Exactly.
I believe that shortly after the Japan launch is over we'll start to see stabilisation of stock globally. Sony have to be stockpiling units for that launch which is going to mean less units for every other territory.
It's hard to gauge the numbers they will sell in Japan - conservatively I would hope for at least 500,000 in the first week or so (going by population size and the numbers in other markets). But considering that the XB1 is unli...
@joefrost00
No, common sense doesn't suggest that just because you release in more countries you would sell more.
It just means that whatever stock you have has been spread across more countries. For example, 1million units for sale in 13 countries or 52 is still just 1million units.
There's some indication that Sony might have started manufacturing a bit earlier than MS - but not by much. So what this boils down to is supply and dem...
Jak and Daxter trilogy by a long shot, then Uncharted 2.
I was planning on buying a new monitor at the end of 2013, but decided to hold off while I waited for GSync (as I have a 670 GPU).
But the mark up seems ridiculous to me. $200 on top of the monitor costs - no thanks. That is ridiculous.
If Nvidia wanted to push this tech, they'd make it affordable. If Nvidia really wanted to make money off the tech they'd license it to other GPU makers... But oh yeah - it's now starting to look like Nvidia ar...
I like PS2, but I know what you mean. Sometimes it does feel like <trudge, trudge trudge><Boom><Dead ><trudge trudge trudge> Repeat!
On the topic of Titanfall, I'm much more interested / concerned about the game play (such as having the AI bots) than it being 'limited' to 6v6. So I'll wait for the reviews.
I wonder how many people who are complaining about 6v6 were ever going to buy the game anyway.
People need to wait and see.
If it ends up that the game is awesome and fun - then 6v6 was the correct choice and Respawn are vindicated.
If it turns out that the game feels gimped or not fun, then people can start shouting about it and vote with their wallets.
That's one of the best replies I've seen on N4G for a while! Well said!
For me, art is in the eye of the beholder. It's hugely subjective.
What tipped you off? The fact the heading of the post showed it was posted by an SCEA employee; or that senior members of Sony have already stated EU TBC; or that major news by multi-national company's isn't normally announced via blog a day after they made an announcement at CES.
I can appreciate excitement about this 'news'. But the gaming press seem obsessed with breaking news first for hits, so basic journalistic techniques - such as fact checking and val...
Do not get your hopes up.
This is a blog piece by a US Sony employee (Posted on 8 January by Sid Shuman – SCEA, Social Media Manager) that has been re-blogged on the EU Playstation site. The tags for EU territories is irrelevant.
The author of the article has put 2 and 2 together and made 5! This article should be failed or title changed to meet N4G guidelines.
It has been said a few times already... US get beta soon, with full launch in Su...
A simple free trial would do that... Although you'll never sway the naysayers on 1Mbit lines claiming the service is rubbish!
The Hands On info I've read suggests that it has little lag and few artefacts - which is pretty good. However, they also said the Gakai server powering the demos was a few metres away down the hall...
I tried OnLive a long time ago and was impressed by it back then, so I imagine the tech has moved on (such as the compression a...
I'm ambivalent to Steamboxes / SteamOS, but I think a couple of your arguments don't hold water.
You _may_ be able to install SteamOS on an old PS3, but it would do you no good as access to the GPU is massively restricted.
Why buy a Steambox if you're going to install another OS. That just adds the cost of Windows to your purchase price. There would be no guarantee or evidence you could install a recent version of any MacOS.

It would be nice to think that Sony would give us a few options...
For PSN+ subscribers we would get one free rental a month from a changing list
The price for an existing PSN+ subscriber should be £3.99 or £4.99 per month for any amount of rentals on top of the normal PSN+ cost
For non-PSN+ subscribers the price should be £5.99 or £6.99 per month
Per game rentals should be available at 99p for PS1 titles,...
Yeah, I'm sure it's just fanboyism and knee jerk reactions.
For some reason certain people think a bigger number is better - but if they've made the maps and game play work for 6 v 6 then I don't see a problem as long as it's a good, fun game.
If people want to play 12 v 12 or more then there's plenty of good games that allow it.
I'm sure 6 v 6 is fine...
But what I love about some of these comments is this 'power of the cloud AI' that a couple of posters have mentioned as if it's some magical dust being sprinkled on the game that will bring normally dumb AI to life - like some sort of Pinnochio with a gun!... We heard over and over how this magical cloud power was only possible on the Xbox 1... and yet here it is on 360 and PC.
After the damage Gearbox did to the Alien IP I hope sales of Isolation are not negatively impacted, as it sounds like a good game.
EDIT: And I hope Creative Assembly don't screw it up as it looks like new territory for them
That's a very narrow view.
Considering Steam has at least as many accounts as PSN or XBL I think PC gaming is healthy and popular.
The only way to get the best of all gaming is to be a PC and console gamer. Limiting yourself to one platform is a shame and just means you miss out on some awesome titles.
I'm not sure I really get what Valve are trying to achieve with the Steam machine.
It's basically a 'PC' that does less than a Windows PC, but costs the same or more.
I don't see why people would buy a Steam machine instead of a decent gaming PC, or build their own.
Sure they look cool - but there's more to a box than the case.
Although, I suppose anything that gets more people in to PC gaming is a g...
Must be a slow news day...
@ Wenis
Depends... Do you do it as a team game?
@miyamoto
This has nothing to do with Sony having the money to produce more units. As far as I know Sony produce their own devices and can outsource if needed. MS outsource all manufacturing.
Right now the PS4 is in a perfect position. Having demand outstrip supply is a good thing for a business. It creates word of mouth. People want what they can't have. It shows the PS4 is popular and in the news compared to its competitors. And looking at the sal...
