Really? You're going to not play a highly anticipated game because you don't get to play anal probing and abortion mini games? In an RPG that may last 30+ hours, you're going to avoid it because maybe 10minutes have been cut. Also, the scenes will be describes using audio / text - you just don't get to see the pictures or play the mini games... Hardly 'ruined'.
Sounds like cutting off your nose to spite your face, as the saying goes.
Unfortunately I suspect the following has happened...
Publishers normally create a single version for EMEA territories (Australia, all Euro countries, and some Middle East places too). The base game is the same for all those countries, the only thing that changes is audio / subtitles.
If any of those countries has strict censorship, then the entire version will get censored. We know censorship in Germany and some Middle East countries is more stringent than...
Has there been any word yet on whether Drive Club supports force feedback wheels? Specifically the Logitech G27... I don't care how good the game is if it doesn't support my wheel.
I held off buying a Vita until about 2 weeks ago. I felt really burned after buying a PSP which made me wary of the Vita, and to date there were very few games I liked the look of.
However, I do think it's just (but only just) worth getting one now. I prefer the Slim version for it's better weight, it does make a difference. Also the revised back that shrinks the touchpad a bit. The OLED screen would have been nice, but I am definitely not disappointed by the LCD....
Author is doing it wrong. More concerned with getting Legendary cards and implying the game is about Pay 2 Win.
There's plenty of evidence that you can get to Legendary rank with a 100% free deck (Trump on Twitch did this just last week). Sure, most players will not be able to do this - but even with the best deck available a poor player will get beaten.
The Gold does come kinda slowly, but focussing on Arena every 150G is better than buying a pack with...
When I saw that title I wondered how many comments it would take before someone claimed a PS4 version of Crash was in the works...
1st comment nailed it... well done sir :)
I feel that it's very unlikely, but stranger things have happened. Fingers crossed
Thanks Randy. Transparency and straight talking is always appreciated... Just a shame you were so obtuse when it came to Aliens Colonial Marines...
And taking a swipe at Valve is not cool.
I look forward to the Borderlands 3 announcement at next years E3!
Sure, it's nice to have a killer app. But I'd be pretty shocked that someone who bought a PS4 decides to trade it in for an XB1 based off one game. It just doesn't make financial sense.
Maybe some people will upgrade the 360 to XB1 - but has EA offered any incentive to do so (like a cheap or free upgrade of TitanFall from 360 to XB1 version?). The bundle is a nicer price, so maybe that will sway people.
But I would also argue that if the only d...
Games sure are getting big now. Makes me fondly remember installing games from 1.44MB floppy discs. Or even the old 5.25" discs that held less than a MB which my old Amstrad PC1512 used (my first proper PC!). And don't get me started on tape drives on the Commodore Vic 20, Spectrums etc... Good old days.
What's kinda interesting is that I used to sit and wait for Spectrum games to load off tape for what felt like forever. Now, I sit and wait for games to down...
Yeah, Netflix has a lot of competition now, so turning a blind eye is sensible.
I've been using Hola on my PC to watch Netflix from other regions for months. It works really well.
I suspect the guy in the article needs to check what region his XB1 has been set to.
Finding a balance between hand-holding and hardcore is a really difficult job these days.
With games costing so much more money to produce, it's not surprising that publishers need games to appeal to the widest audience possible. Unfortunately that often ends up with mediocre end product.
It's lucky we still have games like Demon's / Dark Souls, but in general the one thing that has marked out the last two console generations is the move toward m...
If we were being charitable we'd probably say price and a disruptive technology that thre their competitors off-guard won it for Nintendo...
Sales numbers will certainly be interesting, especially as MS are doing a TitanFall XB1 bundle for $499. And CoD games tended to sell better on 360 than PS3
But the questions are...
Will TitanFall drive enough hardware sales to make up a huge gap between PS4 and XB1 (at least 1.5million and counting)
Will inFamous also shift hardware for Sony to offset XB1 sales
Will TitanFall do well enough that MS decides to pay through the...
But will we see that reflected in review scores?
What I'm seeing is reviews that state 'XB1 used for review, also available on PS4, PC' etc
So they only give one score at the end. Some sites do mention in the text that the title may perform better on one console than another - but who reads the text these days!! :) Most people just look at the score then take to the interwebs to vent about how their game of choice only scored a 9 instead of an o...
@hellvacancy
'soft fanny comments'?
I'm from the UK and I'm guessing that what 'soft fanny' means to you is different from what it could mean to me! :)
We have too many wannabe gaming 'journalists' and not enough news to go round.
Very few people actually have industry sources, or have any sort of qualification relevant to writing, so they end up picking and choosing 'news' and spinning it in to poorly worded click bait articles.
The vast majority of 'journalists' are just jumped up bloggers who have nothing new to offer, no journalistic integrity, and no skill. Throw in the need for...
Where Ryse was good:
Facial animation of main character(s)
Where Ryse was nothing special:
Everything else
Not really surprising considering they've had over 3 months to manufacture stock for Japan.
Thanks
I finally caved in and bought a Vita as there's a few games to get me through the PS4 dry patch. I've had a PS+ account since Day 1, so got a load of stuff to play on Vita - including Dynasty Warriors Next, which is actually a lot of fun.
Yes it could be patched... But...
The problem is that the publisher needs to get games rated. So they have to send the review boards a (nearly) finished version.
So Ubi make one version of the game for countries A,B,C,D etc (because it would cost too much to make country specific versions)
The censorship laws in Countries B and C restrict showing abortion or probing.
So they cut the scenes and it impacts Countries A,B,C,D <...
