I'm sure whatever new IP they make will get wildly misrepresented and hated on prior to launch, then it will be awesome anyway.
Dude even Sonyslave is better
"Not so for playstation exclusives.
That's why Sony's games have all been SP and super successfull even at $70."
That trend of success started in the mid to late PS3 era when they stopped making games like this and moved more towards cinematic third person games. You are right, people will absolutely shell out for God of War, but they didn't come out in droves for Puppeteer.
And yeah Xbox gamers have become accust...
But if they actually made it, it would come out and everyone on here who said they wanted it would be like "it looks kinda meh, probably not worth $70, I'll wait and buy it used." Then they'd go play a live service game and keep complaining about how too many games are live service games now.
Unfortunately the industry (I blame gamers and devs, but electronics companies are probably primarily to blame) always pushes resolution to quickly. 1080p was sold as the standard when it should have been 720p and 4k has been pushed when the top should have been 1080p/1440p. Soon 8k will be pushed when 4k should be standard.

Kind of crazy because they'll raise the requirements of their games for CPU/GPU/RAM in ways that prevent people from playing but they won't require SSDs (though some games strongly recommend them at least). For many PC owners it's going to be easier to upgrade to a faster drive than to upgrade their CPU or GPU.
Devs/industry analysts in the PS3/360 gen talked about how demos hurt the sales of games:

The speculation is that the higher RAM requirements are a workaround for the fact they can't design the PC version around the same SSD speed as the PS5 version. I.e. loading more of the game to RAM at a time allows the game to load at same speed as PS5 version.
And yes, before a bunch of people running on integrated graphics tell me about the high end SSDs available on PC that are better than the PS5 SSD: I know. But they can't design the PC version around the faste...
"A lot of gamers prefer physical games and a lot don't like the idea of a always online system that relys on internet connection."
And it's really just the always online/steaming issue that prevented Stadia's success. Steam Deck/Series S are showing that there is a market for a device that lacks physical media and relies on downloads, but that's the key-downloads. With either device you need an internet connection, but you don't have to always ...
"Stadia's failure was not a foregone conclusion."
Yes it was. Tons of us on here and probably every other gaming site with a semi-aware community knew Stadia was DOA. Streaming is bad. It doesn't work for games. The best reception a streaming service is going to get is when the company deploying it makes it optional, and then fans of the company will tepidly support it (i.e. Xbox fans don't outright bash XCloud because they don't have to use it).
Can I still complain about crossgen releases?
"These games were developed on ps4... In development for 5-6 years."
Yes. This is my point. The games were developed for PS4 even though they were going to release after PS5 had been out a substantial amount of time. It's not like PS5 launching in 2020 was a surprise to Sony-owned studios. These games should have been developed for PS5. Just like Sony made Resistance, Motorstorm, and Uncharted for PS3 instead of PS2. Just like they made Killzone Shadow Fall, I...
On PS5*. On PS4 it was 9th in the US and 15th in Europe. Gran Turismo 7 (Top 10 in both regions on PS5) didn't chart in the US on PS4, and only came in at 19th in Europe. On PS4 Need for Speed Heat outsold GT7. Think about that. Sony held back GT7 because "we can't leave 115 million behind" and they went and bought Need for Speed Heat instead.
And no, I don't care about the poorly translated article showing that the PS4 versions of these games slightly...
Looking at how Playstation's first party games ranked on the PS4 chart compared to the PS5 chart should tell you everything you need to know about how accurate the "that's where the install base is and that's where they'll make the most money" predictions turned out. Just in case anyone was still clinging to the "the massive splits in favor of PS5 versions of Horizon/GT7/God of War were only on physical sales in the UK, they might have been totally different in...
Occasionally there is a third-person game that, due to the speed the character moves, etc, 30 fps is okay. Based on the videos I have seen of this game, it looks like it will need to be 60 fps.
Lol I hope not. I'm hoping for something more like Elder Scrolls with the key differences that it isn't riddled with bugs, that the combat is substantially improved, and that it actually releases.
I love Left 4 Dead 2, but gosh does the console version feel terrible to play if you're used to playing on PC.
I'm actually way more excited since they've clarified it isn't a Left 4 Dead-style game. After how badly the studio that made Left 4 Dead botched their attempt at a new iteration with Back 4 Blood, I'd rather devs just stop trying.
Yep. I mean don't get me wrong even the numbers in the article I cited show that digital is increasing, and the numbers seem to particularly indicate that sales of a game trend digital the longer the game has been out (look at the low percentage of digital sales for something like Rift Apart, a newer release, vs the higher percentage of old titles like Siege and GTA). This make sense when you consider that physical games consumers going to retail are still probably influenced by shelf loc...
