Well a comeback is going from a terrible position to a much better one. Thanks to more games WiiU sales have doubled in the second quarter compared to the last Q2. You can't say the WiiU has no games when they are on track to have 1 1st party game every month in 2015, especially when you consider their quality.
What's important is Nintendo making it back into operating gains, to where every financial bottom line is in the black. It's easy to overlook the bigger p...
I'd only imagine PS3 outselling total Wii sales if a bunch of people wanted cheap blu-ray players and liked the idea of having a backlog of games to go through. Even then we're talking many years down the line, if even possible.
It's crazy to think Nintendo has been held back because their first party didn't know HD development techniques. Now that they know how to do what others have been doing for years, Nintendo's strength is evident. Not only have they made good decisions with Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors, but there are 11-12 1st party Nintendo games planned for 2015. Their games will continue to rate among the highest despite being "last gen" software.
MK8 DLC is a posit...
It's up there, but not best or even greatest. It's a wonderful game, but in the grand scheme of gaming there are more influential titles out there. But it is deserving of all praise it received
Nintendo could make any system they wanted to. They choose to build a console focused on new gameplay methods over power. Ever since the GC when they tried to compete with power and lost their plan has been clear. Sometimes you get a Wii, sometimes you get a WiiU when it comes to sales.
Besides, the gamepad is awesome, I get way more play time with my WiiU because of it and I love playing games on it while I have a TV show in the background.
This is a pro Xbox article, which takes a jab at PSN's sever issues, so there are naturally going to be some comments on PS4.
PS4 fans have been kicking at Xbox fans for over a year, now Xox fans get a few of their own substantiated licks.
Maybe I'm the only one tired of all the PS4 master race stuff that's been going on, I much prefer a balanced console race. Just keep it civil
Nintendo wantsto prioritize the region with the biggest install ratio, if it didn't sell well there then it probably wouldn't sell well in NA/EU. Basically testing the market and with the sales in Japan they can correlate sales in NA, to coordinate production, potential sales and inventory. Why it's in Australia and New Zealand, maybe because they are small western markets that can further gauge western interest as in a small sample size.
It's a rather smart m...
Hoping for some WiiU deals. There a are a few games I want and would love a deal.
Agreed. It has Nintendo design written all over it, the pirate theme is very cohesive, one of the best soundtracks. It is quite the Platforming masterpiece and masterpiece in general.
Do you have examples on the early days of gamergate? Because it's flown under my radar until now and I have no idea why it started in the first place.
Gonna pick up Woolly World for sure. I guess I'll have to wait for Xenoblade X by the second half, with more time it should only get better than what's already been shown (which looked pretty damn impressive in its own right).
That's 3rd party for you, they haven't changed one bit, easily getting worse. You have to look for 1st/2nd party exclusives and certain indies now.
The undeserved hate to Iwata in the comments. Forgetting how Nintendo is releasing DLC the right way (either free or after launch with a high content-cost ratio), the high quality of exclusives release after release, how Nintendo has a group dedicated to making partnerships for 2nd party games they would never make (potential GotY Bayonetta 2 anyone), how Nintendo has a dev group similar to Valve where individual groups of Devs can freely create their own unique IP's ala Splatoon.

Personally I can't do much to influence WiiU sales, but I can say my WiiU collection will only grow with time, I'll easily meet my average number of game purchases for a console by the end of the generation (around 15 per console).
There was no denying despite being the "casual console" with low power the Wii still had a mighty arsenal of exclusives, which will continue with the WiiU. It still needs Smash, still needs Zelda and a Mario game to define the gen...
And Nintendo still exists, so don't really care. Smash in 3 weeks
I'm waiting for the New 3DS to come to America. Hopefully by then a Metroid game will be on the radar
Piece as in music track. Every stage, menu, event, character has several songs. Many of the songs are pulled from past Smash games, but I'm sure there are plenty of original pieces (songs)
It will sell at least MK8 numbers for the first few weeks. It's way more hyped and the series popularity has only grown over the past year. I'm more excited for it anyway. MK8 is/was cool but Smash is the event of the year.
So they're not as good as the demos, but not bad as I had feared. I wonder if Nintendo will make premium versions like the demos for more avid collectors.
