The 3DS XL was expected since they always have an improved model after the first version. 2DS was designed for kids or consumers who didn't want to spend as much money. New DS is to encourage games with more power to come to the 3DS, and to attract those who didn't think the normal 3DS was powerful enough.
It's alright to be bummed about the New 3DS, but the other versions aren't bad at all.
They tricked you into what Nintendo has done with every handheld, introducing more refined models? Should do some research and have some wits about yourself when you take in information, it will help you as you go through life.
My mind, my heart, my soul.
There is a huge reason I have this avatar
Several points I want to bring up to counter the author, and in general as well.
For one, Miyamoto said "advanced games", not "difficult games". The key distinction is advanced games are more likely to be difficult to master or have a higher skill floor, but a difficult game is not necessarily more advanced. Flappy bird may be a difficult game but it is not advanced, you have one action to perform and to advance you only need to master one main concept. In...
I have to laugh when I see Metal Slug games selling piece by piece for like $10 each, considering the Anthology for Wii cost $40 (1-6, X)
I thought casuals didn't buy any WiiU's?
This is easily one of the best $12 DLC I've ever seen for a console game, yet somehow it's a bad thing. Sure there are games like FTL that introduced tons of content for free, but 16 courses, 6 characters, 8 vehicles, then several color swaps for $12 is an awesome deal.
Tbh I didn't even think they would make DLC for MK8, but here it is. Haters gonna hate
Pokemon, Zelda, Mario (both platformer and Kart), Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem are what I believe to be the cornerstones of the 3DS library. Who else makes games of that type or quality? And they're games you can play for short intervals at a time again and again, even once you beat the main game. And they work offline so you don't feel like you're missing out going solo.
3DS is also much more kid/general population friendly than the Vita. Combined with a ton of m...
And the good one's aren't all under Gold. Probably gonna pick up the Infinite SP and Far Cry 3
Twitch is trying to be a professional site. Eventually copyright owners will complain when they see thousands of people watching a video with their music in it, they want to do it now while Twitch is relatively young. It will also show Twitch is friendly to more potential sponsors who will of course want their interests protected.
They added a training wheel to the steam controller? Kind of funny if you ask me, but if that's what they need to do.
The system of my childhood. My first game was a snes game, didn't play it for 2 years after I got it until I was 7. So many fond memories, it was my gateway system.
Until things like net neutrality and internet infrastructure gets sorted out pure Cloud based gaming will not be possible, or will be very messy and anti-consumer. Internet rates will increase, streaming could become unstable, and things like subscriptions and latency will get out of hand.
Gabe Newell was skeptical about it a year ago, I doubt his opinions have changed
Too bad it's owned by Crytek, who only think of PC powered games. They'd have too much pride to release a game on the WiiU, sad to say. Not sure why they even bought the franchise, don't give a crap about it, guess it came with the dev team.
There won't be much action for another month, but as soon as October hits things will get interesting. Xbox is banking huge on the Halo MCC, and if they can persuade people that CoD is best on X. I don't see MS breaking the trend of PS4 being the choice for 3rd parties, I just don't, which will give PS4 the edge.
Without 3rd parties Nintendo is hoping they can lure in people who want more colorful games and games only coming to WiiU. Bayonetta 2 and/or Hyrule Warr...
If you take a bundle and remove everything except for the base console stuff you end up saving money on the console. Nintendo will most likely do a similar bundle with Smash like with MK8: $350 that includes The game, WiiU, and one of those off-brand GC controllers (probably not the adapter one, but the 3rd party made one). Possible throw in a game promotion.
If they did do a price drop it would only be like $20 at most. The WiiU only recently hit profit per console sold and ...
I've been meaning to buy WiiU games, since I've been hoarding money for almost a year now. I wasn't sure on Bayonetta 2 at the start, but it looks like it's gonna be a high quality game which I can't pass up
A game so good I've bought it three times (twice on Nintendo consoles, tho technically my brother bought the GC one)
Metroid Prime 3, motion control at its finest
I think they recognized the 3DS was too underpowered to satisfy certain gaming desires, the type of games you could download/import from a mobile store. Someone might say "I like the 3DS but it can't play the games I like". Or "I really like the higher end games you can get on an App Store but the 3DS can't support it".
Nintendo recognized that the 3DS wasn't offering enough outside of 3D and wanted to modernize it. People said the 2DS was gonn...
