Whilst I don't agree with all aspects of Bitcoin, the vitriol in your comments did amuse me.
I think you may want to do a little more research before claiming it's a Ponzi scheme fronted by an 'anonymous asian'; or that that the currency is crashing. There have been some massive fluctuations, true, but stability is going to take a long time.
I'm sure the people who lost their homes in the aftermath of the 2008 banking crisis are also wond...
@Summons75
Because most new MMO's don't try charging full RRP for a subscription MMO (like FFXIV which is cheap, even on PS4)
Expansions are optional. And besides that, what guarantee do we have that ESO will never charge for expansions in future
Awful F2P games? You mean like Knights of the Old Republic? Or Planetside 2, or DC Universe Online? Or even Neverwinter? Or those games where you pay a small upfront cost for the game the...
Premium??
Everything I have heard about the game points to it being very poor.
"Floaty" combat
Generic
Average graphics
Boring
Normally I wouldn't comment on something I have not played myself, but there's too much info out there (despite the NDA) to ignore.
Even if ESO turns out to be the best MMO ever, I still wouldn't pay full price for it PLUS subscription PLUS microntransacti...
Everything leaked out under the NDA makes it sound like ESO is very mediocre.
So what makes it so special that it can totally buck the trend for MMO games and launch at a high RRP?
Take Final Fantasy XIV. Even the console versions launched at a budget price.
Seems to me the devs / publisher is banking on the Elder Scrolls name to sucker people in at full price. They probably already know the game is doomed after seeing so many other MMO'...
Two people leave a developer..? QUICK, write an ambiguous opinion piece that requires no real journalistic research because we can put a question mark in the title!!
Phew, that was close, some other half-arsed gaming news site almost stole our clicks!

Move on, nothing to see here.
From actually reading the article it clearly states that 4.2million were sold by year end.
That was approx 6 weeks after the US launch... And it's been roughly another 6 weeks since that date with the console available in multiple territories.
Even if we dismiss the initial pre-order frenzy I don't think it's a stretch to think that Sony have shifted 800,000 units in the next 6 weeks - especially as comments Sony have made previously indicate they...
Please enlighten us to this 'research' you've conducted that leads to this 'reality' you speak of.
Was it just a BOM comparison using off the shelf parts discounted by a rough figure to account for bulk buying?
Or did it factor in that MS outsources all of it's manufacturing, while Sony owns some of the factories it uses. Or how foreign currency conversions can have a massive impact on supply chain costs. Or how Sony can leverage eco...
@LeCreuset
You may want to re-read your comment slowly and see where the contradiction lies.
I'll give you a hint... "If they have to restructure by dropping some non-gaming divisions that's really irrelevant to gaming. In fact, such a move helps secure the future of the gaming division."
I think there's plenty of room for lots of different type of MMO's... But the problem is that the genre is too crowded with cookie-cutter-WoW-wannabes. To the point where even WoW has become a WoW wannabe as it tries to reclaim lost glories.
@MultiConsoleGamer
I agree with you that people are being a bit blinkered here and intentionally don't want to engage in discussion about the big picture of Sony's finances.
But you have made a couple of comments that seem uninformed and intentionally inflammatory.
Kaz has not failed. He is still in the process of restructuring.
Of course a company that is in a dire position will need to make massive changes to evolv...
Phil Harrison is generally credited with seeing the potential of MM and LBP and bringing them in to the Sony fold
...The very same Phil Harrison that now works at MS. Maybe we'll see him looking at other innovative small developers to strengthen MS' portfolio
@MultiConsoleGamer
You make it sound like bad news, but look what you said..
"There isn't much left except for mobile, music, games and a movie studio."
What are the huge growth markets right now? Mobile, gaming, and entertainment (Hollywood had a record breaking year for ROI). All the things you said Sony have left - sounds like they are doing a good job refocusing.
Sony is evolving. They were always a top en...
@X1PS4WiiU
I don't agree with your tree analogy. It's not like that for any big company with multiple business divisions.
A better analogy is that Sony is the owner of an orchard, and each tree is a division of the business.
What Sony are doing is assessing which are the trees that will grow; which can be saved by removing some branches (cutting costs) or made to grow better with some extra attention; and which need to be cut down. ...
I would love to see some more sports RPG's. Inazuma Eleven is pretty good fun, but there's not a lot of other choice out there.
I'd like to see a football (soccer) RPG. And I'd really love a motor racing RPG, where battles involved overtaking opponents (as well as off track stuff).
@Osiris,
It's subjective. I own a PS4, but I don't think the line up is that good. I bought my PS4 for the future support I know will be coming.
When you have to list Trine 2 and Contrast, it seems you're reaching. Both those games are average and Contrast is below average.
The only game on the list that I would say is awesome is Resogun.
KZ:SF is fun but short-lived and forgettable. DC Online is a pretty avera...
I can safely say I have put more hours in to Minecraft than any other game.
With the huge number of mod packs it never gets old. (Although would be nice if the mod API was finally developed and released)
Housemarque are one of my favourite devs.
I wish we could have a PS4 remake of Super Stardust HD (I prefer it to Resogun), and a sequel to Dead Nation.
I'm gonna cut Ubi some slack here.
Yes, they are milking AC... But they've also had the balls to come up with new big budget IP in Watch Dogs and The Division over the last two years, and if they continue this trend at the next E3 I think they deserve praise.
To invest in new IP you need the money to do so. If that means more AC games, then fair enough - it's a cash cow. If the quality remains as high as in AC4, I won't complain (even if AC4...
I think it was incredibly ambitious and incredibly badly optimised.
No one could get that game running perfectly. :)
There's an old adage, "Measure twice, cut once." I don't own an XB1, but I'd rather see MS spend time to get it right then deploy, than rush it out and have to patch it or have it cause problems.
It may be a bit disappointing that they announce a date and miss it, but this happens all the time, especially when you get in to the different types of testing before launch.
Hardly the end of the world..The thing still play games...
