I thought support ended 3 years ago!!
So does this mean they'll start supporting it again, or continue maintaining the same level of non-existent support.
The 'support' MS gave the original Xbox, and 360 is exactly the reason I won't be hurrying in to an X1 purchase.
Yes, yes they are. It's what makes N4G so entertaining.
I do think this is untrue - BUT... MS does have previous form for keeping silicon related things a secret.
Doesn't anyone remember the 'Ana' chip in the 360? That 'mystery chip' wasn't announced or unlocked for some time after launch.

I would imagine Sony did their homework and found the majority of PS3 gamers never used more than 4.
Also, as the communication is Bluetooth again, if they needed to up the number they would or could via firmware - but I doubt they'll need to.
Plus if games come out needing more controllers the dev/publisher could do what Harmonix etc did and supply a USB dongle.
Nintendo have repeatedly stated in the past they have a three pillar approach to handhelds.
3DS, 3DS XL and now 2DS. What's the problem?
It's actually pretty clever (technically) that the 2DS is actually one screen split in two.
I'm not sure why people are surprised and upset by this. If you can buy a GPU for your PC that costs almost double a PS4 / XB1, and a CPU that costs about the same as a PS4/XB1 you expect that to be the level for Ultra settings.
So it seems perfectly consistent that a console which costs half as much as a top end GPU and has lower tech would play medium settings. Medium settings are still going to look awesome!
Smear campaign? I think MS have done all the damage to themselves.
Listening to gamers? Yeah right. MS are listening to the sound of reduced profits because the mainstream media picked up on the groundswell of hate for their policies. If MS thought they could get away with the DRM stuff they would have. Listening to gamers!? What a joke.
I have no doubt the console race will be fairly close, but I find this stance of Xbox fans coming across like some po...
Choice is good, but how many games does a person realistically buy on Day 1?
Right now there's more games on Day 1 than I know I'll be able to afford or play in a reasonable time.
I thought the number of Day 1 titles for each console was around 33. I didn't realise we were suddenly no longer allowed to count Indie or digital titles in launch day numbers!!
Which battle is this?
I buy a console based on games and potential games... Not pre-order numbers, not specifications, not gimmicks, not policies, not hype, not 'one game bundled for free', not marketing budget, not 'who won E3'.
So MS can throw as much money around as they like, and make as many U-Turns as they want. Xbox 1 does not have the games I want to play, and history shows MS provide poor support for games after year 2 or 3. Same go...
'Inspiration' is putting it mildly.
I thought the interviewer went easy on him and was a bit of a Sony fan.
The interview they did with Phil Harrison was much more harsh in my opinion - (but MS deserved the line of questioning)
If this was written in 2008 I would say the 360 should be fairly high (top 5). But I would always put the original XBox above it.
I would put PS3 and 360 fairly close together. Maybe 5 and 6. If you go solely on features that were introduced, then 360 edges the PS3. If you go on gaming experiences I would put the PS3 head and shoulders above the 360.
Gaming experiences are more important to me, so PS2 would definitely be #1. Dreamcast and N64 would also ...
Don't get me wrong, this is great news for Sony... But I do wonder just how many units Sony actually have and how many each market will get. Their roll-out is quite ambitious.
I thought they mentioned they had 1million pre-orders, which is pretty cool. And I can only see demand rising because what people can't get they want even more!! :)
It reminds me of the 360's launch where units were pretty rare for about 3 months after launch and were goin...
Nothing wrong with Sony / EA relationship - it's just that money talks. And MS has more of it.
It is odd that MS have not announced the launch date yet.
This either means they were waiting for Sony, and are now calculating availability to launch earlier than the 15th Nov.
Or
They don't have stock so will have to launch later, maybe end of Nov for NA and Dec for EU.
Considering the smaller number of markets they are launching to, and pushing back a couple of EU markets to 2014 I think they have stock issues.
Oh no! Haven't we had enough retractions form MS. We don't need AMD joining in!
I remember back in the day. Playing FPS games on PC. Looking at the dedicated server lists, picking one that had the lowest ping - which was usually one geographically closest.
Nice to know that 15 years or so later it's now called 'the power of the cloud', and is automated for our convenience.
@orakle44
I have no problem forking out $15 a month - but to continue your analogy of it only being two lunches. As I have limited time to play it would be like buying those lunches and immediately throwing them away some months - it just doesn't feel right!
F2P allows me to spend what I want and when I want.
And WoW may be the biggest subscription MMO, but it has been losing millions of subscribers for quite some time now - so maybe we&...
This is exactly my problem.
I'd happily buy credit upfront and have it tick down for every hour I played as long as it had no expiry date.
I can't be bothered to subscribe to an MMO when I know that I may only get a couple few hours a month to play it. Just not good value.
That PS3 list makes me question whether I keep my PS4 pre-order! When am I going to get the time to play the new stuff!
