Umm, maybe I've missed something... but why would they use the Source engine in the first place?
This game is being published by EA... Why not use an engine from one of their devs, like I dunno, Frostengine or something?
Genuinely curious why they'd a) choose an engine that doesn't match their requirements, b) Isn't from the same stable as their publisher, c) Isn't an engine that is particularly 'next-gen'
Seems od...
Expand it to have heroes and cards from other Blizz games, like StarCraft and Diablo
Can't find links, but I'm pretty sure I heard TR2 is in development.
I know some of the guys and gals on the Yogscast YouTube channels were talking about it with certainty
My logic would be that if TR didn't sell very well on last-gen, then they wouldn't risk releasing it for next-gen (with a smaller install base), and to see the significant graphical updates (even to the point of changing the character model for Lara) would indicate that the ...
Agree Volkama. LoL, DOTA2, Hearthstone, Path of Exile and Smite are good examples of F2P done right.
So you only ever play one game / IP from each genre? Weird. If I find a genre I like, I tend to buy multiple different games from it. Y'know like playing Uncharted, and The Last of Us and Tomb Raider etc.
At the moment we have so little info on Deep Down that it is impossible to say how close it is to Dark Souls and there are elements of it that sound different.
Anyhow, considering pretty much every one of you 13 comments on N4G has been to troll or sa...
I bought this on PS3 when it was on sale, then re-purchased it during a Steam sale for PC as I wanted to see it at it's best. Although the Definitive version does look nicer I'm not going to get it yet again on PS4 (although I do like the game a lot). I'm hopeful this'll be a PS+ game at some point in the future :)
Regarding the sales... I suppose a couple of mitigating factors... The PS4 has outsold the XB1 so there's a larger audience to sell to (altho...
Bbb...but... The PS4 version is scoring a WHOLE, MASSIVE, INCREDIBLE 3% lower on Metacritic!!!
How dare people buy an inferior version!
/s
What sort of stupid question is that!?
inFamous is only available on PS and is a totally different genre. Why would TitanFall impact it at all?
No logic there at all.
You can't have both?
But then again, you'd need to own a PS4 for that
What!?
So Criterion split, and a load of the guys go to Ghost to make NFS games... And almost immediately get hit with layoffs!
Something doesn't make sense here.
With the Criterion founders also leaving EA must be pissing everyone off.
With the high price of digital downloads on consoles, and throw in any requirement for getting bigger hard drives to accommodate the downloads over the life of the console, and I can't see any benefit to a disc-less console right now.
Seems like it'd be more expensive in the long run.
Oh yeah, I've got no doubt great stuff is coming... Just could do with coming a bit quicker. :)
Guess I'm just a bit tired of all these announcements from Sony and MS about stuff coming 1 to 2 years down the road.
Another victory...?
I don't want to sound harsh after all the good work Sony have done with the PS4. but the real victory right now would be getting some games out the door.
My PS4 hasn't been turned on since I got bored of Resogun and completed KZ shortly after EU launch. Nothing more to play as the rest of the games I wanted I already have on PC or will buy in a Steam sale.
I know the post launch time is always dry - but with Driv...
I don't mind Paymium for those people with no time on their hands who just want to play the end game. I have no problem with EA doing this for Need for Speed for example. Even in FPS games to unlock weapons - a noob gamer who pays is still going to get pwnd by someone who has put the time in to level up.
But Paymium where the dev intentionally makes a game more of a grind to 'encourage' paying to speed up advancement is probably where I stop gaming regularly. O...
Hmm. What to do...
I've been holding off buying a Vita as it doesn't have the catalogue of games I want to play right now, but with Remote Play I was thinking of getting one some day.
Now I see they are phasing out the OLED version... I've seen a few comparison vids of the new vs OLED screen, and it does seem a bit less impressive. Not sure how the rest of the Slim compares to the Phat.
So now I dunno whether to jump in and buy...
Your delusion is amusing.
I'm no fan of the XB1 at the moment, but if you want to get in to a shipped vs sold discussion I'd be happy to shred that argument for you.
If you have some other conspiracies about MS making up tricky numbers, go ahead, enlighten us with facts.
Oh, and while you're at it, let us know where Sony got their XB1 numbers from. MS haven't released anything for a while, so somebody must be speculating to a...
One of the main reasons HL3 has not appeared is because Valve has a completely (or almost) flat organisational structure.
People can work on anything they want. This things that attract attention and support of others get made. Gabe may be the de facto top dog, but generally anything goes.
So either, there's not enough appetite / support to make HL3, or Valve are waiting for the tech to be where they need it, or Gabe has vetoed it for now for some other...
Cbaoth, that is one of the most interesting comments I've seen on N4G for a while.
I did not realise the 360 to PS3 ratio was around 3:2 as well.
That should put the fanboys heads in a spin! The general war cry from the 360 faithful was that the 360 crushed the PS3 in the UK, so it must follow that they accept the PS4 is crushing the XB1?? :)
I would recommend this to anyone. It's a really nice game.
It looked far too simplistic at first, but there are many layers of strategy.
Balance is not bad. Sure there's the meta game where people find an uber deck combo and then people have to counter it until it plays itself out and the next deck comes along - but that's part of the fun. Blizz are doing OK balancing things with nerfs / buffs.
It is definitely not Pay to Win. ...
What's interesting is how many older games are on this list.
That makes me think that when there was a bigger disparity between last-gen console hardware and PC hardware, there was less incentive to optimise the PC code for all GPU / CPU's.
With the new gen of consoles being much more PC-like in their architectures I suspect we'll see a knock on effect that games optimised for PS4 / XB1 will result in better optimisation for PC versions... and the...
