I'd imagine it's a fairly cheap device for Sony to produce - so they won't need to shift huge numbers to make a profit.
It's definitely a niche device, and faces strong competition from AppleTV and other devices - but it's a compelling option. I'm definitely considering one to allow me to stream PS4 games to my 2nd TV.

I agree with points 1 (the name) and 2 (no big title on launch), but 3 (speed of loading) isn't a factor at all in the poor sales.
The name WiiU caused a lot of confusion. A lot of people didn't know if the device was an add-on to the Wii, or something else.

I would say FFXIV is a 7.5 to 8. There's a lot to like and a lot of potential, but it is hugely cookie cutter in terms of game play.
I'm liking it a lot, but will probably subscribe on and off rather than commit to it.
Graphically it is stunning though. Could easily go up against any SP RPG.

Depends on what a return to the PS2 era means... If it's a groundswell of original, interesting innovative games, then maybe. if it's Sony dominance, then no chance and I can give a few reasons...

I could buy a PS4 plus FIFA14 for less than an X1 with FIFA bundled.
The only people who would be 'happier' to get a free game with their PS4 are those who had already successfully secured a pre-order. For the many people who missed out, seeing all those lucky people with a free game makes no difference whatsoever.

Intrigued by this game. I wasn't a huge fan of Halo MP, but I do love Borderlands 2 - and there's been some comparisons between that game and Destiny.
The customisation appeals a lot. The open world looks amazing. It seems to have a casual and hardcore appeal.

I suspect it was just a sensible and achievable date for MS.
Launching on the same day as PS4 in EU or US would cause chaos for retailers. Also MS guarantee 100% news coverage by launching on a different day. (I'm sure Sony and MS want the news to be about their consoles, not about a head to head day 1 battle)
Earlier launch and they might not have had enough stock and could lose momentum in the holiday run up, and later puts them in to Dec and too close...

I agree, I don't know why there's so much hype for Titanfall.
Everyone on N4G has been bashing CoD and EA for years - don't they realise the studio making this is headed up by the two guys most responsible for CoD and it's going to be published by EA!?
I'm keeping an eye on it, but no way is it a Day 1 purchase. I need to know more about it and how it plays. (Same thing with Destiny)
