They should make it a ps2 classic.
Thanks; never been an Xbox-guy, and haven't even really played one since mid-360 era, so I was unaware of this. So basically, the only issue here is that people haven't set their consoles as their home systems.
It's funny, because I can buy I game digitally and have it immediately install, rather than having to wait for it to ship to me (or wasting my time at retail). So in fact, your analogy is backwards.
I like how everyone is trying to make it like this is a problem endemic to digital games as a whole, when it's really just a dumb design choice from Xbox. This is why you can set your PS4 as your primary console and your digital games are always accessible, regardless of your connection.
We have our PS4s set as our primary consoles, so this doesn't affect us. This is a problem of Xbox not fully removing their always-online DRM, not digital games themselves.
Good. The more devs that take focus off Wii U and 3ds in favor of Switch, the better.
Agreed. Switch will replace Vita as my indie machine. Here's hoping they get banner saga on Switch, since I've been waiting for the Vita version, but they've been dragging their feet.
Digital is so much better for a portable like switch or Vita. I don't want to have to carry around a bunch of cartridges like it's 1997- I want all my games installed. It's really too bad Nintendo didn't just eliminate physical media completely and include 128gb or more flash memory in the unit itself.
Yet another reason to just buy from the eshop.
I see what you are saying (devs weren't working on games due to low expectations, and now that switch is selling so well, they are going to start working on stuff) but I question if the strong sales can continue long enough before those games that they'd start on now will actually launch. I love mine as a device, but after Zelda I don't know what I'm going to do (AAA-wise, I know there are solid Indies) for awhile, and I know of very little after Odyssey.
@InMyOpinion
I don't want to prop up obsolete retail stores like GameStop who keep game prices from going down. That's what re-selling games does.
@ Silly Mammo
I don't buy games I don't like. And those I do like, I don't sell, because I like to help devs who make good games, not hurt them. And I don't want to prolong the life of parasitic companies like GameStop, as all you physical game lovers seem to want to do.
@rainslacker
I care that it installs to the HDD because that destroys the main benefit of using discs that existed in the PS3 gen (saving HDD space). Which is funny, becau...
No, you need one of those stop caring about dumb statues and posters machines.
Yes. They are stupid, and people end up just getting rid of them
I don't believe that you don't have internet and you still play a modern console. Literally almost every game you play must be broken because you never get the day one patches. Also the limited space argument is moot this gen (it made sense last gen) because discs just install the entire game to your HDD anyway.
I'm sure that has a lot of practical use and totally isn't just a waste of shelf space.
And apparently instead of being able to preload, you get your preorders cancelled.
It's physical, so it wastes space, and you have to put the disc in to play even though the game installs entirely to your HDD.
Now you have another dumb piece of clutter for your apartment that will take up space and offer you nothing. Except the inconvenience of a disc.
I wonder how many of the people who say Vita had no games are the same ones shouting about how Switch has more than just Zelda.
