Digital versions will not overtake retail until there is more of a financial incentive to do so.
Someone up there already mentioned ME2 on PSN...ridiculous.
Then you have Activision's pricing of Prototype on PSN and Ubisoft's pricing of the original Assassin's Creed, both games were recent additions to the EU PS Store.
Until the prices on that kind of platform can compete with the deals you get at retail, digital versions of full ...
You're asking me that like I would know, or that those were my own words or something.
Yeah because a game like Halo will work wonderfully without a controller...
There won't be a Halo 3 or Halo Rach style Kinect game, MS have said time and time again they are keeping those kind of experiences controller based and only doing "new" and "different" kind of experiences for Kinect.
NGP isn't meant to sound like part of any brand, it is nothing more than a codename or working title whilst they decide what they actually want to call it.
Project Natal is another example of a codename or working title, something many products have before the official retail name is finalised.
Heroes on the Move was another recent one that comes to mind, it was just a working title until they figured out they wanted to call the game Move Heroes.
I'm not going to sit here and disagree with someone's opinion today but for me, the future of gaming is where my preference lies.
Online gaming on PSN is robust enough, I've not experienced crazy lag or anything like that....in fact the last 360 game I played online which was Gears 2 had terrible online playability and it's a paid for service, which is a shame because Horde mode was incredibly fun.
Sure PSN lacks some features that Live has, b...
I've gotta be honest, as much as I do love getting more for less I'm also seriously impatient to play the games I'm interested in and end up buying most of em day 1.
I'll tell you who it most definitely appeals to.
Me.
I think this thing looks fantastic and the fact that I can play the games I downloaded for my PSP Go on it is a huge deal to me.
The features look great, the interface looks great. All it needs is some smart pricing, solid marketing and probably most importantly good developer support.
Looking forward to E3 now so we can get a ton more details.
It's not the PS3's power that has evolved, that's just not possible.
Rather it's the developers skills and their technology and processes which have evolved...which for us is pretty damn awesome!!
Simply another reason I am done with anything bearing the Call of Duty name.
I don't like Activision either but I'm always open to buying a well made new IP, if they ever decide to do anything other than rehashing established franchises.
I think this is exactly what the author suggests it might be, speculation on his part.
I'm not even 100% sure Steam istelf has cross game voice chat. Not to mention why would Valve facilitate this feature when it will only have developed a single game for the PS3 platform?
It's a really cool idea and of course it'd be awesome if it came to fruition but I can't help thinking this is one guy's imagination getting carried away a little bit.
Yeah, pretty sure this just decided which version I actually purchase.
I know people that play it, people that do have the PS3 but are playing this on PC.
I played the beta on PS3 and it was pretty cool but if I bought it, I'd buy the PC version as the people I normally play MMO's with are playing it on there.
There were plenty of people that did it in the arcade with games like Time Crisis, including me.
I'd have no problem doing it in my own home, I'm just not sure that I'll actually pick up one of the peripherals.
I stopped reading when he said the PS3 is financially failing for Sony. Didn't they start to become profitable earlier this year?
Windows 7 is great on my desktop PC, I do like it even more than XP but man it just looks to be a terrible touch screen/tablet OS.
Maybe they can tweak it better for tablets, I don't know. I can't help feeling though that the interface needs an overhaul for tablets...trying to use an interface that is best suited to mouse/KB with your fingers just seems dumb.
Yeah I have to say gaming is probably bottom of the list as to why I would want a tablet lol...can't imagine someone buying a tablet for the main use to be gaming....that's crazy to me but I bet someone will.
Personally I like the idea of a tablet to have a larger screen than on my phone that I could do some bedside browsing/e-book reading on.
My Android phone of course does those things well, I'd just like something with a larger screen that isn&...
I actually thought the article was a decent read.
The guy isn't bashing Superhero games or saying they are bad, he even says he loves Arkham Asylum and that inFAMOUS is also a very good game.
His point was that when you read a comic book, you get a deeper connection and a deeper look into the duality of a hero's personality, something that has also been achieved in some superhero movies also but that games, although they may be great games don't r...
If EU users get the 60 minute trial I'll probably have a go at hat before deciding to buy the game.
And if I do buy it then it will be on a disc.
I'm not sure I can agree with that tbh, not that I would have given it to Move either...sure Kinect may be great fun for people just like Move but neither I think are truly innovative. Move is an evolution of the Wii-Mote and does what it does much better, Kinect is an evolution of the Eye Toy which just does what the Eye Toy did and is simply more capable as tech has advanced.
Are either of these motion devices innovative? I don't think they are one bit, and this is...
This shouldn't be much of a surprise to anyone really.
I'll be passing on COD again though.
