Seriously, try to think of the last time you've seen so many outlets publish essentially the same article in such a short timespan. Did Screenrant really think they are adding anything to the discussion by recycling the same piece a number of other outlets have run in the last few days?

I'm not sure why you are getting downvoted; you are right. If dev times are longer, the only way to keep releasing the same amount of games (or more) is to have more teams.

They own tons of studios though, and many of them have multiple teams.

Remember that many of the same people defending 30fps in Starfield based on sandwiches clowned on 30fps in A Plague Tale: Requiem based on rats. And that game probably had about 15% of the budget of Starfield.

This might be the most coordinated I've seen games media since the push for the original Titanfall.

Seriously. I'm not going to buy into the talking points the YouTubers/games journalists have clearly been fed about needing to expect 30 fps moving forward. If Spider-Man 2 or the next Ghost of Tsushima doesn't have a 60 fps mode, I'm going to be mad.

People are saying 60 fps is already confirmed for Spider-Man 2, but no one cites a source.

Lol. But look for plenty of other games to run at only 30 fps in the next few years, even on Series X and PS5. If you look at the narrative around Starfield, you can see that many of the YouTubers/game critics/journalists who were the staunchest proponents of 60 fps even a few months ago have now changed their tune to "well 30 fps on console has to be expected, that has been the standard for several generations, if you want higher framerates play on PC." These talking points will fi...

Yeah since cross-gen periods are apparently going to last several years at a time anyway, mid-gen upgrades are a bit redundant. If the Series X/PS5 are going to be supported 3 years into the next gen, I'd rather just have that next gen start sooner rather than prolong this one.

Gosh who on Earth has a PC with good enough specs to run modern games but still uses a slow HDD?

So what you are saying is there isn't a rainbow connection?

1104d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yep. I've given up on thinking "this is finally the price that is so high that Apple fanboys will wake up."

1108d ago 8 agree4 disagreeView comment

But won't you want to buy it if they make a cool commerical with shadows dancing to a Jet song?

1108d ago 6 agree0 disagreeView comment

Except everyone writing those articles probably spends over $1000 on apple products every year anyway, so I'm sure "the apple quality is worth it."

Street Fighter 6 on PS5 outsold the PS4 version almost 10-1 (79% to 8%). This is getting absurd. Stop releasing crossgen games.

Can you imagine how embarrassing the split is going to get for crossgen games coming out this fall, and even next year? It could end up being 15-1 or 20-1.

Yep. People who unapologetically ignored massive framerate issues in TOTK (and Elden Ring for that matter) will be right there ready to say that FF16's performance issues make it a chore to play, if it has any drops under 60fps.

Gosh, imagine what's going to happen to Starfield if has framerate drops anything like TOTK.

1114d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

Not to mention TOTK drops to low 20s fps almost everytime you use certain powers or get into even moderate combat, but no one mentions it, but if a Playstation or Xbox game has even moderate drops from 60fps it's "broken" and "unplayable."

Well, the next time you are complaining about a game being $70, just remember that you automatically thought "budget garbage" when a game was priced at $50.

Disappointing to see Bungie going from leaders to followers with an extraction shooter. I'm not a huge fan of live service games, but at least with Destiny they were setting the standard, rather than just jumping on a trend late, like they are now.

I buy all digital but I want physical to continue being 40% of the market because we get better sales that way. Prior to digital becoming a viable alternative, used copies of physical games would sit on shelves for years only getting minimal discounts. Once digital really got established and we started getting PSN flash sales, etc, physical prices started falling a lot faster, and stores like Best Buy offer much better sales than they used to.

Moral of the story - a world w...
