Hotline Miami is only honorable mention...
I heard they are planning a patch for real life though, the frame rate should be a little more stable afterwards.
It has never gotten the marketing those games have gotten either. I mean obviously TLOU would have done extremely well based on how great it was, but it was certainly helped by the great commercials that got premiere ad time (like during The Walking Dead).
People on game sites who are well-informed about all games on all platforms are not the majority who drive game sales; that's why having a good commercial can put a game on lots of radars, even if people have no idea a...
You just equated Rayman Legends with Mario 3D World. Just letting you know.
The funny thing is that Sony got into the console business on a deal with Nintendo to produce a SNES with CD compatibility. The two companies had a falling out and this product never came out, leading Sony to go their own way with the PlayStation. So it wouldn't really be combining, it would be reuniting...and it would feel so good.

I agree. I'm down with Indie games, but give me more stuff like Journey, The Unfinished Swan, Gone Home, Don't Starve, Hotline Miami etc. I don't mind 2D platformers, but I don't want it to get to the point that where that is what all the indie games are.
What if they'd been screwing with us the whole time and the PS4 is backwards-compatible?
Man, Alan Wake was so good. I hate that you are right, and they aren't doing anything with that IP. If they aren't going to use it, I'd like to see a third party buy it.
There isn't a gun in the bottom right corner of the screen, so it must just be another lame indie game on the Indiestation 4.
Agree, Project Spark and Quantum Break look sweet, if they drop Kinect and bring out a cheaper SKU I could definitely be tempted. It may be that I'll have to wait for 2015 for that though.
Resistance 3 was really good, it just had terrible marketing, and I think some people were turned off by 2, which wasn't nearly as good as 1 or 3.
Funny, during the last gen Xbox fans called Resistance "meh" and a "Halo-wannabe" and Ratchet was a milked franchise of kids games. Now Insomniac is a respected developer with a solid track record.
To be fair, I guess the same thing is happening with Bungie on the other side.
Yeah, back in 2006-2007 every games media site went crazy when Need For Speed fill in the blank and Rainbow 6:Vegas ran at 30fps on 360 while on PS3 these games were rendered unplayable due to dips down to 27fps. Now a game running at nearly twice the fps on PS4 as compared to X1 is stupid console war talk.
I think it's more that it isn't Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, or The Witcher, but yeah, same idea.
I'm just annoyed that the earliest I'll be able to get this game is the end of NEXT year. If they don't bring it to PS4 (they hope to do so, fingers crossed) then I'll need to upgrade my PC before then (although there will probably be plenty of other reasons to upgrade by that time).
Oh that was a troll? I thought Polygon was a real site. My mistake.
Yeah everyone in the N4G/IGN comments has two Nvidia Titans and runs every game at max resolution and 120fps. Weird how when you look at the hardware statistics on Steam a large percentage of users are still running on integrated Intel 4000 graphics, and only the top few percent even compare to what everyone claims they have. Honestly I prefer PC, especially for multiplayer FPS games, but it's really annoying how the PC fanboys are worse than console fanboys recently.
UMVC3 was very good. Though, it was the only Capcom game I bought this whole generation, so I guess I see what you are saying in general.
You aren't the "world's worst critic." Personally I mostly agreed with you about the multiplayer stuff in Bethesda games, and I agree with the general sentiment that not all games need online. However, I don't think the multiplayer in FC3 was "pointless." It didn't mess up the story in any way, they had a separate development team work on it, and it was a fun addition. Plus, it has splitscreen and still runs at a decent framerate. Despite what games journal...
Not to jump you (well sort of to jump you), but everyone always refers to the XL as an upgrade, and I don't understand. With the original DS, it was understood that the Lite was an upgrade to the original fat DS, because it was smaller, lighter, and fit in the pocket better. The XL is a movement in the opposite direction from the original 3DS, and it expands the screen, making games look worse (I realize graphics aren't the focus of 3DS, but still). Is there a feature or something I...
If you aren't into online play or indie games, what are you even playing on PS4? I'm not trolling you, but it just seems weird since there aren't that many big single player games out yet (If Infamous SS or some JRPGs or something were out, I'd understand).
