Such an underrated studio. Maybe a new IP will help them gain traction outside the Sony hardcore, much like Horizon has done for Guerrilla. I will miss Infamous though, and would like to see them go back at some point (a la Naughty Dog going back for UC4 after TLOU).
I seem to be the only one who thinks this, but I enjoyed 4 more than 3. 3 had a better story, but 4 ran so much better (PS4 compared to PS3, I realize PC is different). Also, 4 just felt way more open. 3 had an "open" map, but it felt really restricted with all the walls of debris blocking things off and funneling you.
I love all the people who say they don't buy digital because they think they won't be able to play the digital versions of their games in 5-10 years. Guess what? If Sony/Microsoft cuts off digital services, even if you reinstall your physical games, you won't be able to download patches, so you'll be playing almost all of them in a broken state unlike what you remember, especially big RPGs.
Yeah, there was so much outcry when Homefront came out, a game about North Koreans taking over the US. I also remember how upset everyone was about MGS: Peace Walker because you fought for the left-wing, Soviet-backed Sandinistas against the CIA.
My thoughts exactly. In three years this game will still be labeled early access and this crowd will move on to another fad genre that will have a bunch of games that never leave early access.
So basically never, since these types of games stay in early access until people forget about them and their fad genre has died down.
Sorry physical media people. You use obsolete tech, and it's dying whether you like it or not.
Yeah I was assuming no physical media, but I feel like the people who would care would mostly be people buying digital anyway. And yeah, the price of flash memory would need to come down enough that they could put 512gb or so in there.
Obviously they'd have to figure out the controls (unless they went the tablet+controller route), but what would be awesome is if Sony came out with a portable PS4 as the next handheld. This obviously assumes mobile tech will continue to get cheaper and more efficient, making this a viable option. But it would be great, as it would have an established library, and people would already own a ton of games.
I wonder how many of the people who say Vita had no games are the same ones shouting about how Switch has more than just Zelda.
They should make it a ps2 classic.
Thanks; never been an Xbox-guy, and haven't even really played one since mid-360 era, so I was unaware of this. So basically, the only issue here is that people haven't set their consoles as their home systems.
It's funny, because I can buy I game digitally and have it immediately install, rather than having to wait for it to ship to me (or wasting my time at retail). So in fact, your analogy is backwards.
I like how everyone is trying to make it like this is a problem endemic to digital games as a whole, when it's really just a dumb design choice from Xbox. This is why you can set your PS4 as your primary console and your digital games are always accessible, regardless of your connection.
We have our PS4s set as our primary consoles, so this doesn't affect us. This is a problem of Xbox not fully removing their always-online DRM, not digital games themselves.
Good. The more devs that take focus off Wii U and 3ds in favor of Switch, the better.
Agreed. Switch will replace Vita as my indie machine. Here's hoping they get banner saga on Switch, since I've been waiting for the Vita version, but they've been dragging their feet.
Digital is so much better for a portable like switch or Vita. I don't want to have to carry around a bunch of cartridges like it's 1997- I want all my games installed. It's really too bad Nintendo didn't just eliminate physical media completely and include 128gb or more flash memory in the unit itself.
Yet another reason to just buy from the eshop.
The Switch feels like a premium device though, while the Wii U felt like a Fisher price toy.
