You're right, enemies respawning is a terrible idea.
Now let me go talk about how great Dark Souls is, without noticing the irony at all.
Before everyone rushes to copy and paste battle Royale gamemodes/elements into their games, we should remember how trying to do the same thing with the last overrated fad (MOBAs) worked out for all the late entries (Battleborn, Paragon).
Very impressive.
I can't imagine they'll ever top 2. However, the lack of mini-map is a cool idea. Possibly this one will match up with 3.
Did you play the first crysis? I feel like it is more of the spiritual sequel to FC1 than the other FC games. It also holds up way better than FC1, which feels very dated.
That being said, 2 is a fantastic game, and I think even though they continued with the open world and look and feel with 3 onward, in many ways 2 was it's own thing as well, as it wasn't nearly as hand-holdy and didn't have all the RPG elements.
People caring about dumb cosmetic items is the reason we have the lootbox plague.
I should have clarified. Complaints about the lack of substantive content (i.e. things to do) are perfectly legitimate.
The people who are concerned about the lack of cosmetic items (if in fact those people really exist) are the reason we can't have nice things.
Far Cry 2 was so good. I'd love another game like that in the series, but unfortunately the far more positive reaction to 3 sent them in the direction of handholding and overpowered abilities (and admittedly more focused narrative). It's funny in a world that obsesses over Demons/Dark Souls and Bloodborne that people still bash that game because enemies respawned at outposts.
Anyone want to take bets? I'm saying first month sales on switch are 1/3 of first month on PS4, and Xbox One will be less than half of Switch.
I think this is more a comment that despite the high number if copies sold, people have stopped/will stop playing. Which yes, they may have made a lot of money on selling copies of the game, but the plan for this and all of these games as a service "platforms" is to keep a significant portion of buyers engaged and spending money...if people stop playing, that doesn't happen.
Singleplayer games don't matter.
Games need microtransactions to justify their costs.
Exclusives don't sell on PlayStation.
Game devs refuse to make games with strong female protagonists.
Where are all the "people are going to buy this game based on the name" people now? It has been obvious that this game was going to flop, and now it has.
I think the internet is getting comfortable with the idea that anytime a nonsensical political opinion is being pushed (from the right or left) it is coming from white people with nothing better to do.
Yep. These sorts of patches are exactly why the whole "I buy physical so that I can still play my games when they shut down PSN/Live" rationale totally fails. Yes, you can put the disc in and play something, but without patches it won't be the actual experience, and it many cases it will be pretty broken.
Shocker. PS4 version will likely outsell XOne version 4:1, given the nature of the game.
Switch is awesome. Although, Xbox has never really done much in Europe, so it's not like this is the craziest thing in the world.
If you think a game is better than CS, ask yourself: were people playing a virtually identical version of the same game ten years ago? Then ask yourself: will people be playing a virtually identical version of this game ten years from now? If you answer no to both questions, reconsider whether you have a legitimate argument.
Not saying this is foolproof, btw, but it will definitely weed out fad answers, because if you'd say PUBG now, you probably would have said Ark l...
@SolidStoner
Playing Siege makes me ask one question - if I'm going to play a game of this style, why not play the best one: Counter-Strike?
While it's a great option for console only people, if you are already a CS player, there's no reason to take a step down. The microtransaction-encouraging progression alone takes it down a notch (locking powerful characters behind extremely high credit requirements).
Obviously touched a nerve here, lots of people realizing their hypocrisy about FC2.
@Muigi It seems like you might have misinterpreted my comment. I'm not criticizing FC2 or Dark Souls, both are great. I'm criticizing people who hate on FC2 for one of the things they praise about Dark Souls, simply because it hadn't yet become cool to like that design choice in 2008.
@OpenGL
Sounds like you haven't played FC2, enemies don't re...
