The people stuck in last gen sure didn't seem very enthusiastic about the PS4 version of Hitman 3. Honestly if this game wasn't a true PS5 exclusive, it would be getting less attention than it already is. The fact that it isn't cross-gen when so many games are is going to get people interested who would definitely skip it otherwise.
Lol everytime they announce a State of Play, people decide that they want it to be E3+Games on+PSX and end up being really disappointed.
Well, so much for all those rumors/speculation that they were going to take over Konami IP.
@Tacoboto
You seem to misunderstand the analogy. The point is the fact that decision X does not lead to result Y in 100% of situations is insufficient to prove that decision X cannot lead to result Y. Cigarettes are an easy example because everyone basically understands they can lead to harmful results, and that one instance of them not doing so does not disprove the general rule that they can lead to harmful results.

Being one of them in this case, sure (since apparently saying one Microsoft device is superior to another Microsoft device qualifies you as a Sony fanboy now). But the point about Series S remains the same: it's a weaker system, and its specs are eventually going to either hold the Series X back or result in reduced performance.
See: ht...
Lol I acknowledged I was wrong before you commented. It's literally right above your comment.
Well played.
No, this must be wrong. I've been told that if you say the magic words "1440p console" and "scalability," RAM and GPU issues will cease to exist, and games will run exactly the same on Series S as they do on Series X, just at a lower resolution.
Parts of this are right. People who have gotten into gaming post-2010 probably think this is exaggerated because games media now is very much going for the "we're above console wars" vibe, but in 2006-2007 they were rampantly anti-Playstation. Like people were tripping over themselves to make comparisons to the Dreamcast (even though PS3 probably sold as much in its first year as Dreamcast sold in its entire lifecycle). And they'd constantly emphasize the fact that 360 alway...
PS4 and Xbox One in 2022? Why?
@TheLigX
"There is the media narrative that painted us as heroes going in to save the Iraqi people"
What? What media are you talking about? This may have been the case from very particular media outlets, but people were always sharply divided on the Iraq war, and the media (again, with the exception of decidedly conservative outlets) was particularly critical. People were making Vietnam comparisons before the war even started. This only increase...
@neutralgamer1992
What does "enough" mean? With only 5-6ish million PS5s sold, the sales of new AAA games (other than things like COD and NBA2K) have already taken a dive on PS4. That is going to get worse and worse as more people secure PS5s. If there are 15 million PS5 owners by the time God of War comes out, that is enough. And I know people say "well the prior game sold 20ish million, so that would leave some people out still." Those God of War PS4 2...
@Storm23
It's baffling to me how Sony hasn't figured out that the "happy with PS4" consumer playing GTA Online and watching Netflix is not the same demographic as the "I'll be buying a PS5 within a year of launch" consumer. Most of the "install base" people are so worried about leaving behind has probably played fewer than two first-party games all gen. Most of them are probably more likely to own 3 Assassin's Creed games on PS4...
@Masterchief3624
In the sense that the game will be limited to accommodate PS4 with no justification whatsoever. People constantly parrot the "install base" and "don't leave 120 million behind" fallacies, but by 2022 the only games people will still be buying on PS4 will be sports games, COD, and GTA.
In fact, this is already happening. Spiderman:MM was the 2nd best selling game on PS5 last year, but wasn't top ten on PS4. Hitm...
If God of War comes out in 2022 and it's cross gen, that's going to be devastating.
True Edginess: The Comment.
Gosh I hope if it really is cross-gen that is how they are doing it. I won't be nearly as annoyed if the prior-gen version is just a more limited version of the game and the current gen version isn't held back by it. How that will work for cross-gen multiplayer is another issue; perhaps there will only be certain modes that the two versions can play together (such as the inevitable Firestorm follow-up).
See, your comment is getting into the arbitrary. "Flourishing wildlife and vegetation" is a subjective term, so this is just an instance where people like you decided what they expected the game to be, then said "the liezzz" when it was different than what you concocted in your head.
The game absolutely had wind and storms at launch, so you are outing yourself a little bit on that one.
Also it had spaceships, so I'm going to assume...
Yes, some of those things were scaled down (fleets are in the game, just smaller than in old trailers).
But I'll return to my point that it was fair to be disappointed the game was scaled down (as so many games are), but you should have been disappointed when they showed the game in the months before release and it was not what the trailers from 2013-14 looked like.
Put differently, if I tell you that I'm going to sell you a Porsche for $10,000 d...
Yeah I really wish they had stuck to March. I assume the delay was necessary for polish, but I do think that would have been better timing.
Not that I don't think it's going to be good (I'll certainly be buying it, as it's really the only thing on my radar before Deathloop), but I do think this will end up on PS Plus by December.
