Yep, I agree with that.

I started renting games because there was no point owning something that got 8 hours play and was done, or had problems the reviewers conveniently glossed over. In fact I rented tonnes of games I would NEVER have bought as renting for a small cost meant I was willing to try a lot of games I wouldn't normally buy.

If I then loved those games I would then buy at full price, or wait for a price drop.

Very few games a...

I don't see it as a huge inconvenience to log in every 24 hours as I have a stable and reliable internet connection, but the question is 'Why should I have to do it at all when playing a single player or split screen game?'.

It's a valid question, as there's no perceivable benefit to the end user by having this requirement in place.

Where it is hugely inconvenient is during those rare times when the internet is not available. Such as movi...

Just because Titanfall has developers who once worked on CoD means nothing. Titanfall is a different game.

If it becomes the next CoD then fair enough, but you could just as easily ask the same question of Destiny, Battlefield 4 and so on.

Quote..."CD Projekt RED has been staunchly opposed to DRM keeping it out of the titles, so why are they supporting Xbox One?"

Answer... Money

I suspect it's just for daisy chaining HDMI devices.

So if your TV / Amp runs out of HDMI ports (for example if you have a PS4 connected ;) ) you could just chain your 360 through the XBOne instead of having to unplug devices.

Edit: And it could also have functions like many electronic company's add where devices 'talk' to each other - so for example I can control a Sony TV and amp through one remote. Controlling the 360 via XBOne is defini...

Seems to me that the way the XBoxOne will work in this regard is similar to iTunes Match from Apple.

So you buy a game and it gets 'registered' in the cloud. This means you can download it to other machines that have authorisation.

It won't be true 'streaming' but will likely be a case of a certain percentage of game will need to be downloaded to allow the gamer to start playing, then the rest is downloaded in the background.

Same here. Bug hit me after about an hour of game time, and I lost about an hour.

That's not true Septic.

If the auto save bug kicks in it does not allow you to do a manual save. The line 'auto saving please wait' shows next to Save Game, Load Game and Reset encounter options, and they cannot be selected.

I lost about an hours worth of game time because of this bug.

I am now manually saving every 30mins or after significant battles / cut scenes.

If when going in to the menu it shows 'auto ...

Hell Yeah! Forza 5 next gen. Cus who wants to actually drive in a racing game when they can just let their Drivatar gain points for them! Sweeeeet!

I thought GT6 looked almost as good as Forza 5.

Oh, and you better check you're in a country where the XBOne actually works tho http://www.xbox.com/en-US/x...

Thankfully they appear to have improved R2 / L2. I really disliked the shape of those triggers on the DS3.

And here I thought the drive was towards lower power, higher efficiency chips!! This thing must use some juice.

$100 is a pretty big deal, but yeah, not a lot in it.

Price could be the deciding factor here.

We know MS has a bigger marketing budget, so can continue to advertise XBox like crazy. This worked when they had a head start and a price advantage. But that's gone.

I'm sure a few people in MS HQ were shocked by the price announcement Sony made. $50 cheaper was kinda expected (and hoped for) - but $100, that's huge in this financial climate.

It is a shame that to play online requires a...

One thing I'm surprised no one has mentioned is that Tretton confirmed cross game chat. Not a feature I'm interested in, but I know a lot of XBox fans like it a lot.

Tretton also said no 'new restrictions' when it comes to used / traded games, which seems to confirm that publishers can still use Season Passes etc. I wonder what EA will do?

What are the other studios working on? ND must have something in the pipeline for PS4. No teaser? I ...

Good post.

I said when Kinect for 360 launched there could be some awesome applications using the sensor. But it never happened. I assumed this was because Kinect was not mandatory - so no reason for devs to invest time and money in to something only a % of the install base had.

With Kinect 2 being in every XB1 box I thought they'd at least show off something exciting.

The MS games looked good - but there was a definite quality jump when looking at the PS4 games.

I was surprised how 'old' Beyond, Two Souls looked in the trailer after seeing some of the PS4 stuff.

Yeah, this is my thinking too.

MS showed some games I like the look of, but I'll definitely be waiting until a couple of price cuts and to see how the DRM thing pans out. So realistically I can't see me getting an XB1 until maybe year 4 or 5 of this cycle.

I've already pre-ordered the PS4. Nothing to do with DRM, I just know they will deliver the same way they did for PS3 - and the lower price is a bonus.

That was a bit of a 'traditional' E3 conference for Sony (lots of suits talking too long). They needed to speed things up a bit, but once it got going it was good.

Only disappointments were no new PS4 ND title teased. No Agent or Last Guardian or God of War. And needed more exclusives - which we know are coming.

But there was enough good stuff on show, and that price makes it a Day 1.

IGN are also stating online will need PS+ subscription.

I didn't specifically hear Tretton make the statement, but I'm sure it'll be clarified one way or the other pretty soon.

It is utter bullshit tbh. Only defense is that new console, new business model.
