I think this is absolutely fantastic news for Playstation fans and for Sony.
For us PS fans we know there's another quality game developer who will only ever make games for our platform of choice that will be of an extremely high quality and Sony now of course have another reason to market themselves as the console with the biggest and most diverse line up of truly exclusive games.
Great news....now to beat inFAMOUS 2 as evil Cole.
A Silent Protector, A Dark Knight.
Day One!!!
Reported this article, absolutely ridiculous title. The Sun are bad enough for having the name in the title of their article but even in the actual body of the article they don't imply the xbox had anything to do with this.
Ridiculous title and anyone that approved this needs to have a look at themselves.
I'm not about to be buying one (or ever for that matter) but it's actually a cool bundle, the console looks pretty cool with the R2D2 styling on it and the gold on the controller is just pure C3PO.
Cool design for sure, I'd love a R2D2 themed PS3 or even a R2D2 PC case mod lol
If you download enough then you do technically end up with free content on PS Plus.
There's plenty of people out there who have downloaded content worth more than the value of the subscription if you were buying it as a non plus member meaning that anything over and above that would essentially be free.
In terms of core games there is simply no comparison at all, Sony trumps everyone for quantity and quality of first party developed games when it comes to the core gamer.
I'm not even going to start considering casual games like Kinect Sports or it's Sony/Nintendo counterparts. Those kinds of games don't show on my own personal radar at all.
I have to say I've enjoyed PS3 exclusives more than any multi plat this gen. The standard of the games is just superb, not just the graphics but the gameplay and storylines have been truly amazing.
The PS3 and Sony have their shortcomings and I do hae my issues with both the console and Sony but it's these exclusive games that keep me enjoying my PS3 even more as time goes on.
I don't own Kinect and have absolutely no plans to but I can believe there are some fans/owners who would want Kinect support in a game like this. I mean if you own Kinect and like shooters (I actually know a few people who are core gamers and own a Kinect which tbh I was surprised at) then you're going to want your investment in the device to be as useful as possible in as many games you like as possible as long as it is well implemented of course.
It's also impo...
MS have been saying their 360 sales have only been getting stronger, I honestly don't know why they would be in any ruish to bring a new console to market any time soon if what they claim is true on top of Kinect having sold so well for them.
Remind me why LED's are that important? I'd hardly consider it much of a downgrade tbh, unless whilst using your PS3 you are in dire need of a small insignificant light to reassure you that yes your PS3 is indeed switched on despite you sitting there playing w/e game you like to play or requiring further assurance that your PS3 is connected to the internet whilst actually playing online.
Damn you Sony for removing those LED's I've never paid any attention to!...
It's brutal honesty like this that causes me to have a lot of respect for Jaffe as a game developer.
It'll take something very special or epic to rip me away from Steam for my PC gaming needs tbh, and EA's Origin is not it.
I'M not sure they will announce one as soon as that, the current xbox is doing very well as is kinect. I think the earliest we will see a new xbox or play station is 2013 tbh
The hacking community he was talking about isn't the criminal sort, more the enthusiast that merely wants to tinker and add functionality much like those who would root their Android phone to run certain kinds of apps like Titanium Backup which is so much more in depth than the conventional data backup apps available.
Another example is the crowds of people hackinf Kinect and making it do all that cool stuff way beyond what game developers are doing and who MS said they w...
Citi, the bank was hacked too. Sony just seem to have got the most publicity with the PSN hack.
Can't say a bad word about Insomniac. They have made amazing Playstation games and they are absolutely fantastic with their attitude and treatment of their fans and community.
I can understand them wanting to control their own work and IP a little bit more despite Sony having been an awesome partner for them.
I do hope though that they will make Playstation exclusives outside of Ratchet and Resistance though.
That crytek game was the thing I was most looking forward to in the MS event this year. The teaser last year had got me thinking that Crytek were turning their hand to a 3rd person hack and slash game in the same genre as the likes of God of War or DMC or Bayonetta but in that Spartan/Gladiator type setting....it could have been so EPIC.
But no, it's some first person Kinect game. Like you, my heart was a little broken at that point.
I was quite disappointed by the Microsoft show to be honest. As a gamer who at this point is simply not interested in Kinect there was nothing new that excited me.
Sure I'm absolutely pumped for Gears 3 just like most other core gamers that own a 360 but after that there's nothing to excite me. Forza games are good games but I'm not as much of a racimg sim fan as I used to be (proven by me not spending a lot of time on GT5 despite it being a really really awesome...
I always enjoyed The Getaway and would love to see a nice new PS3 version of the game.
I'd love to see that. The support that Insomniac would receive and the things they could do being part of SCE WWS would be amazing imo. I mean I know until now they had only ever made PS games but I always felt that their games didn't get the spotlight put on them as much as first party developed games.
