I don't think anyone believed they would, certainly if they were thinking that, by now with all the uproar they would have ditched the idea. I actually think we'll see Online Passes for every game next gen to combat used sales, which I'm fine with.
Honestly I think companies like used games, it means their games are selling, new people get the chance to pick them up and might get interested in a series and buy the next game new.
Microsoft created and funds 343i. The whole purpose of 343i is to create Halo games, and Microsoft has been known to push to charge for extra content a lot of the time, so the fact that they give away free content on their biggest game is surprising.
Just imagine the games people would have missed out on if they traded in their PS3's when it got off to such a slow start? Now days people have no patience.
Key word "rumor". Last year were you convinced the PS4 wouldn't play used games? That was the rumor at that time.
Funny how people pick and choose what they want to believe.
Whatever happened to waiting and seeing what the actual company itself has to say? People salivating with anger over rumors...and all I can do is laugh at them...I mean if it's on the internet it must be true! lol
lol
The funny thing is that so many people claim Microsoft is greedy and doesn't care about core gamer's or gamer's in general, but Halo 4 released reasonably price map packs and now free maps, tons of free game modes and even free episodic Spartan Ops.
Cant wait to get this! The Halo community really is one of a kind.
It probably needs a break, but I seriously doubt Sony lets their biggest selling new IP take one. Naughty Dog has already said the engine for Uncharted is ready for next gen and upscales. I wouldn't be shocked if they had an Uncharted game to show off at their E3 event this year, wont be a launch title, but I'd suspect it'll come out in 2014.
Uh oh, looks like Sony is abandoning the core gamer! /s

Wow, talk about ignorant. You sit there and act as if every American is like that, it just goes to show how sad you are when it comes to stereotypes.
I don't like rap, I never watch reality television and the only thing I know about Kim Cardashian is that she is dating some bad rapper. So please stop generalizing Americans, I play COD, love COD, but you know who I run into every single game on COD? British people who go around trying to no scope and q...
Doesn't COD sell the most games every single year and break their own record at the same time every single launch? I'd take that as some people obviously care about COD.
The fact that there's like a million users on BO2 right now says a lot.
We usually don't see the next COD until the NBA playoffs, so it's not quite time yet. You'd have to be pretty thick to think we wont get a new COD this year though, probably current and next gen versions. Imagine the sales for COD spanning new and old consoles? Crazy to think about.
If the game had released at the same time as the others it probably would have sold relatively well. The new title update has actually fixed the other console versions and it's not nearly as bad as it was, supposedly the Wii U version was the definitive version, I was kind of looking forward to another play-through utilizing the Gamepad.
So Sony is in it for more than making money? I love the mentality of fanboys, no company cares about you personally, they are all in it for stocks and shareholders and that is all.
If you buy into corporate propaganda I feel sorry for you, to think there are people out there that believe a gaming company cares about anything other then the bottom line is laughable. Sony cares just as much as Nintendo and Microsoft..
Consoles need personality, said it before and I'll say it again. This would be a pretty soulless design in my opinion.
Since it was said that Blizzard had it running on Xbox 360 last year, I'd say there's a good chance.
I usually buy around 50 games a year, 40 are usually new and the rest used, but I also bring games over to a buddy's house and game, I also rent via Gamefly, so I prefer there to be used games.
I don't see Microsoft allowing people to rent games via Gamefly for only Sony and Nintendo consoles, same with walking into a Gamestop, they aren't going to allow the Microsoft brand not to be evident.
I'm excited to finally hear some real news on the...
Well if it's on the Internets it must be true!
I guess we are to the point where we're willing to believe something because we are afraid it might be true, or in the case for the majority of N4G, they want it to be true.
I think we are progressing towards an always online future, I just want the chance to be able to play games if my internet is down. We don't know any facts, all this speculation is ridiculous, even if some documents from early in 2012 wer...
That's why they'll continue to sell the 360's even after the 720 launches, still gonna get great third party support and it doesn't cost them much to make, even with a price drop those things will still earn MS money.
Gamers.
The funny thing is, Microsoft doesn't want to piss off retailers for Xbox things, but also because they sell a ton of other things at retailers. If they were to tick them off, it could spell big trouble for Microsoft.
This is exactly the reason they wont do always online or block used games, would mean suicide. I know Microsoft gets the most flack on this site, but as far as I'm concerned, they haven't pushed the digital agenda as much as the other companies, whi...
