It seems the following is what's happening...
PS4 review kits have full functionality enabled, so no Day 1 patch required - and Sony are only sending those to the big name websites / reviewers. So independents / YouTubers are annoyed.
Sony MAY be sending regular PS4's to some independent / YouTubers, but they are not releasing the Day 1 patch until very close to the retail launch. So key functionality that they need (such as uploading content to You...
They've got 2 factor authentication in now. It's a bit of a hassle but no more so than what WoW and Battlenet offer. It really helps reduce the chance of getting your account stolen.
Shame you got such bad customer service. I've seen similar request for scans of passport or drivers license with other company's - I think Blizz ask for this in some cases. Not sure why as it seems pointless.
And yet somehow, the PS3 which has always been higher priced than the 360 manages to outsell it world wide month after month.
Yep, there's definitely some Enslaved DNA in The Last of Us.
I think Enslaved is a very underrated game.
Good for him. Wish competitive e-Sports had been a valid career option when I was a kid! :)

Having to plug the controller in the other port to beat Psycho Mantis... Mind... Blown!
Riiiiidge Racer - both the meme and the original arcade conversion. Was so awesome to power slide in those early games
Jak and Daxter 1, 2 and 3 - beyond awesome

There's about a decade of Final Fantasy history before it hit a PlayStation console.
Disappointing that two games Sony really bigged up for launch have been delayed.
I would rather have polished and bug free than rushed, but Sony's Day 1 PS4 launch line-up, which is average at best, is now looking even weaker.
I'm still getting a PS4 (and not an XB1 before the Sony fanboys go crazy) as I know that in the long run Sony have the best 1st party games.
If there's one thing I know for sure; it's that every single incident of an X1 or PS4 overheating, failing, or having some some problem is going to be made in to some shit storm 'news' story.
Lets wait and see if either console has issues once it's in millions of consumers hands before jumping the gun.
EDIT: I also love this whole 'red line of death' that some idiots are trying to coin. At least come up with something original. ...
Competition is good.
I always buy whatever card gives the best bang for my buck. If that price ratio is the same between AMD and Nvidia I will tend to go Nvidia because of the better driver support.
Hmm, looks like I might be popping in to town on my lunch break to check out the CPP.... :)
Monster Hunter is the one game series I want to love, but can never get in to. I've tried the version on PSP and the demo on 3DS, and I just find it a horrible and frustrating game. I suspect a good part of that is due to the single analogue stick design of PSP / 3DS, but the mechanics and overall design seem a bit poor as well.
But still, whenever a new version is announced or released I still feel like I should pick it up (until I try the demo and find it just as infu...
I'm not sure I see your logic. I can understand the disappointment, but normally delaying a game means one of two things.
Either the game is a dud and needs major rework. Or, the game needs more polish and bug hunting and the publisher is good enough to allow it.
I think Watch Dogs falls in the the second camp, so it's likely we'll get a better game because of the extra time. I know I'd rather have a game a few months late than a buggy mess....
The problem, as I see it, is that a lot of game developers have a very loose management structure. Roles such as project management are very rare in the industry because it's seen as getting in the way of creativity. The types of people who are programmers, artists etc are also (usually) particular personality types that work better without significant management.
This works OK in teams such as Valve, Blizzard, iD, and Naughty Dog because they are big enough to either h...
"Forza 5: 'Xbox One Controller Teaches Players How To Drive' Says Dev"
That's got to be the dumbest comment from a dev in quite some time!
I backed this game, The Long Dark, a while ago on Kickstarter and they announced Hayter joined today.

If you cut down the amount of processing a GPU has to do then you can hit 1080p/60 easily. PC games have been doing it for years where you can lower resolution and increase detail, or raise resolution and lower detail (such as textures, shader complexity, AA, etc) to find the perfect balance of FPS and graphical fidelity.
So it seems to me that to ensure some sort of parity with PS4 and PC (in terms of pretty effects) developers have decided to sacrifice resolution on the XB...
I hope so! The PS3 adverts in the UK were generally awful, and overall the quantity was lacking. One of the few places to see PS3 ads was in Champions League football.
On the other hand, MS advertised heavily and in primt time slots, and made a lot of multiplat titles appear to be exclusive through clever misdirection.
I've not seen advertising for either next gen console really kick in yet, so will have to wait and see what they do. I think we can all...
@Mystogan
That's the most myopic and ridiculous comment I've seen in a long time.
So you're telling us that for some reason MS fans are bastions of patience and DON'T want the latest shiniest toy on release, and yet for some reason Sony fans are mindless sheep who will buy anything on Day 1.
So I guess that the 360 selling out for months after launch was just an aberration? Was it all lies that 360's were selling for 3 tim...
I recently bought an Asus ROG mobo, and have been extremely impressed. So I'd happily try a monitor from them with G-Sync when I upgrade in Q1 next year.
