Start at post #4953 if you want to know what GAF thinks of the scabs at Dual Shockers.

Stig's game was probably supposed to be their big holiday release. The situation isn't ideal, but E3 should alleviate any concerns about upcoming releases.

1) The Witcher series isn't exactly a sales juggernaut.
2) They're aimed at completely different markets. I'm buying both, but I suspect most people that decide one over the other will have done so without being terribly troubled by the decision.

Dateru
That affects time of day, not the sense of speed.

Yeah, one review is statistically relevant and grants you the title of N4G Soothsayer. Jackass.

Project Cars is a sim and will be doing many more calculations, all at twice the frame rate. Something has to give and in this case, it's geometry and effects. Still, as a sim fan, I'd rather have the physics and responsiveness that Project Cars will offer. I'm sure I'll still play the hell out of Driveclub with friends. The sense of speed in the Canada video was insane!

Well, you dolt, they're saying that DX12 won't help that much because it's designed to let devs get closer to the metal and optimize the way a console can. The X1, as you might well know, is a console. The CPU and GPU are already optimized to the point that DX12 probably won't help that much.
Another point that is often made (one you conveniently seem to ignore) is that optimization only brings you closer to the potential of the hardware. Since X1 has weaker hardware,...

Yes, and his ban was lifted some time ago. Interesting that you left that out.

A little subsurface scattering would go a long way toward ridding the models of that plastic look.

Being offered as a PS Plus release could help them quite a bit though. Get people hooked on the core game, then offer them more cars and tracks for a little extra. Being free also has the advantage of easily establishing the franchise.

Because the television I game on is at the foot of my bed and the light reflects off the screen. The fact that you hadn't even considered that possibility shows that you didn't really think about it. In that case, there was nothing for you to "get" and no reason for you to comment. But hey, some people just like to be first. Nice to have options, eh?

It was never interlaced. It's interpolated and requires quite a bit of processing power. My guess is that they refined the algorithm.

Edit: Never mind, saw your post history and now know what a ignorant troll you are. You'd think someone that comments on tech and software articles as much as you wouldn't be such a know-nothing loudmouth.

That's because of the way patches are currently being handled. It's re-downloading all the previous patches. Total HDD footprint will increase only a small fraction of that, however. Still sucks if you have a cap though.

Agreed. Hoping 1.7 addresses the issue. I'd love to see a return to patches 1/10 the current size.

They always needed a large pool (8GB) of RAM. At the time the general architecture was being planned, it looked like GDDR5 would only be available at a max of 4GB, so they had to go with the DDR3. From the start, rumors pointed to Sony using 4GB of GDDR5. They still would have had the most powerful system, but MS would have more memory for features (3GB vs 0.5-1.0GB), which is presumably how they were planning to market the machine. We all know how that turned out though. N...

The thing is, the embedded RAM is there to fix the bottleneck created by the DDR3, so technically it isn't the bottleneck. If it wasn't there, X1 would struggle even more. MS just bet on the wrong horse (no one expected 8GB of GDDR5 to become viable before launch) and are going to have to spend the life of the system trying to mitigate the effects. But, a hardware limitation will always be just that.
