Now all they need to do is release Home which will hopefully help build the community and make that even better and add in cross game invites and chat and it'll easily be the best online console service available, and be free.
Developers need to enable it in their games just like trophies and custom soundtracks.

The PS3 is doing just fine, it's meeting Sony's expectations and has been outselling it's main rival consistently for quite some time, month on month.

Kids don't simply ask for "a games console"
They ask for exactly what they want. There are enough kids in my family (not to mention having been one myself) to know this to be true as everyone else should.
The only real scenario your point applies to is if it's being bought as a surprise for a child who hasn't asked for a Wii, 360 or PS3 or even a DS or PSP for that matter.
However I do agree the price of the 360 will spur it on over xmas ...

There are undoubtedly a few system sellers in there but I'm not sure Home and Bioshock are system sellers, definitely not Bioshock I'd be amazed if that game swayed people to buy a PS3 over somethign else. Home is awesome but not sure it'll be a mass system seller the way a title like MGS4 or LBP or KZ2 would be. I think those 2 were just fillers for the list tbh.

When I first saw this game at this years E3 (yeah thats when I first heard of it personally lol) I thought it was a cool concept but not my kind of game.
I now have it preordered because everything shown since E3 has made it seemingly impossible not to want to at least try this game.
As for the review, a great overall score but the lasting appeal should easily have been a 10, there is nothing with as much lasting appeal as LBP as the possibilities are endless.
Those exclusives you're talking about aren't out yet genius and the only other one that was a system seller (MGS4) actually did sell systems.
I know I wouldn't buy a console a month ahead of time so it could sit there doing nothing, waiting for that game I want. Instead people that want a game such as oh say, LittleBigPlanet here in the UK and don't have a PS3 will be buying the just announced bundle of an 80 gig PS3 along with a DS3 and the game.

I got my copy of the game on preorder tho from play.com with the nariko character, would have preferred Kratos but that's the only preorder bundle I could find in the UK :(

Agree with you there Thom, the BR prices on play.com are awesome, no more than £3 or £4 from it's DVD equivalent. The only "significant" difference in price is when you buy a DVD without the second disc with bonus features which often go for like £9.99 but who really buys that stuff?

I had never really considered a PSP but looking at a few of the games and especially with the announcement of the connectivity of Resistence 2 and Resistence Retribution I'm definitely going to be picking one up, probably after the holidays though. Too much PS3 love between now and then lol.
I'd say people are waiting on the LBP bundle and WKC coming out.
Not to mention the Final Fantasy bundle with Advent Children dropping next year.
