Another person attempts to prove their hardcore gamer credibility by attacking a great game, simply because it went too mainstream. If Skyrim hadn't broken out into the mainstream audience (I.e. if it had sold 5 million copies rather than 30+ million), no one would say these things.
If there were bots, I'd still play Warhawk.
You could post a comment about how you love puppies and hate taxes, and you'd probably still get downvoted.
Shocking to see that Septic and Gangsta red are anti-PSVR.
I love this whole "own your game vs have a licence" idea you think is so important. Apparently you legitimately fear that Sony is really going to pull the ability to redownload games, but you don't consider that they could also release an update for the PS4 that prevents disc-based games from being used. They would never do this, of course, because it would be a stupid business move, just like blocking redownloads of digital games.
Steam proves my point every day, the physical crowd just chooses to ignore the fact that PC is further down the road than console.
Where are all the "physical is always better and cheaper" kids now?
I think it's more "focus on your strengths."
A: Somehow none of you Xbox fans realize that this will only apply to about 5% of the market, since there are already probably 85 million base ps4/X1s out there, and they'll continue to sell better than the upgrades.
B: This gen won't last forever. Your definition of "foreseeable" must be pretty limited.
C: How do you except a fact?
2 million lifetime is not that great, considering the PS3/360 had a combined install base of ~150 million when that game came out. RE5 sold over 8 million with fewer consoles out there.
Yes, it will sell better than it otherwise would have due to the name, but for a Metal Gear game, it will bomb.
Wrong. Look at how badly those Resident Evil spin-offs sell.
Even ignoring them screwing Kojima, this is a complete bastardization of the franchise and shameless cash grab. This is the equivalent of MS releasing Halo: Football Evolved.
No it won't. You are overestimating the name. It isn't like COD or BF. Plus, MGS fans are more hardcore and more likely to be aware of and affected by things like the lead dev getting screwed by the publisher. It will obviously sell better than it otherwise would have without the name, but it will bomb relative to the main series.
I love how it's become a race to see who can call the other side "snowflakes" first. There needs to be some clarification on what that word means (i.e. does it mean people who can't accept objective facts, like their own race or sex, or does it mean people who get unnecessarily bothered by the first group?).
I don't understand why they are even drawing attention to X1X. Very few people are going to buy it (relative to the numbers buying base PS4/X1S), and the mainstream consumer won't understand what it is. Sony should just ignore it and let it fizzle out.
But it's more fun to ignore basic logic and say things like "the beast."
In a year, probably a combined 110m will own standard PS4 or X1, while maybe 15m will own Pro or X1X. Devs should be focused on the first group.
I feel bad for Darth and Septic, having to run all this defense on every single negative X1X article. Rookie and Gangster Red have totally bailed on them.
This writer seems to be in the minority. I don't understand why MS didn't just wait one more year and then do a true next-gen console. They could have gotten a year ahead of Sony, just like they did with 360. Instead they are prolonging a generation they lost long ago.
Yet another example showing that this series isn't good and never has been. The first game sold well because it came out early in the 360's life cycle at a time when it had little competition.
