I would say this is the strongest position they've been in since the $599 price announcement for PS3. They'll never get a gift quite like that one again.
This might save this game.
Yep. Devs had crossplay working between PS3 and 360 and MS wouldn't let it happen. (Source: https://kotaku.com/i-saw-th... Then when they had the smaller playerbase, they magically became all in favor of crossplay. If the Series X ever gets bigger than PS5 (I get how unlikely this is, but I'm saying as a hypothetical), crossplay will start to fade out under "concern...
I used to think the dumbest thing ever put on the internet was me as a kid posting about how so many Xbox 360 games had short campaigns because they had to cram everything on DVDs, therefore justifying the Blu-Ray drive in the PS3.
Now I think that is only the second dumbest thing ever posted on the internet.
This. Unfortunately everytime you point out how bad the controller was, people think you are telling them that Ocarina of Time wasn't a great game, and they get super defensive.
Haha the N64 kids would get so mad when I pointed out that the controllers were designed for someone with three hands....and it looks like decades later they still do.
"Too many people just wrongly assume you should be able to hold both the D-Pad and analog at the same time."
The fact that it is wrong to assume that you should be able to use the controller in a logical fashion says everything that needs to be said.
Lol I think even the most hardcore physical media people on here will agree that this guy should have gone digital.
Although a good number of people who just buy COD and FIFA probably don't even know that you can get those games without buying the disc, and still think of digital games as smaller titles.
Remember guys, Kojima invented the hallway and owns the concept forever and ever.
I don't know. I spent the entire PSP generation talking about how if Sony made a handheld with a second analog nub, or better yet sticks, it would be crazy successful, and we saw how that went. I will say that I agree that the memory cards were a big issue. People now have forgotten, but when they announced the Vita price (without mentioning the price of necessary memory cards) people were super hyped. I do wonder what it would have been like if it had launched at $249-299, had 8gb-16gb b...
This is so good. DLSS 2.0 is awesome, so if the AMD version is anywhere near as good, I will be thrilled. And with this, there will really be no good excuse for games not hitting a solid 60 fps.
Yep, can't wait to see that.
PS Aim support! Take notes, IO Interactive.
Is this game about Adam Orth?
Yeah, there are definitely a lot of people on here now pushing the "30 fps is unacceptable" line who happily played games in the mid 20s fps and probably didn't know what framerate was five years ago.
I think the haters' obsession with TLOU2 and the fact that they think and talk about it more than any of the games they supposedly think are better is some of the best evidence in favor of the game.
I had a way harder time getting a PS3 than I did a PS4 or PS5. That being said, it does seem like the PS5 supply really dried up from about Christmas until a few weeks ago. Fortunately Sony is doing Directs pretty regularly again, so the people paying attention should have plenty of chances.
@Muzikguy
When I say "no one," I don't mean it will sell literally zero copies, I just mean it won't do well. Look at the January PSN chart: in the US and Europe, Hitman 3 was #2 on PS5, but was down at #17 in the US on PS4, and didn't chart at all in Europe. The people who get on sites like this and pay attention to games outside of the very mainstream have largely already moved on to PS5.
Too bad no one is going to buy it there. It will probably be 15 spots lower on the PS4 charts than PS5 charts on PSN the month it releases, if it charts on PS4 at all.
Unfortunately I think the PS4 success made them complacent like the PS2 success did. They are smart enough now not to actively sabotage themselves like they did in 2006, but it honestly feels as if they believe they are too big for this to hurt them. I mean, their response to MS spending 7+ billion on a top tier publisher was to spend a billion dollars on an anime streaming service, so I think we can see where their priorities are.
That being said, this won't really sta...
