People are trying hard to ignore these obvious issues with "ending console generations." If console generations are going to be "over," does that mean my PS4 will work for all PlayStation games released in the future? If so, games will always have to be held back to the PS4's specs, and there will be little motivation to buy newer consoles, except for maybe resolution boosts. Or maybe my PS4 will remain compatible with the console that comes next(Neo), but then when an...
People are really desperate to ignore the obvious issues Neo and Scorpio create, for some reason.
@InTheZoneAC
So because people with bad internet create one problem, we should ignore Sony creating another totally unnecessary problem?
And yes, people playing at 60 FPS will have and advantage over those playing at 30, especially if the 30 isn't stable.
And yes, I realize this is an issue on PC and people play multiplayer games on PC all the time. But one of the advantages of consoles was that everyone had an equal experience.
Just wait until a game runs at 60fps on Neo and 30fps with dips on vanilla PS4 and the Neo people have a major advantage in the multiplayer. This is why iterations on console are stupid, and don't make sense like they do for phones.
(Btw, not hating on Sony, Scorpio will create this same issue, but potentially even worse)
But you have to wonder if it even makes sense. Japanese games don't sell on Xbox, with the exception of a few franchises like Resident Evil. Even MGSV sold horribly on Xbox One, and it's a pretty Western friendly game.
It's interesting how so many sites in the gawker vein trip over themselves to excuse heinous acts and norms if they are in Middle Eastern or African countries because they are "different cultures" and if we criticize them, it's "cultural imperialism." Yet none of them have any problem constantly ripping on Japan.
Spoken like a true "self entitled millenial."
Maybe they "lied" in the patch notes.
I wonder when we're going to understand what using a word in quotation marks means.
I can't believe people would "lie" about this.
I wonder what your favorite console is.
It really was a lot of work.
You really don't understand the concept of entitlement at all. Apparently, you think it means the willingness to pay for products that you personally don't want to buy. However, your attitude that you should get everything you want at the price you want to pay is much closer to a sense of entitlement.
Put some thought into your arguments rather than just throwing out words like "entitled" and "millenials" that it has become fashionable to critici...
There is a greater chance of the world spontaneously combusting than there is of TF2 outselling BF1.
So if you complain about a game you get called entitled, and now you get called entitled if you don't complain. You should write for Polygon.
In what way? Even assuming for the sake of argument that WD had a better story than Heavy Rain, Heavy Rain had better gameplay and actually ran well. WD ran like absolute trash.
And yes, I know Telltale games probably run fine on good PCs, but if they are going to put them out everywhere, they shouldn't only run well on one or two platforms. Especially considering they aren't even graphically intensive games.
I'll definitely have to download this and check it out. Hopefully they have some modes now that don't include bots.
I tried to make the decision, but Telltale's crappy game engine lagged and it wouldn't let me make a choice before all the options went away and it assumed I said nothing.
Don't forget that game came out when Americans were too busy playing shooters on the Xbox 360 to notice any of the great PS3 games at the time. Basically, unless they were made by Naughty Dog, PS3 exclusives got ignored here.
@Aenea
So, what you said is basically the second scenario I laid out. There are still generations, it's just that every game has to be developed around the specs of the second-newest console, because it has to stay compatible until something even newer comes out.
