This series just caught my eye but it's pretty good, valid points for the Xbone and PS4, and I like that the UI/UX is on both lists, because frankly they need a lot of work.
Damn good list, looking forward to seeing some really good horror stuff this year. I want Silent Hills but not positive it's coming in 2015.
Will be interesting to see what 'select titles' they allow guaranteed $30 toward Dying Light will be.
nothing really great in there, the post-holiday lull indeed.
And no links to any sources or images of the postings, and it's posted as opinion when it's a rumor...might as well be wild speculation as far as I'm concerned.
True, but we could always have the "coming in Oct...I mean 2016" thing again
Peculiar choices - SFV exclusivity could have been lumped with Rise of the Tomb Raider. No mention of Minecraft sale, broken launches, etc. I agree with the winner though, that was a huge step in the right direction and clearly helped.
Could be interesting - Crimes and Punishments was pretty good, I can already see some parallels to the style but this game has some really cool subject matter to work with.
Cool to see it might see light on XBO - this one interests me, even though all I can recall seeing is that brief teaser. Hopefully we get a Shocktober release.
Interesting point - I actually thought about this while writing. I'm not expecting Ubi or any other dev/publisher to exponentially improve on their previous year or titles, a down year is totally understandable, but this past year was full of more questionable decisions and shady dealings than they've ever been part of.
Maybe they're struggling to find new ways to extend products or make enough money to continue to fund huge AAA projects, so they're putting mi...
I think it was a little underhanded to say they'd reach out to the freelancer, as you said, they do represent IGN, therefore it's fair to blame IGN and it's right on their front page for that day.
If I hire someone and they mess up, I'm going to hold them accountable and take responsibility as an editor of the site, in that example, we all made a mistake and need to own it.
I'm pretty sure they were at a review event for MCC and they don't update their reviews as far as I know, so all they were able to review was a controlled environment playthrough.
Not saying they were right, but I had the experience of reviewing AC Unity and didn't have any glitches but one pretty minor one that caused a reload, they have to review on what they played/experienced.
Nice review - didn't know this was coming out but it looks pretty cool
I disagree that preordering is a result of thinking stores will run out, I honestly don't remember the last time a store ran out of a game I wanted. Shipments are usually plentiful enough - Preorders are usually a result of some sort of incentive, be it in-game, physical, or store related (Best Buy in US does $10 back if you preorder).
I do agree that preorders are poison in general, it allows games to come out unfinished and we as consumers are showing interest in games...
Good point - there's also a huge problem of showing things off too early - Watch_Dogs was a big culprit, but sometimes it's better to hold things off until we get a look at what the game might actually look like when it comes out, instead of 'conceptual prototypes'
They updated their story to reflect credit - does not make it ok - good on TGC for going after them
Totally agree- after Unity I was terrified that Far Cry would be garbage. Luckily it was damn good in my opinion, even if it was more of the same from FC3. I'm still not sure of anything with the Ubi logo, they've got some ground to make up in the trust department.
There are definitely still some good values in the bundles out there, so I think they'll have some solid January sales. They've just lost that competitive edge of being the cheapest, which clearly really helped them out. It'll be interesting to see how Jan/Feb go.
I actually like the panda one more lol goes with the sites theme/logo
That does present a cool way for them to kind of shift the focus of the game, and that interests me, I'm just concerned about the leaning on QTE's I've heard of. I know they're going for this whole "filmic" thing, and honestly the game looks pretty great, but I just can't commit to this one until I see a review.
