I remember Best Buy trying to get movie preorders going, seemed like either the general consumer saw past it, or movies just didn't have the same value to people. Either way, I haven't seen anything from anywhere else asking me to put down my $20 for the extended special limited tin box Bluray for a while now.
Fair question, I hope Ubisoft doesn't start thinking this is a great idea, but for games I know I want like GTA/Witcher/Dragon Age - I would gladly put the money down well in advance to get more stuff.
solid summary of all the announce/awards - good stuff.
I agree, I'm all for mixing it up, but what about the players that didn't get the DLC? Just sit it out for a week?
While I picked up the expansion pass, this is just a poor move in general, or at least one that should have been disclosed way in advance to the DLC launching. Pulling the rug out from under players on what is essentially the only post-game content if they don't buy DLC just comes off as shady, even if they had noble intentions.
Fascinating video and a cool series I didn't know was around. Keep up the good work and I'll keep watching.
Color me cautiously optimistic on this one. I feel it's gotten some bad press for the 30fps comments and what not, but it does look pretty cinematic and overall pretty visually stunning. We'll find out if it's worth anything soon enough.
Yes, and since most games were announced as multiplatform, it made sense. At the outset it looked to me like PS4 was the clear frontrunner, and as an MS only person last gen, it was a decision to get those series (removed: games) I didn't get by not owning a PS3.
Totally agree with all these points. Well put.
I just think it's going to be tough to salvage any story in Destiny. I hope they do, but retcon/shoving it in post-launch isn't easy especially since it was so clearly just stripped to the bones at launch.
Here's hoping Destiny 2 will be a lot of the same gameplay, but just amplified and refined with a better story.
This is the reason I bought my PS4 first. MLB The Show and TLOU were nice compliments, but after that footage I'm very excited to see this.
Yeah there are a few I found that were cool art, but the center was the focus, and it's tough to see behind the tiles.
Agreed. There are some rational voices out there in the movement, and there are some good discussions to be had. The other side of that is when the two "sides" start screaming at each other and nothing is accomplished. Meanwhile I just need more tapir hides for this wallet upgrade...
I remain cynical that the world premieres will be something about a new mode or exclusive content, and not really anything of large value. I hope I'm wrong, since 2015 is still relatively blank in terms of the game releases.
Actually excited to see what goes down, calling a Joel Mchale appearance.
Understandable, weird to note that no other GTA's are currently banned in Australia beyond one for music issues.
Totally agree - I'm playing now and thinking about my next character already. But I'm concerned I'll do just as I did with Skyrim for a few months after release. Play one character for 100+ hours, start about 3-4 other ones but won't really dive in to one for half a year after the game comes out.
Regardless the game is incredible. I like having Far Cry to change the pace drastically too, hoping Game of Thrones isn't too similar of a political/fantasy feel ...
Good point on the fragments - there are 10 Ubisoft "branches" that worked on Unity.
10 cooks in the kitchen. One might say...too many cooks.
Nice write up - I think it comes down to how the company itself handles the issues. It's the cool thing to hate Ubisoft right now, and though they most certainly don't do everything, and really a whole lot at all the right way, they're just the ones with targets on them.
The Madden example is a good one, EA had fun with it, featured Kirksey in Ultimate Team if I remember right, then patched immediately.
I wanted to check out WWE, and was really ...
No. Campbell states "My point is that this portrayal of them reinforces hard ideas about the worthlessness of prostitutes, in ways that are unique to this class of characters in the game."
I just don't subscribe to that theory in any respect.
ANY character in the game has the value that you assign to it - I could easily see the prostitutes as normal parts of the world, I don't know why they're in the field they are, but I imagine it wasn...
