So MS have gone from having a bad / interesting strategy (depending on your POV), to No Strategy. Except playing catch up and trying to justify being $100 more expensive than the main competition... if you can call that a strategy!
Luckily they have Ryse to make everything better /s
I would not say no to that! If lessons were learned from the original it could be an amazing game, there was a lot of potential there. Too much hate for Lair! :)
I'm just waiting for the negative '$ony only gives access to 225.7GB of the 250GB HDD' type 'articles'.
I would expect Sony would allocate a non accessible area of the HDD for temporary storage of the streamed data - which could then be saved out (or hopefully exported for editing on PC). Plus an area for any other swap files / OS information. And MS to do the same.
@kneon
I guess the only reason to limit the recording length is to protect casual / less informed gamers from filling up their hard drives and not having space for downloadable games or installs.
I'd be happy with a system setting that allows me to control the space I want allocated to the buffer and recording.
Game 1 of Alliance vs LGD was epic! Shame the series didn't go to three matches, and shame LGD is now out. Sylar was awesome playing the Alchemist. LGD seem far too one dimensional at the moment.
Alliance look tough, but think they can be beaten. Not sure by who though!
What a damn shame it's a Facebook title. :(
I was hoping it would be a proper standalone online title, or at least in a similar vein to Ubisoft's, The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot.
I would say no. It's a fantastic game (even in the early stages of development), but I don't think it'll trouble Minecraft. And why even compare them - they are two different games.
Interesting.. So the XB1 can record at a higher res and frame rate than most of it's games will run

+1 for use of the word twit. Not used enough in my opinion.
I don't think MP game play necessarily needs broadening, but getting new people to play online does need improving.
The areas where it needs improving are around interface - making it easier to know what a person is getting in to. Matchmaking - making sure new players have a good experience, and are not immediately crushed. Adding controls and tools to stop abuse and elitist behaviour towards new players.
Broadening appeal does not necessarily mean dumb...
For the uninitiated, spectating DOTA2 games can be very confusing. It took me a few matches, and lots of Googling to get to grips with what's happening.
I think the article could have gone in to more detail about some of the common tactics, acronyms and how to spot when certain things are happening. Such as...
Stuff like why BKB is so important; what CS stands for, and what various stats like Last Hit and Denies mean etc.
Also how to mo...
You need to dig in to it a bit more. After adjustment they made an operating loss of almost 5billion yen.

Hardly time to start worrying, but Nintendo need to do something urgently.
Bad doesn't even cover it.
Nintendo's European WiiU numbers almost make the 360's Japanese sales look good!
/jk (but only just)
I think the Vita is going to get heavily marketed as a companion device for the PS4. It wouldn't surprise me if Sony did a bundle with both PS4 and PSV at some point.
I think the PSV lacks a bit of an identity. Sony seem to be marketing it as having a full blown console in your pocket - but I don't think that's what people want or expect. And there's no games that immediately spring to mind that people identify with the PSV (in the same way that people iden...
I'm not sure the tech level was a big factor. It's probably in there, but I think the problem stemmed from no games. High price point. Consumer confusion (was this an add-on to the Wii, or a new console?!) and the lack of support the Wii got towards the end.
And not least of all, that the WiiU controller did not have the same appeal as the Wiimote.
I still think, as you suggest, that the WiiU could follow a similar upward trend as the 3DS enjoyed, ...
That's a weak argument Gildarts
The important thing is cost of entry. And right now that is $100 less on PS4.
The other things you mention are optional. IF any games come out that need the PS Camera, then I'll buy that. Same for Move. If I need another controller I'll buy one at the time. I don't need to pay $570 on Day 1.
Price matters a great deal to some people.
WoW is old news, but totally doable on PS4. It's much more likely Blizz will launch it's next MMO on next gen consoles, which is why Titan has been delayed.
Refresher courses? That implies they were ever trained in the first place!
I have a lot of interests and hobbies which I keep tabs on by relying on news posted on the internet. I can safely say that the quality of journalism in the games industry is by far the worst. With very few exceptions it's below gutter trash.
Great ideas.
Hopefully the PS4 UI will be better for these things.
In general IP / patent wars are ridiculous. The whole Samsung vs Apple vs Google stuff is only making lawyers rich. Patent trolls are also pretty despicable and stifle innovation.
But this is a case of a win for the little guy, and exactly what patent protection should be about. You can't have a giant company steal from an inventor just because they know the little guy can't afford to go to court.
Plus Nintendo are a cash rich company (despite thei...
