Yea, it was a launch date game on the Xbox 360, I spent massive amounts of time in the multiplayer. I was pretty evenly split between Perfect Dark Zero and COD2 when the 360 launched back in 2005.
It means there are still three consoles to choose from, I have a Wii U, and will be getting the Xbox One when it launches, I think as gamer's a lot of us like more than one console so we can play exclusives ect... I believe Nintendo has some of the best exclusives in the business, which is why I always get a Nintendo console.
I'm so excited for E3, and this news just makes everything sweeter. The fact that so many games are going to be shown off just impresses me and makes me happy.
Please show off something like a new HD Zelda game, Smash Bro's and Metroid!
Take notes Nintendo! Offer controllers at launch! Still waiting on two Gamepad compatibility.
Not sure about the PS4, but I'm confident the Xbox One will launch for $299.
Nice! Happy to see some positive things come out here. Rare made four or five of my Xbox 360 favorites this generation, Kameo, Viva Pinata 1 & 2, Perfect Dark Zero and Banjo Kazooie Nutes&Bolts!
Hopefully they do a full platform version of Banjo for the Xbox One, or a new Killer Instinct!
I think it'll be $299, Microsoft obviously were cost conscious with the Xbox One, no motorized parts in Kinect, which is what drove the cost up in the original Kinect, 8 gigs of DDR3 is retailing for $40 or less, so they get it for much less.
Looks like they'll have only one SKU, so I could see $299, outside chance of $399, which is still pretty good, and the price point of the Xbox 360.
Neither one showed in game footage, but Forza always looks brilliant. Forza will be a day one for me, you just get so much out of those games.
Halo 2 HD, and a price drop to $99 for the Xbox 360. Could also have a Xbox 360 super slim or something? E3 is going to be huge for Microsoft.
Guess it puts to rest all the questions about if they'd support the Xbox 360 after the Xbox One comes out, so many ignorant people thought they'd just drop it, but that wouldn't make any sense, it's cheap to produce, third parties will support it like crazy for years, and 80 million people have one. They also haven'...
I don't mean to disappoint you, but it's already been reported that Microsoft's console will grow in power in time, and these guys are developers, so I think they know a bit more than you about these consoles.
They are going to both put out great looking games, so who cares which one will have an extra spec of dust on the screen?
I think there is a huge difference between disagreeing with something, and being ignorant/ranting about it.
I have a very positive outlook for the Xbox One, I'm going to buy one, I want to see the games come E3, the price point and release date. I have a feeling all the used game stuff will be worked out for the best in the end. That's really the only issue I have at this point.
They will take a loss on the console, Kinect had motors and moving parts, Kinect 2 doesn't. I'd seriously be shocked if it were more than $350, my guess is $299
System wide achievement system and games are all I want.
It's the hypocrisy that bugs me, I mentioned I'd like to have seen the PS4 at that reveal, and I was hit with "The looks don't matter", now that we've seen the Xbox One, they matter again. Little fishy stuff like that, cant wait until something negative pops up..
Kinect isn't going to cost a lot, there are no motors or moving parts, if MS wants these in all homes I see a $299 price point. DDR3 isn't expensive, there's nothing really expensive in the console.
It's not as clear as you're saying, hence this article.
I saw the same thing, CNN and my local news were both very much praising Microsoft yesterday. Depending on price point, it could do very well this holiday... The Xbox 360 could do well with a price cut as well.
Considering the lack of mentioning it as a gaming controller this time around, I bet we get a lot of minor Kinect uses with games, but mostly it'll be reserved for navigation and as the heart of the Xbox One.
Wow, looks night and day compared to the first Kinect. I think the last 3 years were a beta test on the Xbox 360, Kinect integration, SmartGlass and seeing how people reacted to more entertainment features.
If it's done well, I'm all for it, but I think it obviously has to stay mostly as an option, and work.
If you look at the new Kinect, it's just a camera, there are no motorized parts whatsoever, which is what brought the cost up on the original Kinect.
Microsoft wants this in everyone's home yes? The specs were right on with what the leaked documents suggested they would be. Those same documents that Microsoft admitted were theirs, stated a price point of $299. Microsoft co-developed the chip themselves, 8 gigs of DDR3 is like $40 retail for me, not for Microsoft. Mos...
