Where are you getting your numbers? Halo 3 has only sold around 12 million units exactly. Halo 4 is at 9 million. Considering that Halo 3 has been on the market for most of the 360's lifespan and that Halo 4 only came out in 2012, the 3 million or so difference in units sold is perfectly understandable.
I have to wonder where you are getting your numbers. The most recent statement I've seen says that it will have 32 story missions and 23 strikes, and even that was open to change.
...Seriously, it's a Beta. It's not meant to show off huge portions of the game, including areas or plot. It's meant to give people a taste of the gameplay, which was fantastic, and to allow Bungie to do stress tests to see how things hold up under a heavy load.
Except, that excuse died after Devs had years to 'get used to' the PS3. The difference between the 360 and the PS3 in terms of power is around the same as the difference between the PS4 and the X1. Which means there is absolutely no reason to expect games to look significantly better on the PS4.
I had a 360 last gen, so I wouldn't mind a remastered version of the Uncharted series. For people complaining about Sony not putting 'resources' toward new games, I'd say 'What?'. We've got the Order, Bloodborne, Uncharted 4 and more coming our way in the next year or so. Which is a pretty decent line up all things considered. So I'm not sure why some PS4 owners are so upset that Sony might give their new customers a chance to play some of their best games from...
Not really. A lot of people were fine with it. But anything negative about Destiny gets air time.
How do you figure? Unlike with the 360, MS is selling every Xbox One for a profit and it's matching and surpassing the 360 in sales during the same time frame.
Thing is, Cortana and Guilty Spark are essentially digitized people. Cortana is a 'mental clone' of Dr. Halsey and Guilty Spark has similar origins. They were meant to have emotions and seem human, because they were.
Ghost, on the other hand, comes from something entirely -not human-.
Shhhhh. Fanboys don't like logic.
It's called teenage fanboys whose ego is tied up in their console of choice. Frankly, I don't pay much attention to these articles because they are little more than clickbait for children.
Actually, it was;
1. Wii
2. 360
3. PS3
The 360 still has 1 to 2 million units on the PS3. The most likely line up for this gen will be;
1. PS4
2. X1
3. Wii U
Despite launching nearly a year after the Wii U, the X1 is quickly catching up in sales. There is no way it'll be third.
You ignore the fact that Halo 3 came out in 2007 and that Halo 4 only came out in late 2012. Also, your numbers are inaccurate. As of June, Halo 4 has hit 9 million sales. Chances are, if it had the same life time as Halo 3, it'd top it. In other words, Halo isn't dead at all. It's just hitting it's stride.
Pretty much. N4G is a joke nowadays. It approves articles like this that are little more than click-bait to get more views.
Last time I checked, the PS3 was still 1 or 2 million behind the 360.
How so? The X1 is matching and surpassing the 360's sales in the same time period, and they are actually selling it for a profit, unlike the 360 which they sold at a loss of over $100 initially. This is despite the fact that the 360 had no competition at launch and a much lower price point. I've seen nothing to indicate that MS is 'dissatisfied'.
While they've been making changes to make the console more competitive, that doesn't mean it's been se...
MS's reputation only took a hit to the hardcore gaming crowd, and even then they've mostly repaired it. The real test will come when the casuals start adopting new consoles.
@ TFJWM
It depends on your definition of great. The X1 is still selling better than the 360 did during the same time frame. In other words, Microsoft is well on it's way to expanding it's share of the console market.
If by great you mean it isn't selling as well as the PS4, then I have to ask, so what? The Wii dramatically outsold the 360 by a wide margin, but no one moaned about 'weak sales' because the 360 was selling better than the o...
@ BVFTW
Except, that wasn't the future the X1 promised, merely the preconception fanboys propagated and people ran with. Microsoft stated clearly that they had no intention of 'banning' used games, but that it would be up to the individual developers and publishers. Which is exactly the same as it is now and has always been. Devs can choose to implement DRM even on the current X1 and the PS4 if they actually wanted to.
And the much hated 'Alw...
@ ABizzel1
Except, most tech and gaming websites have stated that the PS4 is, at most, only around 50% more powerful than the X1, which is around the same difference between the PS3 and the 360. Yet even after over 7 years to learn about the PS3's unique set up, games still looked almost exactly the same between the two.
So for most of the world, who only care about performance and not abstract hardware numbers, the 'power' of each system won'...
Really? I didn't own a PS3 last generation, so after playing the Last of Us on my PS4, I can say that I for one am grateful that the Remastered edition exists, otherwise I never would've gotten the chance to pick it up. And guess what? There are a lot of people just like me who didn't get a chance to play it last gen. We are the people that the Remastered edition targets, not people like you who just played it a year ago and likely still own it on the PS3.
