Ah, the old "Skyrim sucks, Witcher 3 is way better!" fallacy. You have helped prove my point. In order to disprove my point that Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most ambitious game worlds, you cite two of the most impressive open worlds (anyone who doesn't have a grudge against Rockstar has to recognize this). The fact that you immediately go to Red Dead as your comparison is a compliment to Cyberpunk, not an insult. It's like trying to say a basketball ...
A little worse from the videos I've seen. Framerates in the teens in combat and while driving.
I wonder how much of the delays were due to the old consoles (I heard rumors they were, but don't know for sure). Because I wonder if they had decided to can the old versions in 2018 and just spec for the next gen machines (on PC at first), could they have had the true next gen versions ready for launch?
If so, I think even with the limited supply, it would have been great to be out at launch, as it likely could have been established as the game to buy on either platfor...
Yeah, it feels like there's a lot of sort of reverse-bandwagoning going on. Like everyone was getting overhyped for this game because of everyone around them, and now that people around them are ripping it, they feel the need to show how much they hate it.
"simple game"
This is one of the most ambitious game worlds ever. You can criticize the quality, but it certainly isn't simple.
They basically run the game about the same (at least when series X is on performance mode). 60 most of the time, with occasional dips.
Sony should have no questions anymore about why people are upset about the new Horizon being on PS4.
But install base guys!
Get used to it. A certain variety of gaming blog (you know the ones I'm talking about) will be churning out "think" pieces for the next few months about the ways Cyberpunk should have done X, Y, or Z better.
Of course, there are legitimate criticisms to be made (the terrible performance on base PS4 and One S being the most obvious), but that isn't what I'm talking about.
So now people are complaining about having to play at a smooth framerate. Wonders never cease.
Yeah people don't ever factor in what was spent on a game. The budget for Control was only $30 million, and the game wasn't heavily advertised.
It's so odd, because people seem to be able to understand that a small budget movie can make $50 million at the box office, never be the #1 movie, and be a big financial success, while a big budget movie might be #1 for a few weeks and gross a few hundred million dollars, but be a failure due to a high budget and large m...
Yeah, it's nice to see it to well, and a great reminder to stop using how a game charts at launch as the only measure of success.
Unfortunately the terrible handling of the next gen upgrade has soured this game's reputation a bit.
Yep. I think one of the biggest things Sony achieved this gen was continuing success with their first party games. In the PS3 era a first party game might sell well at launch, but it would quickly slip from the charts, while annualized 3rd party games would sell well for months on end. It's been very encouraging to me in the last few years to see first party games like TLOU Remastered, Spiderman, God of War, and Horizon continue showing up on charts well outside of their launch windows.
Spiderman outselling COD and Demon's Souls outselling AC, even if just by one spot each, is pretty cool.
Hmm it's almost like all the blatantly misleading talk about the "PS5 patch" has caused confusion.
I wonder how different the three different life paths are. Like, is it only the first hour of the game that's different, or are there different missions throughout depending on which you pick.
Yep. When the people who are wrong about almost everything and have terrible opinions try to insult something by comparing it to classic rock, you know it must be great.
Lol you won't have the real version of the game without a digital download. Get over it (you will automatically once everything is digital).
But guys if you buy the disc you'll own the game and still be able to play it on your PS4 in 2077 after psn shuts down and you can't download it anymore.
This. An extra year isn't going to make old processors any faster. They should have just cancelled the last gen versions.
