling new release. And before you say Watch Dogs it released on 4 platforms, the highest sales was on PS4 which is less than MK8
Well done to everyone
I thoroughly enjoyed No More Heroes on Wii. Over the top with lots of blood, nice cel shaded visuals, and a simple yet sufficient open world. Too bad it sold like crap, though the 360 version didn't fare too well either. It wasn't an amazing game, but for Wii it was one of a kind (like all of his games)
If I was Nintendo I'd wait for the tech to get cheaper, smaller, and battle tested. Miyamoto said the tech "isn't quite there" regarding the fact VR is somewhat bulky with kinks to iron out
It will be awhile for VR to catch on as a mainstream device.
Can I pay for micro-transactions with bottle caps?
Games should tell you what installing will actually affect. I installed Bioshock Infinite but got almost no benefit visually or with load times, I remember Skyrim actually suffered if you install.
Any game is a system seller if there are people who want to buy the game. Just like my thoughts of buying a WiiU day one if Metroid Prime 4 was released, there are probably people who are in love with Dark/Demon Souls and want the next big version.
"The number of games Ubisoft is working on has also apparently been decreased over the last few years in order to offset unforeseen development costs when creating games for the new, more powerful consoles.
'We did stop six products that had the chance to succeed but we stopped. This happens sometimes but not five or six,' said Guillemot."
I wonder how many of them were WiiU versions
I don't see the PS4 losing momentum for the next few years. It's riding a sizeable wave that will only get bigger as key titles move in.
The 3DS needs to keep performing well to offset any sluggish WiiU sales from now till Smash Bros. Nintendo should see a return to profit this year, especially since it looks like WiiU will rake in a profit along with solid 3DS sales. My fear is WiiU sales will slide back down from June to October, they have a limited window to expan...
If Nintendo can establish the gamepad as an accepted form of controller input I'll call it a win of itself. It's their biggest hurdle yet one of the WiiU's biggest assets. You do sacrifice some handling due to the rectangle design, but then again no controller is perfect.
After using it for a few weeks I can say it's worth the extra cost. Using it for internet or playing games while the TV is in use is invaluable, for a game like Mario Kart or Pikmin it's...
Interesting a console with over 12 times the install base is selling more?
I liked the ZX series for DS, especially the first one. The art style and Metroidvania style gameplay is well done. I'd love to see a future installment with a bigger environment, cities, etc.
I really like the Valve vibe going on with this game. A simple game mechanic (ink) that can be applied in many different ways, reminds me of Portal which followed the same design concept.
For game modes I'd like to see Squids vs Humans, CTF, and a tag variant, among others.
Nintendo almost always puts local multiplayer if they can.
