Seriously. Making this a true PS5 game rather than a cross-gen game was a huge decision. Had it been cross-gen no one would be talking about it, and I probably would have skipped it.
Yep, I'd love to see this get patched in, but it may be against the sanctity of a rogue like or something like that.
It's nice to finally get some credit. Let me know if you need me to help you make life decisions in other areas.
The only legitimately negative thing I've seen so far seems to be the lack of any sort of save system mid-run. Venturebeat knocked the controls, which I was concerned about, but since they are apparently customizable, that seems to be a moot point.
Exactly. If you are going to say "going in guns blazing isn't an effective strategy in this game," let me figure that out myself by playing. Make the game reflect why it's a bad (or at least consequential) decision to use guns. Don't just take them out of the game.
I'm not saying this will be a bad game, but this is just a specific design choice that feels like a step backwards.
Sure. I mean it's their game so they can do what they want. If they want to force me to use inverted controls and have a bizarre button layout, they can do that too. They could also have Get Low by Lil Jon play over and over in the background of the game the entire time you are playing. These choices could be their vision for the game, I'm just going to have an opinion on it if I dislike those decisions. I don't understand the idea that because a game dev made a choice, I shouldn&...
Unfortunately, as with Warzone, Firestorm adds armor and other nonsense that warps the underlying gunplay.
Right, so why not let the player decide if they want to use guns, even if they aren't the focus? Hitman is a stealth game, so why not remove automatic weapons and shotguns?
I know lol. Should have added the /s, but thought it would be implicit.
Disappointing about the lack of guns. If I'm "not supposed to play" the game in a certain way, it should be communicated through gameplay systems, rather than by removing features. Like I'm not supposed to play Hitman like a shooter, running around wreaking havoc, but the game allows me to do that, it just does not work well. If Dying Light 2 doesn't want me to use guns, they should be rare and there should be gameplay consequences for using them.

But BF V sucks because that one guy in that one trailer had a prosthetic arm.
Wrong. I lived through this era, and unfortunately was too young and dumb at the time to know that when I got my Gameboy Pocket, it would become obsolete in like a year. There were a few games that were still available for Gameboy, but plenty of the major games were only on Color. This is not just anecdotal either, there are significant lists online of the Color exclusive games.
Honestly I don't understand why everyone is so desperate to retcon this (it's not as if ...
People need to stop lumping Game Boy Color with Game Boy. That's like lumping 3DS with DS or Vita with PSP.
But it won't hurt PS5 games to have them on PS4 as well. Why leave 115 million gamers behind? We all know the old install base is still buying new games. Plus scalpers bought all the PS5s and are holding them in a warehouse, for some reason.
/s.
Fair enough. My point is just that usually when someone says "I'm picking up game X instead of game Y," they are talking about two games launching in a somewhat similar timeframe. Like I'm sure you will buy and play a number of other games between the launch of Returnal and the launch of Forspoken. So that's why it seemed weird to suggest you are going for Forspoken instead of Returnal, when in fact it really seems like you are just skipping Returnal and then getting a d...
@Orchard
Exactly. And my question with those games is whether you actually end up playing them, or do you just boot them up to check them out and then end up moving back to things you either spent money on or would have paid full price for but for Gamepass.
I actually wonder if it's true in all cases that being on game pass results in more people actually playing a game (as opposed to just testing it out). I know I'm much more likely to ignore the games I got for cheap in steam sales than ones I paid full price for, and it wouldn't surprise me if the same dynamic frequently plays out with people on Gamepass. Like MS is always quick to cite number of total players for games like Sea of Thieves but they never say how many have played t...
@Magog
I'm optimistic PS5 games will continue to look better, but we can't say it's a done deal yet. Remember that in the first 18 months or so of its life cycle, PS3 versions of games frequently looked and ran worse than their 360 counterparts, but by the end of the gen PS3 had the most impressive looking games. Also it hasn't been universally better on PS5 so far; Hitman 3 looked better in a few minor ways on XSX (though there were some associated performa...
Lol see you in 2023.
You called me an arbiter. Maybe you should look up the definition of that word (hint, it has to do with making decisions). Not sure where the tribalism aspect comes into play, that feels unrelated to anything being discussed.
