You make a few valid points that I agree with, each console will have a skewed install base in a sense, you basically just built on what I said and expanded it to another platform. No doubt there are some people that did buy a new PS3 to upgrade their hard drive but for anyone that read the user manual I think they'd know you cna upgrade as I'm fairly certain there are instructions in there on how to do it but ofc I believe you're right not EVERYONE will have known about it, I know I didn't ...

True, they are more expensive to make, even that recent interview with Cliff from Epic games had a mention of him saying games were shorter now because of the production costs.

However, if piracy wasn't so rife they'd be almost guaranteed of selling more legitimate copies and maybe games would cost a little less, the same thing could be applied for the huge used game market, devs and publishers probably lose out on a bucketload because of that, alongside piracy that is a HUGE amo...

I'd argue that the 360 does have a skewed install base, in a sense.

How many people bought multiple systems because theirs broke down or upgraded to a new SKU (the Elite).

Either way the install base for both won't have been affected much due to both points (yours and mine) but I'd hazard a guess and say there are more 360s in circulation due to SKU upgrades and replacing busted machines than there are PS3's in circulation, purchased for the sole purpose of being a b...

I think you might have a point with it seeming a bit low. I'd imagine that rate would be higher if it wasn't for piracy, by how much I have no idea but surely it would be higher. That said though the attach rate is pretty good.

Here's why.

1. The game hasn't been leaked.

2. The PS3 hasn't been hacked and if a game is leaked it isn't available for download to the masses meaning spoilers like this don't find their way onto youtube and mainstream gaming sites.

Lose?

Lose what? The game is coming out for a platform that I already own, if when there is some info on what the game is about it sounds like something I want to play I'll play it regardless if it's a MS made/published game or not, despite what retarded conclusions you may have come to I'm not some rabid MS hater, I don't mind buying their products when they are worth buying.

If it really is a GOTY contender then awesome,I'll get to enjoy it too but I'll form my...

LOL

Ok mate here it is.

At worst, the gameplay footage from Heavy Rain is on par with this, imo it looks better in terms of detail but I guess that's subjective (for some people) so I'll let that one slide and not even bother arguing over opinions

The game won't look like this on the 360 mainly because of these 2 reasons, which are fact rather than opinon.

It won't be a full 1080p game (which this trailer is along with the screenshots) and w...

Oh you're 100% correct when you say they are game graphics, game graphics coming to a PC near you (and me funnily enough).

This isn't 360 graphics buddy, the 360 GAMEPLAY (which is what matters at the end of the day) won't look like that.

You see, the truth isn't really that hard to swallow now is it?

6302d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

That stuff isn't from the 360 buddy, it's from a PC cinematic lol.

Like I said before, it's almost up there with Heavy Rain's actual gameplay footage. If you want to talk about how good a game is visually.

You're right, it was all taken from PC with 4xAA and in 1080p.

Best looking cinematic trailer you mean?

It's almost up to par with Heavy Rain's gameplay footage I guess.

I've got to say the trailer makes the game look visually amazing but that's it's purpose, it's a trailer. It did it's job as a trailer.

I know this game is highly anticipated and people are getting hyped up but here you go have a wee read at this and bring yourselves back down to earth.

Q: What platform was used?
A: PC. The shots were taken in 1080p resolution (using 4xMSAA) and scaled down to 720p for web release. We are only releasing a few shots, and we want...

Having to subscribe $50 per year to access netflix on the 360 seems pretty lame.

PSP has started appealing to me lately but with all the console games coming out I'll be spending a lot of money on those and tbh I'd like to see if there is a cosistent and sustained stream of good releases for the PSP over the next 6 months or so before I fully commit to jumping into the PSP.

I've been looking forward to Motorstorm 2 and I enjoyed the demo so I'll definitely be buying the game. Had I not enjoyed it I'd have went and bought Pure, I thought the Pure demo was great and think the game probably is great too but wanted to wait for the MS2 demo because I do prefer the idea of trophies, custom soundtracks and a greater depth of vehicle choice along with some real competitive online racing, Pure (demo) was fun but it's all about tricks really which while not being a bad th...

Bringing up a metacritic score on an unreleased game.

Amazing.

Of course Capcom won't like it, why do you think these companies do what they do? It's all a business at the end of the day.

Look at it like this, with Sony giving them their own PS Store there is a wider audience that will see their products (you know like advertising through various mediums like TV/Billboards/back of a bus/radio?????) meaning they stand to make more cash. Sony have also given it's customers options on how to purchase their games (1st party mainly but more rec...

Personally I trust my own judgement.

Reviews from sites like IGN help paint a little bit of a picture and a general idea of what to expect from the point of view of one person (several if you read a few reviews) but that's only a feew people really.

I'll track a game from the moment it's announced to release if it interests me and I make my own reviews. People put too much stock in what some random joe on the internet thinks about a game.
