I turn my 360 on once every blue moon these days but I really do like the look of this new UI, I find it to be quite minimalistic which is always a good thing.
I can't see there being any way this would be added to the 360 at all tbh, not at this time in the 360's life.
For their next console I think that absolutely they will go with a different format than DVD but whether or not that is Blu-Ray remains to be seen but it has to be something with a larger storage capacity.
What I would love to see in consoles when it becomes cheap enough is games stored on flash memory. Data rates would be superb so game perf...

The difference between the PC and 360 is that you don't need to have a disc in the tray. You put the disc in once to install and never have to touch it again.
With the 360 installs you have to have the corresponding disc in the tray in order to play the game. I don't know how this works for multiple disc games on 360 and whether or not you have to change the disc at any point if it is installed as I don't own any multi-disc games for my 360.

I don't think Insomniac are a studio that can be accused of being lazy by any stretch of the imagination.
What happens with day one patches is normally the game goes gold meaning it is ready for pressing onto discs but after that they find out about some kind of critical bug that didn't previously show up through play-testing, internal bug testing or in the beta.
A day one patch means that before you get to play the game it is ready to work as intende...

I think trophies and achievements are only pointless to certain people.
To others they offer re-playability in the game as long as the game is fun and the trophies/achievements are fun to try and get.

Timed exclusivity is just stupid in my opinion, whether it is a full game or DLC. I actually find it annoying regardless of who is doing it as I just can't understand why it's so important to MS to keep doing (yeah Sony is probably guilty of this too and they don't get a free pass from me either btw, MS just seem to do it more) this stuff.

It is a bold statement but it is actually true, if your viewing angle isn't right for a screen like the one on the 3DS then it does detract from the experience. It's not rally trash talking if you're stating a stone cold fact.
Not to mention the battery life using 3D is absolutely horrendous which is reason enough on it's own to bash the system.

He didn't say everything sucks. He said if 3D isn't done well and doesn't add to the experience then people aren't as interested in it. This was followed up by him saying that's why 3D isn't a tickbox to be checked by developers making PS3 games, they tell devs to add it in there if it adds to the experience as only then will people have an interest.
I'll definitely be buying Gears 3 without a shadow of a doubt as I've enjoyed the previous games in the series.
I also couldn't give a flying monkey shit if I'm the only one that buys it as long as I enjoy it. This is my view on the sales of any game I'm interested in.
I'm with you on there being sick of FPS games with there being so many, but there are a couple I really like the universe they are built around. Resistance is one of those, there is really only a few shooters I will play these days and this is one of em.

I like that the PS3 isn't region locked, same thing for the games. The DLC however for the games I believe is region locked. I've tried to trade DLC with friends in the US like the pre-order costumes for the original LBP...just didn't work as it was US based DLC for a European copy of the game, even though the game isn't region locked.
Just a small inconvenience though.

And yeah don't pay much attention to that index rating Windows gives, your score is only as high as your worst performing area, your PC will run the game absolutely fine.

As a lover of Steam and games on pc I normally play multi plat fps games there but this also means I don't mind installing games, and he'll I used the optional install for GT5 and use the install option for every game I play on 360. There is a reason Ms added the option to install.
Yeah no need for all those patches to fix game breaking bugs and glitches in every COD game that gets released every year.
Basically anyone that plays those games online is an ongoing beta tester.
Saying that Capcom should have done a better job has been a bit of a recurring theme this generation.
