@UnHoly_One
I agree this is all idle speculation and assumptions.
But all I know for sure is that Sony have announced 2.1 million sold, and MS have not said a word since the 1.2 million announcement. I would imagine that if they had sold over 2 million we would have heard about it.
In the UK MS stated they sold 170,000 - and right now I can buy one in the local GAME store. Sony reported 250,000 sold in the UK and I cannot buy one anywhere I...
What's interesting about this news is that as the PC market contracts the number of users on services such as Steam increases. Part of that may be the better support for Linux and OSX, but I suspect most of it is that there's more PC gamers.
So whilst some people may decry the end of PC gaming, what I think these figures show is that PC use as a whole is becoming more specialised, which means we could see more hardware / technology targeted specifically at these nich...
That's true, but from what was reported the XB1 went in to production later than the PS4. I can't find the PS4 article but I believe they mentioned August for production kick off, and a Google search indicates the XB1 started rolling off production lines around mid Sept.
So, assuming there's a similar amount of time required to assemble, package and transport the boxes then it's fair to say there were probably LESS XB1's in the market place before it laun...

Not tried MP yet as still working through SP. I did really enjoy the MP in previous KZ games though.
One point you make that I really agree with even in SP is that the game lacks tension. I'm not sure if that comes from audio or game design - but I am not finding KZSF an intense experience. It's just a decent FPS with amazing graphics.
I'm a bit late to reply......
The bits of the MS model I thought were interesting were the always on concept. I know that much of the motivation for MS would be self gain / protection / restricting ownership of games, and that it also stupidly excluded people without online connections - but the potential of having every game always connected sounded interesting.
Think of games like Demons Souls, or Journey that had interesting online capabilities. I th...
I'll probably get a few disagrees for this, but as my comment history shows I have been quite pro-Sony in the last few months.
The PS4 is OK, but I'd class it as nothing more than a turbo charged PS3. There's no radical leaps and it feels like the first Sony console to be a small evolution, rather than ushering in something truly new.
That's no bad thing, as I loved my PS3, PS2 and the PS1 - because at heart I am a gamer and want a games mach...
@kalebninja
You're being very selective about your list. And since when has the quantity of exclusives been better than the quality?
I am a big Nintendo fan, but right now a lot of their 1st party titles feel stale, and there's nothing appealing to make me buy a WiiU... But I sincerely hope this changes as I WANT to own a WiiU
And lack of choice should also factor in.. If you're looking for a game to buy with your PS4 for kids... Options are rather limited right now.
Lets not forget, that with the exception of the Wii, Nintendo have been struggling with console sales since the N64. Almost all their problems stem back to lack of third party support, and Ninty never seem bothered to address this. In the past it wasn't so much of an issue as their innovative first party titles saw them through - but now... Their 1st party stuff feels a little stale.
If Nintendo remain profitable, then sales numbers don't matter so much. It's c...
Extremely good numbers by Sony.
Considering how the PS3 crept up on the 360 even though it launched later and was much higher priced - things look very good for the PS4 in the long term. I don't see a return to the PS2 dominance, but I do see Sony winning the sales game over this generation by a nice margin.
I don't really want Sony to destroy MS or Nintendo in sales numbers, as competition is good, and to see Sony slip back in to the arrogant state ...
I really don't see it as an issue myself as I generally always plug in the controller when the PS4 is on Standby.
I'm giving you a +bub for being one of the few to read the article!!
Some things cannot be unseen!!
Have never played Uno since... Either digital or the physical game.
I'll probably get a Wii U at the end of its life cycle - once the price drops and games are on budget. I used to be a staunch Nintendo Day 1 console supporter - but after the Wii I've been very sceptical of what the hell Nintendo are up to!
It must be killing Sony to have this awesome technology just waiting for the worlds network speeds to catch up and allow them to unleash it!
I tried OnLive some time ago, and it was OK, even on my poor connection - too laggy for real use, but far more impressive than I expected. Now I'm on a fibre connection and would love to see what Gakai brings.
Disaster is a ridiculous and sensationalist word to use. Just like the ridiculous articles claiming the PS4 had huge technical issues.
Let's all calm down and wait and see if the problems (on either console) are really widespread
Digital download prices across every platform are a bit of a disgrace.
There's almost no incentive to switch to digital at these prices.
Even Steam are overpriced at times. I tend to wait until sales kick in and always check the price on Amazon or ShopTo first
This is an apples to oranges comparison.
MS sold something like 70,000 XBox360's in the UK on Day 1 - but demand far outstripped supply for a long time (about 3 months). Who knows what MS would have sold if supply was not constrained.
Now throw in that MS managed to get a lot more X1's in to production. So if they have outsold the 360 2:1 they sold about 140,000 on Day 1. That's good and about right for a global release where they sold 1million...
Here ya go...

I buy a lot of stuff digitally through Steam, Desura, and even Origin or Uplay depending on price.
But with the current price of games on PSN I cannot see myself going 'Day 1 digital' - but happy to buy digital games in sales.
I prefer digital as I don't have to bother with physical discs.
I would go 100% digital if DRM allowed trading, resale and if the prices come down and the console manufacturers give out bigger hard drives.
