You have to hand it to them with this strategy. When you read how government regulator types talk about the games industry, it's clear that the vast majority of them have little or no idea what's going on. To someone with no concept of how meaningless these deals are, MS signing deals with all these companies makes it seem like they are super flexible.
Yep. Unfortunately gamers as a whole were too immature to understand that a story that makes you mad and legitimately makes you hate a character is good writing, not bad. I can't remember the last time a movie/book/TV Show got me to truly hate a character like that, but I'd consider it a masterpiece if it did evoke such a reaction.
Unfortunately gamers-who for years had criticized ND for playing it so safe with Uncharted and repeating the same story line-got mad at...
People saying "Sony is crying about Starfield being exclusive" and "well what about FF16/SH2 Remake/etc being exclusive on Playstation" are missing the point. Sony doesn't care about Starfield being exclusive. The point is that prior to the Bethesda purchase being approved, MS made statements that, were regulators to allow the deal to go through, it would not make financial sense for MS to make future Bethesda exclusive. That deal was approved, and then MS immediately ...
Starfield will sell a good amount on Steam.
But they difference is that devs aren't going to put effort into specific settings for random knock off competitors, nor is a community going to rally around and $800 Sanyo 7600 or whatever nonsense.
KFC been trash ever since they got rid of the fiery buffalo sauce. Since then their buffalo sauces have always been some kind of creamy nonsense where it's buffalo mixed with ranch or mayonnaise or something similarly awful. What kind of a chicken restaurant doesn't have a true buffalo sauce?
That's good. If there were different SKUs introduced every years or two, compatibility would become a mess. And yes, I know PC devs are used to targeting a wide range of specs, but a lot of devs (with help from the community in some instances) are making a special effort to make their games work well on Steam Deck. If there were 3-4 sets of Steam Deck specs they had to target, I bet we'd see a lot less of that effort.
We used maths.
? This has been available since launch.
Also tons of hard loading screens. Those places where you get to a short loading wheel when you are about to open a door on PS5 will likely be pretty long loading screens on PS4. There will also probably be loading screens on some of the places where there are seamless transitions on PS5 (like going into the stores in Hogsmeade, etc.). Kind of like how when you left a building in Miles Morales on PS5 you'd just shoot out into New York, but on PS4 there were loading screens.
I guess someone forgot to tell the BG3 devs about scalability.
Also, while we're here, anyone else remember when Albert Penello claimed Series S was going to outperform PS5? https://wccftech.com/penell...
Good times.
True. Seems to be the Gamepass Effect. It seems like when a game isn't on GP, Playstation sales in the UK are more like 80% of the total, whereas when a game is on GP, Playstation sales are usually 90%+.
Lol the PS5 version of Wo Long outsold the PS4 version by more than 12-1 (89% of total sales on PS5, 7% on PS4).

This. If cross gen is going to last anywhere near as long next time as it did this time, it would be better to skip the mid gen refreshes and just bring out the next generation even sooner.
Yeah the "Sony moneyhatting Square Enix to get an exclusive" situation always seems like a better deal for Square than Sony, because they were already going to sell far more copies of their games on Playstation than on Xbox. If they can get Sony to throw them a bunch of money and still sell almost as many copies as they were going to sell anyway (plus cutting out or delaying the costs of porting the game depending on whether it is full or timed exclusive), why not do it?
It's crazy how people land positions at gaming websites without having a basic understanding of how to navigate game menus and explore options. Frequently games get criticized for cluttered UIs that are entirely customizable or a lack of accessibility features that can easily be turned on or off.
I wish people would stop complaining about the lack of teleportation modes in modern VR games. That's like complaining about not being able to use tank controls in a modern third person action game - it's an outdated form of control that the medium has graduated past.
But how will the game succeed when it is leaving 115 million behind? After all, the evidence has repeatedly shown that it's the netflix-watching casuals with dusty base PS4s who are buying games, not the hardcore who have PS5s.

Sounds like you have put a lot of effort into researching the upgrade for a game you only played for two hours lol.
Far Cry 2. People constantly rant about games now being too easy, holding your hand, having too many unnecessary RPG-lite leveling features, etc. People specifically complain about open world games being too focused on tons of collectibles and "checkmarks" that just waste time.
Far Cry 2 is an answer to all of those complaints. It was made by Ubisoft before they fell into all the traps discussed above (and before they started inserting towers into their games to d...
